The "camping" is all level, and the site we chose was back-in. All pull thru sites (approx.200) were full time permanent. I can live with folks working on cars, abandoned vehicles, RV's with fire damage/ windows out, city folk walking thru campsites throughout night (several openings to lot), trash everywhere, city pound which backs up to park w/overflow of dogs barking all hours. But in 30 yrs. of camping, this was first time ever I was awoken 2:00 a.m. by 3 cop cars to tell me neighbors reported my truck had been broken into. I love the music in town, but won't stay here again. Seriously unsafe. - mitig8er
Dec 2016 - $20.00
Came to Clarksdale to check out the history of the Delta Blues music. This is the closest campground to town and is a fairgrounds. You self register by envelope, we never saw an actual person. Most of the full hook-up sites were occupied by long term campers, so we took an electric only site after filling our tanks per a nearby water spigot. Site was paved and moderately level. There were some gravel pull through sites but they were not very long, the paved sites are back-in. The paved road with sites is a dead end so be aware. We did not feel unsafe as there are "street lights". With rain, there were many puddles so we were glad we took a paved site. It was fairly quiet, some highway noise and heard a train in the am. Restaurants not too far away and Kroger and Walmart nearby. - mohocamper

If coming to Clarksdale for Blues Music this is about the only choice in town. A few long term residents but was not a problem. Pros: inexpensive for full hookup, mostly asphalt pads, clean and mowed (festival weekend), staff regularly drove through - and were helpful, close to downtown. Cons: gravel pull throughs can be very muddy when rain, sites on inside the drive are only 30 amp and no sewer (but still pay $20), and delayed maintenance in general - 2-3 sites have broken spigots or electric problems but no notice until you try to hookup, also ants prevalent. Also no sign that drive is a dead end. - BandD

The park is beautiful, sites are spacious. Directions form the reservation center to the park had us get off 55 at exit 233 and take CR 36. CR 36 was closed. There was a detour sign that took us on a very rural back road. We had to ask a homeowner if the road did take us to the campground. Signs to Persimmon Hill were confusing. If we had not stopped at a MS welcome center and got a map of Lake Edin we would have never found the park. Phone number listed for park was not answered. A better way to get to the park, all locals use this route, is 55 to exit 227, W on CR 32, N or route 51, R to CR 35 the entrance to the park will be on your R. Would have given the park a higher rating if there was some indication of the road closure and better signage. Also disappointed there was no map to indicate sites on recreation.gov when we make our reservation on line. It only had site numbers. Would have liked a lake view site but had no idea what were lake sites. Again with the map we picked up at the Welcome center we were able to see lake sites, but that was to late for us. - DDZ

This park is hard for us to rate. The park itself is lovely. Administration while we were there was weak. Cars were parked in our site when we arrived. The rangers did come and direct us to another site, but it was a bit disappointing not to have a lake view when we had reserved our site many months ahead. And even though a ranger told us where to change our site to, another ranger came along the next day and tried to charge us $40 more. They said they couldnl't go online and change the site we were assigned--and neither could we because the website prevents changes that close to arrival. - Breeze On
Apr 2018 - $10.00
This lake and park is absolutely gorgeous! We stopped for only one night during our trip to east Arkansas. There is an 8' concrete picnic table, charcoal grill with round cement table near it to use for your BBQ tools. There is a fire pit with firewood stacked nearby. Lake views are beautiful.
Please note. RV trip wizard was directing us to I-55, exit 227, then to CR 35, etc. These directions would've taken us to George Cossar State Park. Thankfully, we used the directions on the Persimmon Lake COE website. I-55, exit 233, east on 36, then right on 39 (Enid Dam Rd), then left on 34. Then follow signs into campground. - cjnexp

Oct 2018 - $10.00
This is a fantastic campground, I think one of the best we've seen. The campground is well maintained and beautifully situated on Lake Enid. Sites are huge and have full hookups. Roads are paved and easy to navigate with a big rig. The sites have concrete landing pads, and most are large enough for an RV, tow vehicle, and boat. Fishing is very popular here; there is a boat ramp in the campground. We were here over Columbus Day weekend and the park was full, but it was still quiet. If you don't have a lake view from your site (which many do), then it's a short walk to enjoy the lake. We stayed for 6 nights; wish it could be longer but we have other plans already booked. We will definitely be back. - MrsBowman
Sep 2018 - $10.00
Spent 3 nights here and would definitely come pack. Many pull thru sites and back in. Full set ups. Concrete slab in great condition. Jewel of the campground was the camp hostess Tommye. She brought cold drinks over while I set up and checked in every day to make sure I was happy. On several days people from the campground came and blew away the fallen pine needles on the pad. The sites were large, well kept and clean. The bathroom was clean and the shower house was just as nice with AC and adequate parking. Was a very well kept, modern campground. - Sewwhatsports
Jun 2018 - $17.00
This campground is a parking lot with RV hook ups connected with the Isle of Capri Casino. There is water, electric, sewer and free WIFI for $17. The space between the parking spots is the same width as the parking spot, maybe 12 feet. Nice space but there are no tables or fire rings, just an empty asphalt parking lot. This is not a vacation stay but for a night, it is secure, cheap and easy. The casino it's self, has seen better days. - Metro Johnson
Jun 2017 - $16.00
This is a casino parking lot with E/W/S hook ups. It provides a safe location to overnight or stay if you are gambling. We used it for one night and will use it again if passing through. I did not see any shower / laundry facility. - A hitch and hop
Oct 2016 - $30.00
We were there for a week with a festival going on. Nightly rate varied.
All hookups, just parking a lot but they leave you plenty of room. Well lit and security present. I felt safe at all hours. Casino has a great Friday night fried catfish buffet. - SlicksMom
Jul 2019 - $22.00
Great park on a beautiful lake. Our site was perfectly level when backed in. Immaculate bathrooms and showers, didn’t use them but checked them out anyway. The hiking trail is fabulous. They have a disc golf course, but much of it is under water right now. Not the campgrounds fault. Site was easy to back in. - Goodgame
Apr 2019 - $24.00
Some sites need some maintenance. Overall a nice campground. We stayed in 33 which is just long enough for a 26 foot camper and a crew cab 2016 Ram 1500. Site was large. Do not book site 16, it is very unlevel. Any site on the outside of the loop looks good. I would call if you have about site length if your trailer is over 26 feet. Staff was friendly and helpful. - Joe Morris
Apr 2018 - $17.00
We stayed one night as were passing through. The campground was a bit off the highway, but not too far. Sites are mostly level, but not all. Ours was fine and we had beautiful view of the lake. We arrived just after hours, but found a couple of staff members who were extremely friendly and helpful. They told us to park in any open site and pay in the morning. AT&T phone service worked great. We would stay here again. - Dan6942
