Drove around both loops looking for an opening with w/e. Almost gave up until a man cutting the grass stopped us and led us to the last available site. They keep 2 sites open for first come first served, so probably a good idea to make a reservation if you want w/e. This is an older feeling campground, maybe a little run down, but we were very satisfied with our site. Ours was level, but it looked like some were not so much. Lots of shade, and the short walk to the lake was very nice. We spent a very relaxed night there. It is about 8 miles total from the Interstate. - villager04

Although this campground is near the interstate, I cannot recommend it. The site was not as portrayed; said full hookups and was only w/e; dump station was unusable due to standing water; many limbs hanging over roadway creating hazard; restroom looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in days. I cancelled a second night on our return trip from Arkansas. - Red_1955

We enjoyed our stay. The bathrooms were very clean..unfortunately there were litterbugs throwing trash on the ground. Which is hard to believe people would trash such a beautiful place. But the staff was great and kept things very clean and picked trash up quickly. The walking trail along the lake was pristine. We were visiting the park on a bird sighting. The Brown Booby. We didn't find the bird, but we did find a new favorite spot for camping. The trails were beautiful, the staff left us firewood. And bathrooms were clean! It's an easy 5 star. - Lakelife70

Since I am a Thousand Trails Member the cost to stay at this park was prepaid with my membership. This was close to the worst RV park we have ever stayed at and I will never be back to this RV park. This was the first park we have visited since becoming members and as a result we are very disappointed in our Thousand Trails purchase. When we arrived at the park it was close to 20 minutes before anybody showed up at the gate. We requested a site with full hookups and 50 amp. However there are very few 50 amp sites and no 50 amp sites had full hookups. Only a few of the 30 amp sites have full hookups. The roads are narrow and in need of repair. Plus most sites are not even close to being level. There was some low hanging tree limbs that also needed to be trimmed back. The spot we finally settled on had a nice concrete patio and a grill. It was also more or less level once we set up. It was hard backing into my spot because of the narrow road and trees. Note that I tried several spots before I finally settled on the one we stayed at. This is the only campground I have ever visited where I had to select four wheel drive to back into one of the spots. That spot was at a Tee in the road, that required backing uphill on a tight turn with a washed out road. On the plus side this park was very quiet and the deer were plentiful. The swimming pool was very nice and the bathrooms were OK and did appear to be clean. A fresh coat of paint would do wonders for the bathrooms and well as some ventilation. It was very hot during our visit and as a result the bathrooms were extremely hot and stifling . There is also a big problem with chiggers, fleas and ticks so take plenty of Deep Woods Off for protection. - Mcrider

This is an older park, the roads need work but they didn't impact our stay. Buildings and amenities are old and could use some work but they are clean and functional. We stayed a few days just to recharge our batteries so to speak. My husband caught small bass kayak fishing. AT&T cell coverage was good. Getting into the park was no problem. The roads inside the park are narrow but not an issue. The staff is super nice here and drove us around in a golf cart to pick out our site before driving through pulling our fifth wheel. Would stay again as a place to stay while traveling again. - sueellen_64

I was disappointed that there were no FHU sites that were also 50 AMP available. The pool was beautiful and very refreshing. We rode mountain bikes around the facility every day. The laundry room was adequate ($1.50 to wash, $0.50 to dry), although I had to cycle the clothes 3 times in the dryer on high heat before they were fully dry (3 times on medium heat and they were still damp). The roads appear to just be poorly maintained. We did see several people on just water&electric sites that just left their sewer hose open to the ground to drain off their grey water. The "clubhouse" looked functional, but also just a bit neglected. There was no WiFi that we were able to find access to during our stay. The Verizon & AT&T data and cell coverage was functional (4G LTE, and 2-3 bars throughout most of the park). The setting is beautiful and very relaxing. Almost full coverage shade on our site, though it was a bit treacherous and not many sites in that area were easy to achieve mostly level accommodations. We would likely stay here again if in the area. Our site was at no cost because of our Thousand Trails membership. - TxDorsey1975

BED BUG INFESTATION!! Do Not Stay in CABIN #4‼️ We paid for 3 nights but after the first night realized the next day we were getting bites. We searched for management on the campground and told them of the bug problem and was given a "free night". When we got home and went to the doctor we were told we had BED BUG BITES!! They are all over my body! We tried to inform the camp ground of the problem. We called and left messages. 2 days later still no response! So please be warned, these bites are horrible, itching, and disgusting! Let alone you have to treat your home and car! I would HATE for this to happen to anyone! - Nie_cee-53

The campsites are nice, but the campsite is very old and not maintained well. The roads are very bad to the sites. The maintenance/repairs are very bad. When we requested help for our site due to a open neutral on the power pole was told sorry, the guy won't be back till Friday, it was Wednesday. Make sure you have a power surge protector!! There is no gate code or attendant on duty cause there is no gate. Seems you can just come in and claim a site. The showers were horrible with black mold and the restrooms are open between men's and woman's rooms. Never saw showers where you pressed a button and the water runs for 10 seconds and have to hit it again. The picnic tables are moldy and the fire ring is a bunch of rocks. no soap and dryers are dead. The smell of urine is really bad. - Hoth

Stayed in the older loop at the front of the park. We used levelers and our site seemed one of the flatter sites in that area. Hook ups were fine and it was very quiet night. Check-in staff offered no info or map about the park. They waited for questions to be asked. - sp123
