We loved this campground, but we were only staying one night as we were travelling home from the Dakotas. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. Owners, who live on the CG, run an excellent CG with nice gravel sites and cement pads. They are level and spacious with some shade. There is wifi and cable with many channels. We camped at Country Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

As the name implies, this campground is out in the country. No road noise, some trains come by but we never heard them at night. Check in was friendly and efficient. Restrooms are on a key system. You submit $5.00 which is returned when you hand the key back in. Restrooms are very clean but I did not use the laundry. Campground is very clean. Sites are level and plenty of room for our trailer and truck. As for entertainment, they had so much to offer. Paddle boats are free, there is a chip and put golf course, two playgrounds, bikes, horseshoes, recreation hall, and more. Plenty of room to walk your dog and a trail to explore. Wifi worked well and Verizon signal was strong. Each site has a concrete patio with picnic table. I am sure there are seasonals here, but they were not obvious which speaks well of the campground. We were only here for one night but there looks to be a lot to explore in the area. This is definitely a campground to consider for a longer stay. We camped at Country Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A wonderful campground! The owners are at it 24/7, cleaning, trimming and working. Our site was not a pull-through but the owner led us around and let us drive across the grass to our site, so effectively, it really was a pull-through. There are big shade trees everywhere. Sparkling clean bathrooms that lock with a key. And a sparkling clean laundry, only $1.25 for a wash and $1.25 for a dry. No cable. Free wifi but our hotspot worked fine. There is a pretty patio you can sit on with rocker chairs or a swing and flowers and bird feeders and pretty birds everywhere. We wished we could stay much longer! We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in town. Great saloons and taverns that serve great pub food including walleye and fries baskets. The Fireside Restaurant is pricey but they have a fabulous view and great food!

From the time we checked in we were greeted by friendly management who wanted to make our stay enjoyable. We told them we were on our way to Alaska at which time the owner advise he had lived there and was able to offer a lot of information and pointers on things to see and do. Site was easy to get to, lots of room to maneuver . We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

I honestly want to give a bad review just so that people will stay away and I am more likely to get a spot when I come back through the area :-) , but that would be selfish of me, so I won't. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the owners who went above and beyond for my wife and I, brought us to our site, brought us over firewood, and were the perfect hosts! The campground was extremely clean, well maintained, grass was well kept, had all of the necessary hookups required, level pad, areas for kids and families to play inside & outside (rec hall), nice concrete pads & dining tables at each site, fire pits at each site, paddle boats, recycling, free wifi, bikes, free 30 channel TV, playgrounds, ladder golf, horse shoes, basketball, volleyball, 9-hole chipping golf course, very clean & well maintained laundry room, bathrooms & showers, and so much more! It reminded me of going to my grandparents in the country and always having something to do and play with, while also being so well kept and maintained. Finally, a 5 minute drive to downtown Detroit Lakes where you can enjoy all of the fun there as well. We can't wait to come back with our two children! Thank you! We camped at Country Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great campground experience. First, access was easy. Major roads until last two turns and both were easy to navigate with a big rig. Check in was quick and I was met at my site by the owner who directed me in. The sites are close side by side but we never felt crowded. If you have a group, it would be a great place to camp together. Our site was gravel with a concrete patio surrounded by grass. It was level, as most of the sites in this park. The laundry next to the office was clean and very reasonable! It was open 24/7 too. The rec room was well stocked with games and large TV. There is also an outside play area with several games including chip shot golf and fenced play area for little ones. We didn't use the restrooms however every part of this campground was clean. I would not only camp here again, I would recommend it to anyone heading to Detroit Lakes. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

We were traveling in Minnesota, headed for Duluth, when a cold front came in with snow. We needed to alter our route and I called Country Campground to see if they were open. They were closed but they said they could accommodate us for an over night stay. We were greeted by the owner and he guided us to our site. Over night the snow fell blanketing the campground in a couple inches of snow. We asked if we could stay another night to wait out the snow. Not only did we stay an extra night, but we were given a couple of beautiful winter squash. The next morning the owner helped us to top off our fresh water tank (the park was closed and the water to the sites had been shut off for winter). The campground was beautiful, even in winter, and the Owner was super friendly and very accommodating. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We stayed here last year and liked it. It was even better this year. A little hard to back into but we made it. Our trailer is 40 feet long and is often a bit hard to fit in some spaces.

Large Spaces for our 40' Motor-home, lots of grass. Site is gravel for the coach and concrete pad with grass on all sides of the coach. Pull Thru. Clean Shower and bathrooms. Decent laundry. Big rec room, good cable, err dish network distributed to each site. WiFi was good the first day up till 9pm, then it never worked again during our 5 day stay. ATT hotspot worked great, Sprint also had good service. T mobile didn't work. There were a lot of free things to do on the campground, peddle boats, horseshoes, chip golf, volleyball, rec room. Full hookups worked well. Friendly owners. The only odd part was the need tor a key to the restrooms. $5 deposit. Had not experienced that anywhere on our 3 month sojourn so far. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

A very nice, family run RV park with a good feel to it. The registration parking area is a little tight. The office was closed at 2 p.m. and I had to go next door and knock on the door. No response. Eventually yelled thru a window and got someone's attention. He was very friendly, if not efficient. $5 deposit for a restroom key. Please invest in a keypunch door! When we left, we tried to return the key but once again the office was closed. Back to the house. He comes to the office and sees the register is empty. Back to the house to get $5 from his wallet. Our site was nice, level and roomy. Roads and sites are gravel. Utilities worked fine. Good cable. We had no trouble getting satellite reception. Lots for the kids to do. No pool but plenty of lakes around. The small lake adjacent to the RV park is not really suitable to swim in but they do have paddleboats you can use. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

This was a "mom and pop" park and it was a lovely surprise. The woman who checked us in was quite pleasant and gave us good service. The park had plenty of shade and spaces were level. This is one of our last stops on our way home from the U.S. road trips we take every year. It's always busy so I would recommend reservations. It has a lake with paddle boat available to the campers. It's a few miles off U.S 59. There's a large green space with different games for campers to use. It also has a large games room with pool table, goose ball and ping pong. Great overnighter!
