We booked our week's stay in August back in April, but they did not hold it with a credit card, nor send us an email confirmation. I called two weeks prior to our stay and confirmed that we would be in site 17. When we arrived August 1st, they did not have our reservation and had to squeeze us in and we had to move half way through. Nice camp hosts, but they did not assist us with getting into our site, saying, "Just call us if you need us." When we tried to call three times, just got voicemail. Had to smell sewage much of the time, as they put us next to the septic drain field, and campers are right on top of each other here. Bought firewood that was wet and we couldn't get it started at all. The picnic table was full of grease. Not a happy camper! We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Motorhome.

Campsite was dirty, very small, and the WiFi didn't work. Extra charges to run your AC, extra for kids, will never return. We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Visited here specifically to camp and fish. The boat ramp in camp is quite shallow and inconvenient. Most annoying is the inability to dock your boat overnight so one must launch and land each day. We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Travel Trailer.

There was easy access to the electrical panel. Sewer was very accessible for ease of access.

Lots were spacious and offered some shade. Site was grass and featured a fire ring and picnic table. Very friendly staff and campers.

Beautiful place with the access to a beautiful lake. We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small fishing resort on a very pretty lake. We just stayed overnight. It is about 4 miles off the main road. We were very close to our neighbors. It was acceptable for an overnight. We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Motorhome.

Arrived and left within minutes. Called the day prior to confirm the site would be wide and wifi was readily available, was assured of both amenities. Reserved a FHU a site to accommodate our 35' 5th wheel, but the assigned site was very narrow (lined with trees and uphill), and wifi code only good for a single device (laptop or iPad, not phones). Cash/check only, no cc. 95% seasonal or residents, not scenic. A single swing set immediately next to trees was the "play area". Save yourself the headache and go a few miles around the lake for a lake front site triple the size and half the price!!! We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The spaces in this park are very close together, although we had a good site near the boat ramp. This site did not have a sewer hook-up, but we used the dump station on our way out. It was a very crowded park. The extra electrical charge for running the a/c seemed silly, but at night it was cool even in July. The lake is nice, but the mosquitos take over once the sun goes down. We stayed here for two nights. We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Motorhome.

Lake front on Indian Lake with sand beach and wading area. This is a typical RV park with side-by-side areas closely arranged. There's an extra charge for using air conditioning of $1.00/day. But this campground is at the northern tip of Lake Michigan, so it stays cool. We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Don't miss Dairy Kreme in Manistique and Linda's Bread Box in Cook. Route 2 has a pleasant wayside on Lake Michigan. Manistique has stores and churches. This is a pleasant rural setting.

This little park is tucked away, down a tree-lined lane, sitting right on a lake. Very pretty, well maintained park. It's small and sites are limited. Sites are cozy, but comfortable. A quiet, peaceful place. Owners are friendly and accommodating. A very nice place to stay in the Upper Peninsula, convenient to attractions and state park. We would stay here again. Fire rings are unusual and interesting--old dryer drums atop old wheels. We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Manistique, Michigan, Pictured Rocks, Indian Lake State Park, The Big Spring--all great places to visit. Pictured Rocks National Seashore is a must see--walk the park and/or take a boat ride--we loved the boat tour--also great spot for kayaking.

Overall Rating:

This is no resort but a very old campground. One lane road in and out of park and very dusty. Pull-through site small; another coach pulled in next to us and our slides almost touched each other. Wi-Fi worked. Stayed 2 nights only to visit Pictured Rocks in Munising. Cash or check only, no credit cards accepted. Would not stay here again. We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

In this case, the term "resort" is used very loosely. This is a campground in the old fashioned sense of the word. The pull through sites where we parked our 40' coach consisted of a poorly outlined 7'x 45' area with some gravel (didn't even have a picnic table). There is no more than 8' between campers in these sites without the slides extended. The back-in sites for smaller units are somewhat better. The gravel road/driveway into the CG is not wide enough for two way large RV traffic. All interior roads are gravel as well. Verizon MiFi with two bars 3G only. Lots of shade trees, clean restrooms and very dated "activity" center. Quite a few seasonal/permanent residents, but everyone is quite friendly. Lake access with small beach and questionable boat ramp. Badly needs investment in facilities and infrastructure. Would stay here for one night only in a pinch. Be aware that they do not accept credit cards. Cash or checks only. We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

The rate was $26, but this campground charges $1/air conditioning unit per night extra, so rate was $28 for us. They also charge the same amount for electric heat. The park is a few miles off US-10, but access is easy. Be aware that their pull-through sights technically meet the definition, but they are not long enough to accommodate your MH with toad connected. Some of the park turns are a bit tight with a motor home to pull through with your toad attached so recommend that you disconnect prior to pulling to your site. We had a power outage that lasted for about 5 hours the evening we were there, but this was not the fault of the park. Power was finally back shortly after midnight, which was very good, as it was still quite warm out and the humidity probably could not have gotten any higher. This park has many seasonal campers, and the grounds around some of those units could have been kept up a lot better than they were. All the campers were very friendly. Sites were all gravel and fairly firm, even with the rain that came the night we were there. There is no cable TV and could not locate any over the air channels. However, our site did have satellite access, though many of the sites are too heavily wooded for that. The WiFi was typical of most parks, almost unusable. Verizon 3G data service and a usable AT&T cellular voice signal was available within the park. We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is an older park popular with seasonals and families. Dirt and grass sites are level, but very close together with no privacy. Mature trees provide shade, but hamper satellite and (no cable or over the air TV). Wi-Fi was free, but frequently very slow. AT&T phone in the area is through a partner company and does not provide a data signal. The park was full, but quiet, especially for the holiday week. The rate is weekly for 50 amp service (extra fees apply for AC or heaters). We camped at Indian Lake Travel Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
