The park was very convenient to the interstate, it had a great view of the countryside. Staff were great. A small hidden gem in the country. I would definitely stay again. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Good stop over close to I-94 with some hi-way noise and few amenities other than FHU and child playground. Owners friendly and helpful getting us settled for a night. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Entrance road is somewhat narrow and curvy. Electric and water only, 30 amp pull-thru site. Sites share a utility pole and are therefore back to back. They are extremely narrow. Slides on the back were almost touching. At the front you are facing your neighbor. Doors are right across from each other with only enough room between for a picnic table. Not enough room for both to have awning out. There was only one picnic table for 2 sites. When we checked in at 2 pm, woman in office added $5 early check-in fee to our bill. I asked what time check-in was. She said 3 pm. I told her I had looked online and couldn't find any check in time. They don't have a website. I said most campgrounds have check-in between noon and 2 pm. She didn't even bother to respond. They also charge $2 per pet per day. If they are going to charge extra fees, that should have been explained when making reservation. Women's bathroom had a terrible sewer smell. Had to walk right back out. Picnic table was covered in mold, could not sit at it for fear of staining clothes. The place was clean and had nice views. There was some road noise from interstate. Due to extremely narrow sites and deceptive pricing practices, we would never stay here again. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice campground for a stop over for a night or two....the owners are very friendly and courteous......the campground is big rig friendly, the sites are close but they are level and the fhu services worked great....the campground couldn't be any easier to find, its right off the exit, there is some interstate noise but it didn't bother us....WiFi was decent, we got 40+ ota channels and our ATT signal was good.....didn't use shower house or restrooms.....the view was overlooking the lake and this is a quiet relaxing atmosphere.....we would stay again if passing thru the area....very clean campground and friendly owners..... We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

As others have noted, easy access off I-94, road noise is there, sites close together, trees might block satellite access but ours was ok in site 3, sites are "side by side" so you see your neighbors entry and not their sewer hook up, they have wifi and it worked ok, no cable tv. Site 3 is perfectly level. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We spent one night. The site is beautiful, and convenient, right off the interstate highway. But that meant you could hear the traffic all night. We tried to call ahead to two other locations, both of which were full. Both recommended this site, midway between them. We were quite pleased with the result. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Easy on and off the freeway, we didn't notice any noise. Great for a 1 night stay. Sites were very close together. They charged an extra $2 for a pet, but had a nice pet area. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great little campground for an overnight stay. Level pull-through, full hookup sites made for a quick & easy set up. Beautiful views, not much noise from nearby I94, great place to walk your dogs. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stopped for overnight stay while heading across I-94. Owners are very nice. Campground has a beautiful view overlooking lakes and fields. Even though it is close to I-94 the traffic noise level is not too bad overnight. They have had a lot of rain lately and some of the sites could use some additional gravel. Biggest downfall is the shared utilities so one camper pulls in one way with the one next to you pulling in the other way. We had a trailer next to us and their slide out was less than 2' away from ours. A little too close for me. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Very convenient off of Exit 77 on I-94. A nicely kept facility, very clean bathrooms with plenty of hot water (key required to gain entry). 2 showers each in both men's and women's washrooms. Very large grassy manicured field for leashed dogs to stretch their legs. Friendly staff/operators. Free WiFi. Nice playground set with patio table nearby. Trees among pull-through RV sites provide shaded areas. They have the RVs pull in facing opposite directions next to each other so your passenger sides are open to each other as opposed to your outside camping area facing the "backside" of your neighbor. Your picnic table is next to your neighbor's. Standard spacing between RV sites. Our particular RV site did not have a fire ring, just a picnic table, but most or all tent sites had fire rings and water. I did not notice if there was an outside sink to wash dishes or whether laundry facilities were available. Adequate for a quick overnight stay and our needs. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

We arrived here at about 7:00pm on Friday night before Memorial Day without a reservation. Had no trouble getting a spot with full hookups, although these are limited. Full hookup sites are close together but level and very adequate. They do not, however include a fire pit. Bathrooms/showers are immaculate. View of the lake is beautiful. The owners are very friendly and right there for whatever you need up until 9pm each day. They also maintain a small store of items for sale including firewood. There is a small playground area for children but not much else to do but relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Only stayed one night on our way to Theodore National Park but would definitely stay again. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Be aware that you pull off the ramp when traveling north/ west and its almost an immediate turn into campgrounds. Great little campgrounds for overnight or a short stay. Very clean, well set up for pull thru site- no sewer hook up but dump station is available. Great view and fresh air. We stayed overnight. Staff courteous and very friendly. Excellent choice if you're working your way west/east across the prairie as its just off Interstate 94. Most of the sites are pull-through facing the lakes. Pelican Lake, an EXCELLENT CHOICE for birders, is located within a mile. Not much for shopping except a small, local grocery store. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearby is another RV park, that has a small number of boats for rent. We rented a pontoon and motored out to Egret Island to view the roosting birds (do NOT go on the island, please). We had not seen this much diversity and density of birds since we visited the Everglades! Excellent birding opportunity.

We all read into reviews; I did. I read the reviews and the frequent reference to the beautiful lakes and assumed that they were accessible. Not! The park is on very high ground that drops away sharply giving a commanding view of the countryside including Pelican Lake. It is very big, quite pretty and more than 1/4mi away with no access. Enjoy the view.

This is a very small park: 14 rv sites, the first six with sewer, and 10 tent sites. More interesting the rv sites alternate pull-through and back-in and share a pedestal breaker box in pairs. All power is 30amp. The paired rv's are very close.

Wi-Fi was difficult to get started, then fine. Antenna TV pulled in a lot.

The bathrooms were not fancy, but were fresh and clean. Shower was hot with a lot of force. There is no laundry.

The owners are very pleasant and helpful and keep a clean and well maintained park. Not much to do in the area, but a nice place to stop. Be careful, it is right next to the I94 exit, within 500'. A big berm cuts down on hi way noise

$30.00 is a little pricey for this simple, basic park and the pet fee is just not right. $2.00 per dog, per day is just a money maker, there are no pet facilities. What are we paying for? Our dog, like most rv dogs, is very scheduled. I have to pickup after her twice a day. So I am paying them $2.00 a day for the privilege of cleaning up after my dog. RV'ers with more than one dog, staying a couple of days could be paying a lot. It would be better if this was a deposit to be returned if no dog mess was found. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.
