Overall Rating:

$25 is for water and electric; sewer and pull-through sites are more expensive. Nice clean, quiet campground right on the lake. Park is also known as Sunday lake. There are plenty of open sites and we even snagged one right on the lake. Finding the campground host can be a little tough but there is a phone number you can call. There is a dump and the drinking water is very good. Good cell signal with AT&T and Verizon. Also good Wi-Fi. We liked the place so much we extended our stay several days. Best of all with a breeze coming off the lake there were no bugs. However when we drove up to Porcupine Mountains the flies and mosquitoes just about carried us away. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a city/county campground that is full of seasonal/long term campers with a few available sites for the traveling public. We did have a full hook up site on concrete but the utilities were located on the wrong side and the sewer hook up was an open pipe located below ground behind the concrete pad. We only used the electric hook up. The concrete pad was covered in caked on dry mud and the grass was not cut. The campground manager was away and after we called, he was supposed to stop by to pick up our fee. He never showed after the appointed time and we finally had to hunt him down to pay. We would not stay at this campground again. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Truck Camper.

Overall Rating:

Sweet municipal campground located on Sunday Lake. We had a pull-through, paved lot, 50 amp service, full hookups for $40/night, $200/week, or $400/month. Most sites are grass or gravel. Some are just electric/water. Convenient dump station available. Navigating with big rig through park was not an issue. Roads are paved and showing a bit of wear, and trees are trimmed. Electric and water hookups were on curbside, but close enough to not be a stretch. Four wi-fi towers provided reliable internet. We had satellite reception on Lot 48, but would be doubtful on most lakeside lots and the first row of the campground. Verizon signal was good. Bathhouse and showers are in good repair and clean. Floor looked to be newly epoxyed. Pay showers--dressing area was good size. Eddy Park next to the campground has a swimming beach with rafts, kayak rentals, bathroom, and two pavilions. Would stay here again. Campground Host was exceptionally helpful. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Wakefield is just across the lake with a VFW, gas stations, grocery, restaurant, etc. US-2 cuts through town. Convenient location to tour Porcupine Mountains, Black River Scenic Byway, and Bond Falls. There is a 3 mile lighted trail around the lake. Ironwood and Hurley are 10 miles away with more shopping and restaurants available.

Wow! What a hidden gem! From Highway 2 you will see signs for "Sunday Lake Campground". It is a part of the Eddy Park Complex in Wakefield. Can't say enough about this park! Having no agenda, we were going to just spend the night and move on. We stayed a week! Park Host is wonderful and accomodating! A pleasure to be around! This is a City Owned campground adjacent to a wonderful City park on Sunday lake with a beautiful beach picnic area, kids playground, kayak rentals etc. There is a lighted 3 mile paved walking trail around the lake. Daily rate is $25.00 but their weekly rate is $125.00! We had site #7, waterfront site. Being adjacent to the lake, most sites have some slope, but very manageable. Most sites have 50 amp and water, but there are a handful of FHU sites for a little more cost. WiFi at this park is unbelievable!! Antennas everywhere, and it worked flawlessly the whole week we were there. AT&T worked well. Over the air was spotty with few channels available. This is true hidden gem!! We will return! We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Route 2 is 1.25 miles away. Ride your bike to Ma's place on route 2 for breakfast. Locals place and food is excellent and reasonable! Be sure to visit the Copper Peak ski flying jump, only 7 miles from the campground. It IS the tallest ski flying jump IN THE WORLD and you can tram and elevator to the top. Stop at the Wakefield Visitors Center on the lake across from the campground to get a Buy 1 Get 1 free discount ticket for the jump. It'll save you a whopping $20.00!

This is a basic RV camp. Full hook-ups are nice. You park on the grass. There's a variety of campers and some are kept up better than others. There are more large pick-up trucks here than at most car lots, I think. When they start up, you can hear them really well. The park is located on a beautiful lake with a swimming area and playground. Nothing special, but I would stay here again as I pass through the area. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park. We had ample room for our Class C but it took some time to level off. Rest rooms were clean. We were right on the lake shore and the employees were very helpful and friendly. We only stayed one night and it was a restful stop. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice sites. Some are large while some are a little tight. Nice clean bathrooms. Sites with sewer have a concrete pad, rest are dirt or grass. We stayed on site 47 which is water and electric. This is a great place for overnight as you are passing through the area. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We got a lovely pull-thru with double width for a single campsite rate since we have a 45' with a toad....didn't ask for that, it was offered and we happily accepted. View is facing the lake and it's lovely. Staff very helpful with directions since the GPS coordinates from their website put us in the woods 30 miles east of the campground. They now have wi-fi. We were just looking for an overnight and saw this place. Dropped in and got a full service site--water, electric, sewer, and it was pull-through. Full cement pad although the water and electric are on one side and the sewer on the other at the rear. We decided not to connect sewer and use their dump station in the morning so we could view the lake. Great place. Quick service easy access and good overall park. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

The daily rate above was for a week. $95 a week. This was the best deal I have had in years. We are on lot 42, a grass lot, beside the bathhouse and it is the only lot here that is this rate with full utilities including 50 amp service. It is deep enough for our 40' motorhome and twice as wide as some RV parks. The view out the side and front is Lake Sunday. There are 5 concrete parking pads across from us and the daily rate is $35. After a couple days it has been quiet. We are using this as a base to see water falls in the area. Verizon signal is a little weak but works. Park wifi on this site is fantastic. The wifi antenna is mounted on the bathhouse roof. There is a lake beach area in the park. Looked at the bathhouse and it did look dated but functional. Satellite for DirecTV worked great. We would definitely stay here again especially on this lot. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This place is overrated other than value, $17 for an interior 50 amp FHU back in site. Most sites are not level, we were on a side hill site and could not get completely level using all of our blocks. Someone tried the site next to us, but gave up and paid extra for a site with a slab. There are 5 sites that have concrete pads, but they are very close to each other with side by side hookups that might not work (water and electric on one side, sewer on the opposite front corner!!!). Verizon cell and broadband were both good. TV via batwing was fair, 3 PBS stations and NBC, but NBC would come and go at times. The CG has mostly seasonal people who are less than friendly, the women in the office (a 5th wheel) greeted us with 'what do you want' when we stopped to check in. The town itself is dead, no way would we spend a summer here. The only good thing around is Hurley, WI (next to Ironwood, MI). It has a great main drag, Silver Street and was once known as the 'hell hole of the range' with its 67 saloons. But it is down to around 30 now and makes for an interesting place to visit. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

What a gem!! City run park and this park shows the pride of a beautiful city built around scenic Sunday Lake. The lake itself is something off a postcard and to wake up each morning and see the lake is worth the price of admission. Almost all the spots have 20/30/50 amps, water and sewage. Most of the sites are grass and many on the lakeshore. There are four or five concrete pads that are 100% level and clean. The restrooms are cleaned each morning, nice roomy showers that cost .25 but are well worth the small cost. I could see staying here for the entire summer! We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice public park campground. Had a W/E site on the lake. Grass could have used a cutting, but wasn't bad. A number of longterm campers mixed in with overnighters. Pay showers, but they were clean and worked just fine. Nice park area for walking along the lake. Easy access to/from Hwy 2. Would stay here again. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Good water and electric. I didn't use the showers but was told they are pay showers. Nice views of lake. Some grass sites and a few cement sites that are nice. Water and electric are on wrong side of rig and will require extensions for these cement sites. Sewer needs long hose as it is at the end of the site. Friendly host on site in the afternoon. Cash or check only. 50 amp is $2.00 extra. We camped at Eddy Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
