Needed a couple of nights in the Mankato area and decided to give Land of Memories a try. The site was closing for the season in a couple of days, but when we were there all was open. The park has greatly improved in the past few years with a new loop west of the main and older campground. No sewer or water, but 50 amp, very long and level sites, and easy in and out. Land of Memories is a city park with soccer fields, disc golf, river access and the PowWow grounds—a very popular park. The park does have a reputation for partying and loudness, but while we were there it was nice and quiet—of course, the fact that it started snowing the day we left may have had something to do with it. The city of Mankato is just a few minutes away for any needed supplies. We camped at Land of Memories Campground in a Motorhome.

We stay here occasionally as it's close to home and the nearby state park is always booked. This is a quiet city park with wide open spaces for frisbee golf and soccer tournaments. Peaceful in general. The sites are very large and grassy with sites in the newest section almost too large. The newer the section, the fewer the trees. The bathrooms require a pass code to use, which is okay as there are a number of non-campers using the area for kayaking on the river. We camped at Land of Memories Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Camp site are really nice and big, that is the only thing good!! The bathrooms are very dirty no toilet paper. There is no one here that cares people are screaming and partying until almost 4 am!!! We are set to stay 3 more day. We are leaving even if I can't find another campground because of the holiday! We camped at Land of Memories Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this park because an electric site at nearby Minneopa State Park was not available and we needed it! It got up to 97 the night we stayed.

Land of Memories has 2 sections. An older section in the trees - electric and non-electric. The newer section is laid out around a rectangle, well spaced, electric, but almost no shade. We were in the newer section. Recommend sites along outside of the newer loop near river or in old section where shade is more adundant.

We did ask at the small office if we could leave our camper later on Sunday and we were able to (the campground was virtually empty when we left Sunday).

There is also a park here with a popular disc golf course, soccer fields and a building that can rented out near the entrance. The dump station is connected to that building and is around an uphill curve. This necessitated us to pull in straight going off the curve to line up the trailer for dumping, then back up to get back on the curve to drive out.

Interesting notes - After we went to bed my kids watched what they described as a "parade" come in to a site across from us. One camper trailer, 4 tents, 8 cars and numerous people. They partied until at least 4am. I assume they had a great time based on the scattered cans and bottles littering the ground and picnic table on their site, as well as the person "sleeping" in a camp chair near the fire pit at about 8am. Ok, this isn't our type of camping, but at the end of the day this didn't ruin our experience. Also, we saw another group that apparently made their own site along the river for tenting. These incidents make me wonder as to overall security. If we need to return to Mankato, though, I would feel comfortable staying here again. We camped at Land of Memories Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I only gave this park a 6 because there was no water nor sewer on any of the sites. The campground, however, is very nicely laid out with level, large, grassy sites. Each site has a picnic table on it. The electricity read 120 amps on my meter. The dump station is off site, and the park manager told me "it is about 2 miles that way". I never did find it. There are walking trails within the park as well as "Frisbee golf," playgrounds for the kids, and soccer fields. I stayed here mid week, and the park was almost empty. I think that the $25 nightly fee is too high for the services provided. We camped at Land of Memories Campground in a Motorhome.
