Read the previous reviews and decided to give this campground a try. We're so glad we did. We stayed 2 nights on our way west. Previous posts fretted over the narrow rural roads but we had no issues in our 44 foot motorhome. The utilities are at the very back of the site, necessitating a water hose and electric cable long enough to reach the back of your rig. The sewer inlet is also at the back of the site. Make sure you have enough sewer hose with you to reach the back of your rig. The roads in are rural and more narrow than many folks are used to, but when we met 2 pickups and 3 cars coming in, they all moved over to the shoulder and let us pass easily. The campground roads are all dirt and gravel and easily traveled. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and put us in a site with no other rigs on either side of us. They were also very agreeable to allowing us a site that was open so we could use our satellite. The sites are all back-ins, and there is no planting or separation between sites, just gravel and dirt. All at this park were extremely friendly, and the quiet and serene surroundings by the lake was just what we needed. I'd definitely stay here again, should we be in the neighborhood We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for one night on our way cross country. Very narrow roads to get from highway to the facility. Park was nice but not good choice for a one night stop. It has pretty lakes etc but the site was dirt / gravel and not level. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

As noted by other reviewers, this park is in a remote location and requires driving a couple of miles on narrow county roads to reach it (hopefully, you don't have to meet another RV). The park is pretty with a nice lake. The basic entrance fee is reasonable but, as I'm finding in more and more places these days, they charge extra for wifi and cable TV (they've learned from the airlines how to gouge the public). There was an electrical problem with our site, but it was repaired within a couple of hours. Our site was mostly dirt and sand and it rained hard during the night. The next morning - mud. It would be nice if the owner would invest in some gravel. The staff were friendly and worked to meet our needs. The exit road from their property back to the county road is different from the entrance road, which is good, because both are much too narrow to meet anyone. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 1 night and it was wonderful. We were in site #1 which was across from the large dog area. Our 2 dogs enjoyed chasing a tennis ball there very much. We had a picnic table and fire ring. Setting was very peaceful. Easy setup and exit. Road in was narrow but we had no problem with our 40 foot Class A motor home. We would stay here again. As an overnight stay, it was off the beaten path and a little difficult to find. The one way in was rough and so narrow that meeting another vehicle was like being on a causeway with water on both sides. We were in #1 again, which was really a wide spot with utilities. No tree or picnic table. Friendly check in, with 2 ladies helping a new person. Had a nice pool. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

You travel for a mile on what seems like farm roads (and I don't mean "FM" roads), but that is a good thing as the other parks in the area seemed to be right beside the highway.

Grassy, back-in sites beside a cute lake complete with oversize ducks. Acceptable as-is but brand-new owner plans on upgrading the Bath House and Laundry.

OTA channels sufficient but DirecTV box available for rent. As has been mentioned, satellite wi-fi is available only in clubhouse. I stayed here for a week, however my next visit will be for a month. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

It was explained that during Katrina, many, many from the gulf coast fled north to Hattiesburg... then stayed. The city has mushroomed. Good shopping, mall, Sam's Club and eating strip.

What a pretty park this is. The entry and exit roads are one-way roads, so no worries of running into anyone. Roads in the park are easy to navigate as well. There are over 70 sites, most all of them are back ins. They have a few cabins for rent as well. Most of the sites back up to one of the lakes on the property. Check in was fast and friendly. The laundry room and bathrooms were clean. We were is Site 41, full hookups and 50amp. Site was a bit unlevel and average width and just long enough for 37-foot Class A and room on the site for our tow-dolly. There is no WiFi but our Verizon Jetpack worked fine. There are plenty of places for dog walking, with paths around the lakes. They also have a fenced dog park. We stayed February 6-13, 2018 and paid $20 a night with a combination Passport America and Good Sam discounts. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

A little off the road in a country setting. Super friendly owners who take pride in their family oriented campground. Mostly long term/weekend guests with sites that back up to the lake. A few pull thrus available for overnight guests. No cable but OTA channels. No WiFi except at Office building. Very nice relaxing atmosphere. Cute dog park as well. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We used directions on website, which worked out well. Park is located off I-49 on back roads, but not an issue for 40MH with tow. Entrance is one lane but one way. Check is located at office. We had to turn around to get to our site. Luckily no other rig was checking in, so we had room to turn around, otherwise it can be tight. Internal roads are fine. We were in a transient site, pull thru, grass, had to level, 50 amp, water, sewer. Site fit rig and tow with extra room. Since this was a grass site, it wasn't well define but for one night, worked well for us. No amenities at this site. No cable or WiFi. There are mature trees, we used an external satellite instead of sat on the rig. Small dog park but plenty of green space to walk dogs. The pool was closed for the season. There is a lake located center of park. Park was far enough away from highway, didn't hear any noise. The park was clean and maintained. Exit road is also one lane, one way. Also, even though park was full, it was quiet at night. For the price, it was well worth the value. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice front desk people who gave us a site next to the laundry as we needed to wash our clothes. The park had mostly full time residents. OTA TV was good as it was close to Hattisburg. The park met our needs for an overnight stop. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is about 20 minutes outside Hattiesburg in a rural farmland setting. It's really a beautiful landscape but would be an exceptional resort with some updating, a little redesign and other improvements. There's a LOT of permanent guests who work in the area so the outgoing traffic early each morning is busy. A few lovely lakes with wildlife and fishing on the property. Quite nice and accommodating on-site management. Very pet friendly with a large dog run.

Be aware: The drive-in is a long one-way road. (Although not marked as such when you enter: don't fret about oncoming traffic). We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Is about 2 miles off Hwy. 49 on country road. Easy in and out. If someone has kids there is plenty of fishing. Quite place to stay. Stayed in one of 2 pull thru sites that were just for people staying the one night. Did not get WIFI so don't know about other sites. Staff who checked us in was very nice and informative. Don't try turning around in the space in front of the office if towing. TOO short and narrow. Would enjoy staying a week here. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Not a resort. Just a nice older rv park set way back on narrow winding roads! Friendly staff. We were in site #1 which was a great long pull thru adjacent to the exit and the dog park. Perfect for our one night stay. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very beautiful park! Very friendly, helpful staff. My site only had 50 amp plug in so they gave me an adapter to use. Nice ponds with fish and ducks swimming. I only stayed two nights as I was just passing thru the area, but plan to spend a month or two next winter. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.
