Their pull-thru sites are not very spacious so as a result they recommend you disconnect your towed vehicle prior to pulling into the site. Only two sets of washer and dryers which seems somewhat spares for a popular campground with lots of children. Also my family had to drive to the laundry only to see signs that stated "golf cart parking only". I suspect you have to rent the golf carts. They parked our Jeep anyway and no bother them. - bpatter1

We stayed over the Labor day holiday weekend and really enjoyed our visit. Our campsite was big enough and right nearby the main building so we were near the daily entertainment. The pool was really nice, as were the bathroom and showers. The kids are already asking when we can go back. - naner

We stayed in this campground for one night. While it would probably be good for a longer stay as well, it was great for an overnight visit. The entrance is a little over a mile from the US-131 exit: very easy to get to. Since the time we arrived was later, the office was closed, but our reservation and site info was posted at the office door. And the owners checked on us later to make sure all was well.
Our site was very good size, as are most sites in the park. We were at a full hook-up site in what appeared to be a newer area so there were not trees and shade, but some of the electric/water sites had good shade. There were a lot of season lease sites but they appeared to be well maintained and many were in a separate area.
While we did not use it, the pool was beautiful and appeared to be quite new. The showers appeared to also to be quite new. The bathrooms, while older, were well maintained and clean. There are a number of recreational facilities available at the park (mini golf, rec room, basketball, etc.). We could only receive a few TV stations. The cell phone reception was good. Wi-fi worked well. The nearby town does not have a lot of businesses and we could not find any fast-food type restaurants close for a quick supper.
We recommend this campground and will stay here again when we are in the area. - RXA-ADM

This campground needs a lot of improvement to justify charging $40/night. We full time and needed access to Grand Rapids for a few days. There are a lot of stored/permanent RV's here and many of them are pretty run down. The sites are a mix of gravel and dirt and very close together. They have a gate key that they want a $20 deposit for. They weren't even using the gate the few days we stayed. The office phone didn't seem to work as we never were able to get them on the phone to make a reservation. The owners are nice and try to be helpful but this place needs some work. - RoadtripImages dot com

Park was very clean. Very quiet and it was full. Campsites were clean. Not all sites had grass. Ours had pea gravel. Very shady. Had a problem with gate key first night. Had to buzz for help and took 10 minutes to get in. But other than that, real nice and friendly place. - Bravesmom

Great family run park, good interior roads, lots of activities, everything was clean and neat. Easy in and out. - rose1234

This is a nice park. We chose it to be near our friends that live nearby. The sites are grassy and mostly level; it was soft the week we were there due to the recent rains. No pets are allowed which was fine for us. The park is mostly a seasonal park that gets busy on Thursday and lasts until late on Sunday. Monday-Wednesday the park is very quiet. The restroom/shower facility near our site needs updating but was adequate. The park has W/E only but there is a dump location as you leave. We found the park filled with friendly families that know each other and have been coming for years. We kayaked and fished the river - caught enough fish for lunch. We would visit again. Be prepared for little if any Verizon signal, and we could not locate our satellite signal. We did receive a few channels on our antennae. Good Sam's discount. You must pay for a county pass either a daily fee or season fee to help the county maintain the park,so this is added to your bill. - westie0506

Nice park, well managed, wagon rides for kids in evening. No dogs barking! - Titanium-Jim
Sep 2019 - $75.00
Excellent family RV Resort with lots for kids to do. The site we were given was a back-in that was about 6" low in the rear. This made leveling interesting. I don't like lifting the rear very high with jacks as our parking brakes are on the back wheels. Therefore, we could not get level and looking around at others all the 5th wheels were set up on several leveling blocks in the rear. For a short stay that was "ok" but for long stays it would not work for motorhomes. Landscaping on the drivers side made accessing the water compartment a challenge. We stayed in a motorhome. - Thorman

We stayed here the end of June. We had a large concrete back in site #61. All utilities were in good shape and working properly, except for the cable which was very fuzzy. It was hot the entire weekend. Never had a low voltage issue. Water pressure was good. Park is very clean and they work to keep it that way. This is a mostly seasonal resort with about 50 or so overnight spots. But everyone was friendly. Pool was great with awesome views of the river. The marina area was also very nice and relaxing. We will be back again and probably rent a boat! - dodge guy

A very nice campground with wide roads and easy navigation. This place is a resort and has some really nice amenities for all ages. Site were spacious and well appointed and hook ups were good. This place was clean and landscaped. A really relaxing stay in a resort quality atmosphere. I would stay here again. - Beware thyself
Aug 2019 - $35.00
Camped here for six days. They have a nice pond that is stocked with fish and serves has a swimming area. I was guided to my site which was level. The utilities worked fine. My site was near the highway which is very noisy day and night. The noise level is the biggest con about staying here. - Poe Dog
Jul 2019 - $20.00
We just spent 6 weeks at this campground and it is by far one of the best run campgrounds we have ever stayed in. From the beginning, we were escorted to our site, there were tree branches hanging on our awning and they promptly cut them back for us, the place including bathrooms, beach and play ground was always immaculately clean and our family that lives in the area was always welcome to visit at no extra charge.
The only negatives were the interstate noise which the campground owners really have no control over other than to plant a row of pine trees along the property line to buffer out the noise, and a little more effort needs to be put into the activities such as running the barrel train a lot more than just twice a day and game prizes need to be more age appropriate. A kid does not want to win a busted coconut. Finally, TV signal was often hard to acquire because of all the trees, but wifi was much better than most parks. All in all it was an awesome park and we will definitely be back. - MrsSqrl
Jul 2019 - $35.00
Very noisy from nearby highway. Every 5 minutes or less someone would run off the side of the road and hit the rumble strips, just to make it worse. Woke up to this noise every morning at 4:30ish, despite the air conditioner running trying to mask the noise. Maybe if you're from the city and used to it, it might be okay, but not for this country dweller. Bring ear plugs. - Dfrnt

The park is well taken care of, the people running the park were very friendly and helpful. It is not a fancy park, but very clean. - Larry Burkett
Aug 2010 - $27.00
Do not let the pictures on the website deceive you. This is not a picture of where you would be staying unless you are a seasonal camper. We stayed there and basically we were camping in a large yard. There were hardly any shade trees. The 'heated' pool was freezing cold. The women's shower was ice cold. There is not a beach on the lake, just a small spot with some of the seasonal campers pontoon boats are docked. There was a very a small dock to fish on but the lake was to shallow and very weedy to fish off the dock. I would not recommend this campground to anyone. - redheadmichigan

The park is all dirt and pretty old. We were not allowed to participate in the Christmas in July activities with the children unless we paid extra. We were allowed up to five people - but only 3 of us adults over 62. We would have enjoyed being with our nieces and nephews. That was the purpose of camping next to each other. This campground is not for our family. We will choose another next time. - BigSisy
Jun 2015 - $1.00
We stayed on a private lot on the property with full hookups. The owners of the park are relatively new (3 years) and have made huge improvements in the facilities. This was once a Western Horizon Park, now much improved. Our conversation with the new owners indicates they are proud of the things they have achieved, the condition of the facilities and the additions they have made. We enjoyed our stay here and would return when in the area. - SilverBear
Jul 2011 - $4.00
This park has had some bad reviews in the past. The dusty roads have been fixed with a spray. The ant hills are still here, but don't see a lot of ants. We put stuff out and it is gone, so it is working. We found a site that has full hookups and still can get satellite with a portable dish. Lots of trees. Power & water are fine. Very few people here during the week. Office staff is all business, but OK. Workers are friendly and helpful. Park is not near any large city, so we probably wouldn't stay here again. Grand Rapids and Muskegon are 50 miles away. - eclp64
