We were here for the Heartland RV Rally, Michigan Chapter. We thought the park was beautiful and staff very Friendly. They look to be adding a few new sites. We were backed up to the river and had a beautiful view. They have a sternwheel passenger boat that you can take a 2 hr cruise on, lot of fun. This park is close to shopping & restaurants. Right by a small airport, but this park is extremely quiet. Great hidden gem. We would come back. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Work in progress campground. The river view back in sites are great, although we had a pull through which was just as good. All power utilities are raised, and the bath house is "portable" due to rising waters in the spring. The campground was absolutely dry when we were there last week. Bathhouse is immaculately kept clean as is the salt water pool. They are planning to add many more sites in the future. Water pressure was excellent as was the voltage. There is a small playground, but no building for supplies or activities at this time. There is a paddle boat that leaves daily for a great tour of the Grand River, for extra cost. The campground as we understand has only been open for about 3 years. There are about 6 oil wells on the property which they take off the methane gas to use in a furnace to heat the pool. Great idea. There is no small or runoff from the small wells. The only criticism I have is the slow/sparse wifi in the campground. You can get next to the bath house which only has a router ( no repeaters in the park) and still have difficulty getting any speed. We were able to just get our email and limited social media. The staff explained they are waiting for the rest of the park to be developed to expand the service. I think they need to be more attentive to the present guests at this point. Cellular service is weak also. These limiting factors would not prevent us from returning. We were there for a rally for one week. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the second season this lovely park is open. Situated along the banks of the Grand River just outside Grand Rapids it is quiet and peaceful. We were in a back in site only feet away from the river. The sites are very generously spaced and are angled and staggered so that each site along the river has a very wide view of the river which has no building along its banks so is very "natural". All sites have full hookup. Sites not right on the river are pull through and also have river view but less so. Most of the park has little shade although the far end of the park has lovely, mature trees and lots of shade. A large paddle "steamboat" makes frequent trips up and down the river adding to the ambiance. Our grandchildren visited frequently, rode their bikes freely and enjoyed the pool and playground. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice spots backing right on the river. The park is vey quiet, but busy near the pool. Spots at the far end of the park were shaded most of the day.The spots near the front had full sun. Beautiful pool but no where to hide from the sun. The showers and washrooms look new and were some of the nicest we have ever encountered. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nicely laid out CG with riverfront sites spaced enough so that the sites behind had something of a river view as well. Quiet. In a few days doubt if we heard 6 aircraft on the airfield next to the CG. River was high & office is on a barge tied to riverbank. Some improvising using a plank of wood was in use to get from riverbank to barge. No big deal. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Not bad getting to the campground. Interior roads are mostly paved but far end is dirt. All sites are gravel and pretty level. Utilities worked fine. Wifi only very close to pool. Restroom and showers are very nice and kept clean. Nice pool. This park is only two years old and kept up well so far. Satellite for Dish will work on some riverfront sites and it looked like Direct was working for a few the next row in but the big trees that run the length of the park make satellite reception a challenge. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Truck Camper.

We completely enjoyed our 11-day stay in this park, while we visited our son and his family. It is in a terrific location right on the Grand River. There were two families of geese with goslings that fed along the river adjacent to our spot. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Being that this was our first experience camping with our fifth wheel as a newbie, it was a very pleasant experience. The spots were spacious and level, with exception of the road construction on Cottonwood, it was easy access for big rigs. I never been to a campground as quiet as this one was. You could hear a pin drop at midnight. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is based on weekly stay. Check the website for directions if construction on Cottonwood is still ongoing. Owners and staff were friendly upon check in. This is a relatively new park and the owners are still doing things to improve it. There's easy access for big rigs. There are two sections to the park. The first section has a paved road around the loop and the sites are gravel. The second section has a dirt loop, and I believe the sites are also gravel. There are both back-in and pull-through sites available. Most sites appeared to be fairly level. Some sites have more space between them than others. All services worked as expected. This park is great for families. There's a pool, playground, and beach access, as well as the Grand Lady cruises. The shower/restroom building is quite nice and was clean each time we went there. My husband (6'2" tall) commented that it's the first campground shower he has used where the shower head was actually high enough for him to stand under it. (That might be due to the height of the owners.) There are two washers and two dryers in the same building as the showers/restrooms. There isn't a designated pet area, but there is plenty of space to walk pets. There were numerous OTA channels. Verizon data and cell worked well. We would stay again if passing through the area. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is more for campers in for the weekend. There were several larger motor homes, too. Our site faced the river. The staff was friendly. We had to pay in full when we made the reservation 5 months ahead of time. The price was more than the site was worth to us. There was a lovely pool & laundry area that looked brand new. Enough room to walk the dogs. Nearby fast food restaurants. The horrible part about it was getting to the park. The main side road you take was under construction. Luckily we found a parking lot to pull into & got hold of the office for directions around the construction. Once we knew the route it was doable. I'm assuming the construction will be done in time for next season & this won't be a problem. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This was a very nice and very quiet campground. It is far enough away from the noise of the city and highways, so the sleepability factor was a 10. It is very clean and well maintained and having a small river meandering past the CG was very serene and peaceful. Most of the CG's interior roads have been paved, but unfortunately the one going behind our site wasn't, so we had some residual dust from a constant flow of trucks that seemed to circle the park. The site was fairly level, but directly behind us was one of the two oil or gas rigs in the park which seemed to operate on an "as needed" basis. The noise wasn't loud, but it was slightly unusual to have one of these in our "back yard." We used the laundry (the machines take credit cards so we didn't need a handful of quarters), but there were only 2 washers and 2 dryers so there was a little waiting time. The only real negative was the Wi-Fi. The antenna must be in the laundry/bath house building (I could not see it on the roof), so there was no reception at our site. We had to drive or walk to the building to check our email and plan the next leg of our trip. In this age of relying on the Internet for everything, the Wi-Fi should have had a wider range in the CG. And there is currently road construction in the area, so getting to the CG was a little tricky. With our daily adventures out of the park, we learned the roads that bypassed the construction detours. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is very peaceful, sitting right alongside the Grand River. Site was long, clean, and level. The pool was well used by the kids but we opted for kayaking on the river. It's easy to launch from the camp ground. Some sites are open but some are treed so you may want to call the campground to pick a site if you need a satellite friendly site. I used the automated reservation system and it put me on a site with trees so we had a problem with the satellite. The rig's antenna pulled in a dozen or so stations so we were able to still find something to watch once the bugs drove us inside. The only wifi is at the pool area with no plans to expand. We were close enough to the antenna that we were able to pull in the signal with our wifi amplifier, but I suspect most people will be relying on their phones. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and we will probably stay here again. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for one night to visit friends before heading up to Traverse City. It is difficult to reach the campground because of road construction this summer. Cottonwood Drive is closed between Baldwin Street and Bauer Road, making for a long detour to reach the park from I-96. To get to the park, we went east on Baldwin to 36th, north to Fillmore, then west on Fillmore to Cottonwood and then Taylor. All of this was big-rig accessible. To leave the park, we took Fillmore to 48th Ave north to Lake Michigan Drive, and then east to I-196. Again, big-rig accessible, but these detours are time consuming. Nice campground that is right on the Grand River. Check-in was easy, and the roads are easily navigable. 50 am power was stable, and the water pressure was average. No cable TV, no WiFi, and all the trees make it not satellite friendly. Our site was plenty long and level enough. Nice pool but we didn't use it. A bit pricey for what you get, but I would stay there again if in the area. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Motorhome.

A really nice park on the Grand River, with nice long sites. Some sites are back-ins on the waterfront and pull-thrus in the outside row. The sites are gravel and level, with nice grass surrounding the RV. There is a mix of wide open sites and some that are shaded. The utilities were well located and perfectly working. Everyone at the park was friendly and the owners and staff are pleasant and very helpful. The beach along the river was somewhat under construction (the owner had just graded the rivers edge with new sand), but it didn't keep us from enjoying a walk along the river. The campground also runs a riverboat operation that offers some picnic and sightseeing cruises. We will definitely return to this campground next time we are in the area. We camped at Steamboat Park Campground in a Motorhome.
