This was our second stay. It's clean and the staff is great. Concrete pads & easy access. - Tanker

Wow, what a terrific park this is! There are expansive green lawns between sites with nice trees in the C loop (not so many in the A and B loops). Cement pads, places to park two cars, 50 amp service, great picnic areas, very friendly hosts at the gate. It has a laundry too. We wanted to change sites (lots of small noisy children next door) and they were totally accommodating. We cannot recommend this highly enough. - twestover

Weather was miserable but the campground cleanliness and layout made up for it. Beautiful park with scenic views and easy walk ability. However, even with the cold rain the mosquitoes were evident and I can only imagine due to low, shady and swampy spots within the park that it can get quite "buggy". Yurts and cabins for rent also. Yurts were in the low swampy spot but the cabins were placed adjacent to the lake and had a great sunset view. - Hidden Barb

This park is somewhat remote for visiting the Detroit area but it worked for us. This is a new park (they had their grand opening while we were there). I can't explain the logic behind the setup at this park. They have identified certain sites as premium, others as standard and have reserved two sites for those staying less than a week. The short term sites are very tight and, while we were there, several other sites were empty - a very strange business plan. There is road noise during the morning and evening rush hours. There is a very nice seating area overlooking the bay that is quite pleasant. The sites are narrow and, for desiel pushers, your door is so far forward you end up exiting on the grass. - Rd yacht

Park is a little far for Detroit area attractions, but close to Selfridge Air Force Base. Very clean and nicely set up. Problem - no pool and or swim area or dog park or run. There is a very nice place to sit and over look the lake. Problem - no pets allowed. If there was a section to rest with the pets would be nice. Not a campground to go to with children. Great for the 55 plus group. They do permit you to wash your rig. - kyle james

This is a fantastic park only 1 year old right on Lake St. Clair. All roads are smooth asphalt, sites are flat level concrete with full hook up. Close to the highway, but very little road noise, did not bother us at all and we are close to the road. Also right on the lake with a grass area to sit and watch the boats. Restrooms and showers are spotless and small laundry is great, and also spotless. No pool, but the views of the water make up for that. Shopping is within a couple of miles and many places to eat close by. Great place to come relax and enjoy the area. - weighit

We have been here several times since it is the best and closest location to the Pontiac/Detroit metro area. That said, the 30 amp electricity is ancient and you will definitely need an extension cord, many of the lots are unlevel, they do not trim the trees in the road leading around the campground, and there is only one dump station for the whole park. Be careful on your lot selection and it can be a good spot. Quiet during the week. Lots of kids on the weekends. Site 159 is a level open site with morning shade. - Freedom Bus

My husband and I love this state park. The private sites are great. A nice quiet park. - 1Airstream

We were looking for a campground near DTE Energy Music Theatre. We planned to attend a concert and wanted a short drive back to a campground. We are self-contained and don't use the facilities, except for an occasional shower. We stayed during the week.
This campground is quite nice and an easy 10 mile drive to/from DTE Theatre. The campground staff was friendly and helpful and the park was clean and well maintained. There is a variety of campsites - larger, small, combined, shaded, partial shade, full sun, private, open. There is no WiFi. Cell coverage for AT&T and Verizon is adequate. The showers were good. - dsvt

We camped here a week. Friendly couple that runs the place. Most campers are here for the summer, we were just passing through and only stayed a week. They are right on the river with a dock and boat slips, a couple of trees. Nice area. The internet connection is very weak, so couldn't get it in our rig. Had to go to 'community center' which was a converted garage (not too clean) but okay for sitting and using the internet. Nearby is a ferry that will take you (not RV) to the island (bikers are free). We took our bikes and biked around it in about 2 hrs and had lunch at the "School House Restaurant" which was very good. - kemosabe

If you like the water, this is the place for you. The views are great and the owners are just the best. Lots to do and places to go. Just a great all around place. - Drifter
