We found it difficult to find campgrounds in this area, so we took what we could get and were pleasantly surprised that as basically the only place in town the campground was both reasonably priced and very well maintained. All of the roads are gravel and easy to maneuver even when pulling a 40 foot 5th wheel unit. Our site was level and plenty long enough for us to park in front of our trailer. Sites have both a fire pit and picnic table. Most sites are spacious between trailers - our site was on the end of a row and was too close to our neighbors for my preferences. The sewer connection was not threaded so campers had to be resourceful in finding ways to keep the connection secure. The grounds have beautiful, mature trees and there is a swimming pool, tennis courts, a rally center, fire pit in a common area and a nice covered pavilion with picnic tables. The restrooms were very clean; I did not use the showers or the laundry. The booking and checkin experiences were great and the staff personable. The park was quiet and most pleasant. We would definitely stay at this park again. - the Fishers

Nice older park which is well kept and has a bunch of nicely shaded site. Bathrooms are pretty clean but not modern. Pool is basic but nicely kept. Nice place for family fun. Wifi was decent. Site was level. No cable but a good selection of OTA channels available. You can wash your RV on site with office permit. - Camaraderie
Jul 2019 - $41.00
This is a lovely park, nicely laid out, lots of big trees and grassy areas. Most of the spots are level. No cable but at our spot we were able to get sat. dish. Spaces have plenty of space between them with nice grass. Just outside the convenience of the St Cloud but you feel as though you are in the woods. There is a pool. - Cindy and Rick

No reservations - First Come First Serve only. Very nice county park with dirt roads. Sites are basically park on the grass. There are 3 sites with 50 amp service, about 15 with 30 amp service, and more with just 20 amp mostly for tent camping. It was very quiet here, not much going on during the week. Weekends may be different!!!!! Lots of trees but a few spots where satellite will work and I found one with 30 amp service - power and water only and dump station when you leave. Good place to stay when exploring the area and St Cloud. - Johnny xxxxx

Just passing through MN and came across this little gem in Rice, MN. Can't beat the price! Checked in on a Sunday afternoon, the place was pretty much deserted. Quiet, 44-site campground with something for everyone. 50 amp service, water, tons of activities such as frisbee golf, horseshoes, basketball court, playground for the kiddos. Flush toilets and clean showers. This is an honor system campground. We picked our site, set up the motor home and walked to the office and put our $20 in an envelope. Very cool! Easy access and plenty of room for our 42' Gulf Stream. We had dinner down the street at a quaint little bar and grill called Rumors. Try the fried chicken, for sure! - Ekstrom Fyra

Nice family park, little winding road to the park but easy to find. Quick friendly check-in no escort to site, site was narrow but acquitted, gravel and a bit difficult to level, lots of grass. Lots of children all over the park, lots of activities for the kids, slides, swings, pool, miniature gold, basket ball and big wheel rentals. No wifi and no cable TV but OTA was fair. - Tahoetom
Aug 2018 - $44.00
I give this campground a 7 because the roads are hard to navigate. The trees have grown up and that makes access to some sites difficult. The campground has plenty of activities for children. The pool is entire campground is booked solid oneeekends. Weekdays are not full. There is a neighborhood of seasonal/permanent RVs but they are set back from the transient campers. Access is good, except in the park. Very little exists right outside the park. One must drive for 15 minutes to get great amenities. WiFi is good, satellite is not. I would not return here because I am 40' plus a tow. - 12858

We stayed in the overflow along a golf course with water and electric. It was very green everywhere, but a nearby railroad had many loud trains and train whistles, especially while we were attempting to sleep. This is an Airstream only park, though we saw a motorhome of a different brand also. it was a busy weekend and the overflow was on grass and quite level, so we were glad to find it. I don't know what they have with full hookups since most of it seems to be sites owned by Airstream owners. Overall it met our needs for the night except for the trains. - AirstreamGene

Stayed here a few weeks ago. It started off with an awful smell in the office upon checking in. Things did not get much better. The place is very run down. It is overloaded with seasonals that are run down, and there is junk everywhere. They need to cut back the branches of most trees to prevent trees scratching your camper. Site was level. People party all night here. We will not be back. - jejmjj5

What is with all the terrible reviews? It also appears many of the reviews are for another campground in the area because AJ Acres doesn't even have a pool. I wouldn't believe what you are reading on here because it seems many of the reviews are not for this campground but rather a different campground in Clearwater. For some clarification, YES this campground has dirt roads, when it is dry they can be dusty and when it rains they can be a bit muddy, but you are camping-if you want tar and concrete camp in your backyard. No pool but a large beach. It is camping you will encounter dirt and bugs. You don't want it get a hotel. This is a great place to camp but be prepared to CAMP!!! They have amenities so it isn't like you are roughing it. Water, electric, fully stocked store, beach, bait, fishing pier, shower houses, swing sets, etc. Not first class like a resort but great for a family weekend out of the city to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. We camped here several times a year and keep coming back. - campit

We decided not to stay here once we had a conversation with the lady at the front desk. We stopped in at about 8PM just looking for a place to park and sleep and be on our way by 8AM the next morning. The individual was very rude and really didn't want us to stay. It was if it was to much work and when she gave me the price for 7 people she had the nerve to say you might as well stay at a hotel because it will be cheaper. From the outside things looked nice but if that is how people in Minnesota treat people passing through, - Cudpal

The staff that we encountered was not very friendly or helpful. One male subject acted as if he was put out when asked a question about mail service. We had our own Kayaks but they will not transport you if you do not rent from them. We were willing to pay a fee for transportation to the river put in but no deal. There are a lot of seasonal people here so, maybe the staff takes better care of them and to check with the transient travelers. - JR 108

Our camping club, the MN Going Gophers, held their fall camp out at Two Rivers this year. We had 16 units in attendance so we got a group discount. While the nightly rate is on the pricey side in the summer, it's very reasonable before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. The staff was very accommodating and helpful with making the arrangements and while we were camping. An employee stopped by during our stay just to remind us that the pavilion was available if we wanted to use it and to see if we needed anything. The campground is beautiful with lush, green grass, large level sites, and well maintained buildings and landscaping. The lower campground is surrounded on three sides by the two rivers. Every site in the lower campground has a good view of the rivers and there are many sites right on the river shore. The upper campground does not have a view of the rivers but is closer to the office, pool, pavilion, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and it's a short walk down to the rivers. There was a small pine tree on our site that prevented us from backing in far enough to park our truck in front of the camper, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to open the awning. We were able to park the truck perpendicular to the camper though so it wasn't a problem. One unusual feature of this campground is that they have a security gate. You have to pay $20 for a gate card and register every vehicle with the office. You get the $20 back when you check out. This was a little inconvenient when a member of our group arrived early Saturday morning but couldn't get in the gate. Even when her husband, who had a gate card, went to let her in, an employee noticed and said she couldn't go in because her car wasn't registered with the office and the office didn't open until 9:00am. There is a large parking lot next to the office that she had to leave her car in. - Juniper94
Jul 2015 - $45.00
Overall very satisfied with this park. Staff was generally friendly except for a couple of people working the pool area. Sites were great. Layout of the campground was ideal. Very level and spacious. Nearby river offered plenty of activities. Tubing was fun. Beach and pool were well maintained and the kids loved both. Mini golf was a well maintained course, but cost extra. Camp store had the bare minimum. Nearest store of any significance is 20 minutes away, so bring what you need. Several minor details to keep in mind. 1) Campground was difficult to find. Signage was not easily visible, with grass and weeds covering most of the sign and GPS was not helpful. Trying to find it in a downpour in a big rig with a tow in farm fields was challenging. Office staff was not answering phones to guide us in. 2) Shower houses, although clean, were limited. There are only two for the entire camp with one toilet and several showers in each. Plan ahead if you have to use it! Its a hike! 3) Advertised WiFi was essentially non-existent from our site. Didn't bother us, but be aware. Despite these inconveniences, we would definitely stay again. Perfect for a long weekend away with the kids. - mm1407

Aug 2016 - $50.00
This was our first visit to El Rancho. There were fun planned activities for our children, however the campground itself was not very kid friendly. Very small playground only for very little children. The swimming beach got very crowded with other campers. The campground itself was too large and spread out, not an easy walk to the main lodge. It was nearly impossible pushing our jogging stroller because the roads were so sandy. Therefore our older children couldn't use their scooters or bikes because of all the sand and unevenness. The campsites we and our other party had were very uneven. We had full hookups but the campsite was so tight and uneven it was hard to empty our tanks at the end of the stay. Neither us or the other party we camped with had picnic tables either. So we are our meals separately in our own campers - Jberg82

Nice setting, with relaxed feel. Some of the sites were tight and uneven. Horse riding was expensive, but kids enjoyed it. You can also walk the horse trails but not real smooth. Overall we enjoyed. - RVP CAMPER
Sep 2008 - $30.00
Ours was a single overnight visit while traveling. While far from physically ideal for overnights, this is an amazing campground basically directed to horse-campers, trail hikers, small boat fans, and family outings of more than one or two nights. For those uses, our scoring would be two steps higher. The facilities are rustic but well-maintained. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very concerned that one enjoys one's visit. Our stay was at the end of the season, and the campground was largely empty. We would have no hesitation about visiting again. - nasa42a

This is a very peaceful location. The owners are great. We were driving through Minnesota and needed a place for the night. They were very accommodating and the site was great. It is a campground with many retired campers and they really do not have kids at the campground. It was so relaxing and clean that we may make a trip back just to relax sometime. We really appreciated the hospitality - Cudpal

Rating reflects no cable and no wifi at sites. But for money it is a great place to camp. Huge sites, grassy and well kept. Fire pits and tables. Mostly seasonal campers with permanent sites but there is still room for the drop ins. Road down to water , office, and pool a bit narrow. Watch speed bumps. Owners are pleasant and welcoming; they live on site and are available. Bar and restaurant on premises and food was good. Lots of weekend special events for people. Would return here. - Jmh510
Aug 2010 - $31.00
This is an off the beaten path location which is absolutely beautiful chain of lakes. Boaters bring your boats. This campground has many seasonal sites but does offer a special new street of back in sites with full hookups and good satellite coverage. Campground has marina, launch, indoor pool and bar. They have no dedicated website so a call is in order. We will likely return to this area. - jones4110

What a find! Speak we arrived in this county park for just a one night stay and wish we had known how unique it was to plan at least a week. The campers were very much campers and were enjoying the out-of-doors at the family atmosphere here. A mixture of tense and RVs and very happy families. The sides could easily hold big rigs and were spacious. They included electric hook up for an additional charge and 10 sites had water all have picnic tablesand fire rings. Because the park is small it makes heading to the beach easy. If you have a boat there is a boat launch on site. With so many people out on the water fishing, tubing, and waterskiing. Many locals come this way so reservations would be needed in advance especially for weekend stays. We would certainly return here if the opportunity arises. We highly recommend this location for families, seniors, and anybody wants a little bit of tranquility. There is a dump station on site as there are no sewer connections at the campsite. - John-Jean

Very nice, family friendly campground. The prices is right. Lots of shade and there are several sights with paved pads and lots of grass, not all are this way but some are. Pet friendly. Very clean restrooms and showers. Nice large beach great for swimming. Nice playground. Easy boat docking area and large dock for fishing. Nice fishing lake. Would recommend. - babytygger
