3 RV Parks near Grand Portage, Minnesota
Aug 2019 - $45.00
Previous review is spot on. I would add that it's poorly designed, poorly managed, and poorly maintained. I struggled to get anyone to make a reservation and when I finally did, they don't ask what you're bringing or what size you are. Most sites are back in but there are a few pull throughs. My site was uneven and the sewer hookup looked to have been just half way repaired and the fitting had no threads or cap. There was a plastic pail over it. WiFi was pretty good when it worked, but it went out frequently (several times a day) and would stay off for anywhere between 5 minutes and several hours. Day is $45; Week is $200; Month is $500. Pretty good deal for a week or a month, but overpriced for what it is for a day. I stayed 4 days and it was almost as much as a week. Many people seem to leave their units there and just come on weekends. The location and view (from some sites but not all) are beautiful. - MWM

Adequate no-frills RV Park about 5 miles from the Canadian border on the shore of Lake Superior. Best feature is the view of the lake. Management is pretty much hands-off of the RV park and grass gets pretty high and shaggy. No rules. Trash in firepits. Semi-gravel sites are sloped. FHU/50amp utilities worked fine. High water pressure. No shade trees so sat reception is good. Park wifi is pretty good, but drops off frequently. Expensive for what is offered. Marina is adjacent to park and associated with the Casino and RV park, so many campers had boats along. Check-in for RV park is at the Marina office. Fires allowed in provided rings. Pretty much zero cell reception here. Stayed for 4 nights and never saw a bar of connectivity. Casino has dining and allows campers in to use pool and spa. Trading post next door had basic provisions and fuel, otherwise closest civilization is about 20 miles away. - Todd Hancock

Checking in is made difficult by having to go to the Marina on the end of a dead-end road and then get turned around to go to a site. The ease of turnaround is determined by the current parking situation of boat trailer parking. You may want to stop where you see the restroom building. Campground road and sites are gravel. Utilities mid-site worked fine. The campground Wifi only seems to work for a handful of sites in the middle of the park but it is available in the Casino/Lodge. No Verizon signal at all, we were told ATT would work. Laundry is one washer and one dryer. Restroom was not cleaned very often. - cwier

Very nice stay. We were not bothered by mosquitoes at all. Hiking and plenty to do. Bathrooms were muddy but were cleaned. Patrons could have been better about cleaning up after themselves. - willcampforever

Like boondocking but have a nice bath/shower room. Very child friendly..kids walking and riding bikes all the time...but never a problem...lots of free space between each trailer. Lovely area with scenery, trails to walk, things to do outside. But if you want to play on computers and cell phones, forget it, unless you have your own hot spot WI FI other wise they won't work. Kind of nice, we thought. There was room for all tents, screen house's and RV's from little to hundreds of thousands, with space to park your cars. - kaths
