I can't say enough nice things about the owners of this park. Our pickup just barely managed to run long enough to get our trailer parked before it died. The owners went above and beyond to help us, offering to give us a ride to pick up a rental car (even though the nearest place to get a rental was 45 miles away). They rearranged their reservations to accommodate us, letting us stay in our site for 3 days longer than planned. The park itself is mostly seasonal sites, but is very clean and tidy, quiet and friendly. An excellent experience.
The nightly sites are easy to get to and are all back-in. Interior road is gravel and sufficiently wide for maneuverability. The park is clean and tidy. Check-in was quick and easy, access to the park is through a key-pad gate so the area is secure. - Wendi53
May 2016 - $48.00
Checked in and was amazed at how beautiful this campground is. The owners are friendly and willing to please. We stayed the weekend that they were welcoming back the seasonal campers to the campground. We went to our site and it was real big. We had electric and water but no sewer. The area where we set up our camper was all grass and very nicely cared for. The campground has a lot of trees but they were not a problem to back the camper into the site. Quiet time is 11 pm and it was quiet before this time. That was great. The bathrooms were clean and there is a laundry on site if you need it. They have a pool that is big, clean and very nice. They also have a big chess and checker set, horseshoes, basketball and a playground for the kids. - spierce617
Sep 2011 - $37.00
Beautiful shady open campground with friendly hosts, excellent food, nice lodge with hot tub and swimming pool, and Ann Lake just a 2 minute walk away. - HRT Jr
Aug 2018 - $36.00
We have stayed here in the past and would return again. All staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of things to do in the park: playground for the kids, golf course, pool and lake access. - JMarr1
Jul 2017 - $22.00
Lots of rules but no enforcement. This place fills up on the weekends with party goers. Smokey campfires are encouraged, burning trash is acceptable as are rugs, parking on the grass, barking dogs, fireworks and staying outside late. None of these are "allowed" but nobody is there to enforce them. Pretty quiet on the weekdays. Friendly staff. Some of the lots got very wet with no drainage during storms. Cater to seasonal campers. Rates were very high for what was provided. We have no plans to go back. - GOTTOYS
May 2017 - $36.00
No boat or canoe rentals. Hard to fish on docks because of seasonal pontoon boats take up all space. Sites are too close together but are full hook up. No planned events for families with kids except bingo while we were there. - Rjpruden
Jul 2016 - $36.00
This campground is being redeveloped by two couples who love what they do!
Sites are pull-throughs and relatively level.
Each site has water and electric.
WiFi and cable to come.
Firewood $10 for a huge load.
New office, showers, restrooms, laundry.
Golf nearby in Milaca.
Pleasure to stay here! - Sir_Charles395

This was a nice relaxing park (RPI) and we enjoyed our stay. We were allowed to pick a site, so we walked around and selected a nice treed site that was a back-in but very wide streets and wide lots made for easy backing. Good 50 amp power and good, not great, water pressure. Several channels into park from lake but many reeds in water. Good pool area and even had Saturday night entertainment that was free and enjoyable. Nice to see so many people there with kids and everyone having fun. Park has boat and trailer storage in center of park which detracts somewhat from it being a 5 Star resort. Many park models and seasonal sites. Several "older" trailers and open storage on lots detracted from 5 star rating also. I needed RV repair and called the service that the office recommended, and said worked weekends also, but they never called back. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would stay again if in the area... - retditto
Oct 2007 - $8.00
This is one of the 2 AOR parks in Minnesota. It's a huge private membership park with permanent sites/park models, but they do have 12 sites for AOR. We were offered a site "in the wooded area" or one of their permanent sites that happened to be vacant. We took that one for it's "clear view of the southern sky". It was paved, and the satellite reception was fine. Their map shows 2 AOR sites on the lake, but we weren't offered those. The park was nearly deserted, as it was end-of-season. Cute towns nearby of Wahkon and Isle with touristy shops open on weekends. Good grocery store in Isle. Did not use restrooms or showers, pool was closed of course. They do shut the water off for the winter when it gets colder, but we lucked out. - barbilou
Aug 2018 - $41.00
Excellent park. Lawns are well manicured, water pressure was excellent as was the WiFi signal strength. Lots of room between sites. Well placed trash cans. We have a 43 foot fifth wheel and had no problem backing into our spot. Pad was paved and level. Plenty of room on the paved streets for maneuvering big rigs. Would definitely stay here again. - BBGuy
Jul 2018 - $35.00
Great park, very roomy. Clean and well manicured grounds. Nice setting with a country feel. Good golf course and casino next to park. Only complaint was at our space the sewer drain pipe was about 1 foot above ground which made my drain flow up hill. This was not the case in all sites but more than just mind. - 69 scotty
Sep 2017 - $35.00
If you arrive before 2PM and do not wish to pay the $10 early check-in fee, you can leave, or sit in the parking lot until 2pm. We decided to pay the $10, and it was reflected on the receipt. What burned me, and I didn't find out until I got my bank statement, they charged me twice for the early check-in. When I called them to contest the charge, they referred me to my receipt.
The campsite we had was difficult to back into as there was a campsite marker light on one side and a trash can on the other. The hook-ups were centered on the site for easy access, included water, electric, sewer and cable tv. Leveling wasn't a problem - JBu
Jun 2012 - $20.00
This is a beautiful campground with large sites. There are plenty of trees, for both shade and privacy. There are some good hiking trails and a public boat launch onto the Rum River. As with most Minnesota state parks, the bathrooms were clean, the rangers were friendly and extremely knowledge and the park was very well cared for. This park can be a destination on its own, or makes a great base camp for activities on Mille Lacs lake. - stpauligirl123

Have stayed at Father Hennepin Lakeview CG many times over the last 10 years, and have noticed a marked decrease in rules enforcement the last few years, with this year being the worst. Only supposed to have one vehicle per campsite, almost everyone had more than one, plus a boat/trailer. Boats only supposed to be parked in a certain lot, but instead they took up all of the overflow parking in the cg the entire time. Most drivers go through the campground at a very high rate of speed: both campers going around the loops, and boaters going to the in-camp boat launch (there are other launches in the park). There was dog waste all over. There was garbage all over. Dogs are not supposed to be on the beach and yet there were many there every time we visited it. We like this cg very much, but are sad to see it slipping down into a low-class place. I did talk to the ranger in the office a bit, not sure what good it did, but hopefully the park management will make an effort to get this park back to where it used to be. It might take a few years before we want to go back. - minn camping family
Aug 2011 - $40.00
Great park with two different campgrounds in it. We chose Maple Grove Campground with no electrical hook-ups. This campground was well spaced out and tons of trees. The kids enjoyed biking around the trails and biking to the bathrooms. The "hidden" paths were their favorite. Used the beach and fishing pier. Too windy for catching fish, but still fun. Did the Hiking Club, geocaching in the park, and saw the albino deer. Very pet friendly. Camped with three other families, very quiet park. Would visit again. - agnesattic
Jun 2016 - $30.00
County fairground with RV hookups. $30 rate is for water and 50 amps. Not much to do here but your only a hour from the Twin Cities. We stayed here as part of a Habitat for Humanity build. - jprisbe
May 2014 - $1.00
This is a C2C club membership resort and we actually stayed free. The campground is located right on the Soo Line South Trail which makes it easy for getting right on the trail! It appears the campground has only been around a couple seasons. Showers and bathrooms were clean. Good water pressure and hot water never ran out, a huge plus when you come in dirty from trail riding all day! Has a small game area in lobby, where you can also buy snacks. I would say the only thing this place is lacking is shade and a pool. - A hitch and hop
Jul 2014 - $31.00
We have stayed with South Isle Family Campground for the last 5-6 years and have never had a bad experience. There are activities for the kids, hiking trails, Geocaching galore very close and a friendly atmosphere. The bathrooms are very well maintained (important when you tent)! They have an outdoor pool and well manicured grounds. The staff are always friendly and helpful. - 3lilbugs

Jun 2008 - $30.00
If you have kids, they will love it here. Train rides, warm pool and nice owners. This is a campground that recycles everything, which is great. Will go back for sure. - bunny102
