Got one of the 6 FHU sites in Phase 1. It's a large and level gravel site with a grassy area; picnic table, grill & fire ring. Water quality is pretty good; electric good. Got some OTA TV stations; Verizon coverage good phone gets 2 bars on 4G. Jetpack picks up 3 bars on 4G. We walk along the road where old, old sites used to be starting with 16-1 down to the levy, then wind our way to the trail behind the lodge across from the swimming pool Laundry room is close and reasonably priced. - Kerch Family

Since I am a Thousand Trails Member the cost to stay at this park was prepaid with my membership. This was close to the worst RV park we have ever stayed at and I will never be back to this RV park. This was the first park we have visited since becoming members and as a result we are very disappointed in our Thousand Trails purchase. When we arrived at the park it was close to 20 minutes before anybody showed up at the gate. We requested a site with full hookups and 50 amp. However there are very few 50 amp sites and no 50 amp sites had full hookups. Only a few of the 30 amp sites have full hookups. The roads are narrow and in need of repair. Plus most sites are not even close to being level. There was some low hanging tree limbs that also needed to be trimmed back. The spot we finally settled on had a nice concrete patio and a grill. It was also more or less level once we set up. It was hard backing into my spot because of the narrow road and trees. Note that I tried several spots before I finally settled on the one we stayed at. This is the only campground I have ever visited where I had to select four wheel drive to back into one of the spots. That spot was at a Tee in the road, that required backing uphill on a tight turn with a washed out road. On the plus side this park was very quiet and the deer were plentiful. The swimming pool was very nice and the bathrooms were OK and did appear to be clean. A fresh coat of paint would do wonders for the bathrooms and well as some ventilation. It was very hot during our visit and as a result the bathrooms were extremely hot and stifling . There is also a big problem with chiggers, fleas and ticks so take plenty of Deep Woods Off for protection. - Mcrider

As a couple in our 50's with grown children, we are not looking for playgrounds or activities for children. This campground is where you go to get away from it all. Not a busy campground and plenty of sites always available. The lake/pond is lovely and the boats/canoes are free to use. The pool is refreshing. The playground needs updated for sure but your children could safely ride their bikes and play as there is plenty of room to run around. Our 6 yr old granddaughter loved the pool and riding around on our golf cart. We love coming here.... cell service with a cell booster is great and our Dish TV works fine. The staff are wonderful. There are sites with 50 amp electric on both sides of the campground. We are mushroom hunters and found so many chanterelles here this summer. The staff does their best with the funds Thousand Trails puts into the campground...the grounds are always neat and mowed. I've been to other Thousand Trails sites that are often packed with full timers taking up the spots...not my thing. You won't find that here - if peace and quiet is what you are looking for, look no further. - Sandra Watson

No park employee at site. Another resident said to just take any open site. The pull thru sites available had an upslope with deep mud ruts, The water connections were in a below ground box that was filled with muddy water. The available back in site was paved and level concrete with above ground water connection. Unfortunately there was a large dog nest door with a leash that extended to the available site. Dog was barking and growling, not friendly. We did not feel safe and did not stay. - mroswell

We stayed 5 nights at park. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a couple staying overnight and informed that they had never met the owner and spoke with him by phone. There was only one open paved RV slip and we set up for the night. The RV Park is located on a hill and some of the slips are gravel needing maintenance. The park has many full time residents and construction workers staying at the Park. Our neighbor was noisy yelling at his dog late into the night and early the next morning. At 5:00 AM the construction workers begin leaving to go to work - most of them have diesel trucks that are noisy. We moved to another slip the next morning located at the far east end of the Gun Club and the remaining stay was quiet. We never met the owner! - FT Newbie
Nov 2015 - $15.00
A delightful surprise. A small park tucked away on the owner's acerage. Near to town, 5 back in sites and 5 pull-thrus. All are gravel and fairly level. Jim, the owner, was great. He was helpful with directions to local places and a pleasure to talk to. A very basic park but with clean bathrooms and free laundry. Would definitely stay there again. - sara158
Jun 2018 - $10.00
Drove around both loops looking for an opening with w/e. Almost gave up until a man cutting the grass stopped us and led us to the last available site. They keep 2 sites open for first come first served, so probably a good idea to make a reservation if you want w/e. This is an older feeling campground, maybe a little run down, but we were very satisfied with our site. Ours was level, but it looked like some were not so much. Lots of shade, and the short walk to the lake was very nice. We spent a very relaxed night there. It is about 8 miles total from the Interstate. - villager04
May 2018 - $10.00
Although this campground is near the interstate, I cannot recommend it. The site was not as portrayed; said full hookups and was only w/e; dump station was unusable due to standing water; many limbs hanging over roadway creating hazard; restroom looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in days. I cancelled a second night on our return trip from Arkansas. - Red_1955

We enjoyed our stay. The bathrooms were very clean..unfortunately there were litterbugs throwing trash on the ground. Which is hard to believe people would trash such a beautiful place. But the staff was great and kept things very clean and picked trash up quickly. The walking trail along the lake was pristine. We were visiting the park on a bird sighting. The Brown Booby. We didn't find the bird, but we did find a new favorite spot for camping. The trails were beautiful, the staff left us firewood. And bathrooms were clean! It's an easy 5 star. - Lakelife70
