Despite having "water park" in its name, this is not a commercial park. It is operated by a Mississippi water authority governmental agency. Beautiful tall pines fill the campground and surround a nice, clean lake. We visited in the off-season, but certainly this is a destination for water recreation in the warm months. The park is conveniently located about 10 minutes from Laurel. Sites are spacious, shady, and convenient to the water. Facilities and grounds were very well kept. We had full LTE cell service (AT&T). This is a great spot for a sleep-and-go or as a longer getaway. We would definitely stay here again. We stayed one night in site #39, a pull thru site with full hook ups. - texasAUtiger
Nov 2018 - $22.00
We stayed just one night in a 40 foot fifth wheel. We don't typically rate overnight stops but this one is special. This is one of eight water parks that are part of the Pat Harrison Waterway System. The sites were full hookup, 50 amp, large level sites, in a great location with a great view. We were here in the fall and the weather was cold with a significant freeze coming. The park was nearly deserted but it looks like the kind of place that would be hopping during the summer time. The park is very well maintained and simply beautiful. I would definitely stay here longer if plans allowed. Sorry but too cold and rainy for photos. You might prefer a back-in site as they too had plenty of room. The pull thru sites in this loop had patios that faced the road which I am not at all fond of. - Moe and Flo are on the go
Apr 2018 - $22.00
Roads paved a bit tight in a few places. Sites: paved with 20/30/50 amp power, water and sewer. Mostly level but maybe at extremes of leveling system. Note on sewer - pay attention to location of sewer when positioning your rig. I had to use 2 hoses and back up 15' to reach the connection. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Showers had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Verizon phone and Mifi worked fine. No CG wifi. Host helpful and friendly. Reservations are made by phone only. It has a nice little lake for paddling around in and allows water skiing and jet skies. Nice quiet park with good facilities. We'd stay here again. - pumper9x9
Sep 2016 - $27.00
Staff at hotel not helpful during check in.
Park in bad shape, unlevel lots, pedestals leaning over, poor to no lighting.
Copied drivers license and credit card to keep on file in spite of objection.
Save yourself some trouble and find another park! - RevLaughlin
Dec 2011 - $27.00
Don"t go here especially if you are over 36ft. and towing. Sites just cut out in some woods on top of a hill above motel and low end apts. Be careful or you will scrape going in and out. If you make a wrong turn going into motel you are in trouble. Had to check in a motel, no office, clerk said to just go to top of hill and turn into park. No assigned spaces, finally had to get out of coach and wander around trees to find the last pull through. No amenities, no nothing, never again. - nathans
Oct 2010 - $24.00
It is located off US 49 about a mile south of it's intersection with Main Street, behind the Best Western. Check in is at the Best Western and the campground is maybe 1/4 mile up the hill and behind trees. This location makes for very tolerable traffic noise. You can walk down to the Burger King, Huddle Restaurant or a Catfish place. Spacious sites under tall pine trees. - Seawolf
Jul 2013 - $18.00
This rustic public park is located about four or so country miles off of US 49. Well marked on US 49, smaller signs lead to the park. Roads are narrow and some turns can be sharp, thus my questionable review on big rig access. However, there is little traffic, and there were 5ths in the park. We arrived late, set up in the dark. Morning light revealed an open lawn pine tree setting near a lake. Apparently, all sites are FHU. Utilities were fine. PVC sewer connects come out of the ground at a 30 degree angle, making the connect with the hose at risk of causing a spill. Site pads were chopped up by a ditch witch when electrical was upgraded, leaving unpaved trenches across the pad. Not all sites were level by any means, some had steep dropoffs to the picnic table. Primitive dump station was a PVC pipe, a screw on cap, and a potable hose connect about 20 feet away with no hose, all on bare ground. Never saw that before. Bath house doors propped open all night with the lights on, which attracted a large number of mid-summer insects, thus the unclean bathroom rating. Small, insignificant swing set for kids. An off road bicycle trail is available. CSpire phone was 4 bar 3G. DTV scanning picked up 40 channels. Manager was met at the entry gate in the morning, friendly fellow. Only 5 campers in the park, including us. Appears to be primarily a weekend local fishing spot. Overall, a very rustic feel with some significant site upgrades needed to the pavement and leveling. The high ratings by previous reviewers drew us to the park, but I can rank this CG barely average with a 4 compared to other high scoring locations. This is no 8-10. When in the area again, we would opt for someplace else, probably over to Bassfield. - The Happy Traveler
Aug 2012 - $16.00
This park is five miles off of 49. It is very quiet and peaceful with 28 sites. They have just finished up grading the electrical system. Lots of trees and plenty of space between sites. The pads are blacktop, some do need attention. They are in the middle of adding more sewer hook ups, so all most all site now have this. The road in can be narrow at times, but passable. The park people we dealt with were first class. This park is not used a lot, seems lost to the traveling RV'er. We were here this Labor day week end and there were only three of us in the entire park. The bad is we had no cell service, but that was good in a way. We will be back. Should have wonderful fall colors and spring colors here. - Frank Henn
Nov 2009 - $7.00
We loved this quiet, rural County (or State, not sure which) Park. The price quoted was based on Passport America rate. This park also had laundry facilities, which is rare in municipal parks (we've found). Lovely walking trails and a lovely huge large. The only negative was we were not able to get satellite reception because of all the gorgeous trees. We would most definitely return here. - tpw0607
Nov 2018 - $25.00
Nice spot to stay and get caught up on laundry and grocery shopping. The plus is it’s the home of Our Home Town from HGTV (the reason we stopped). Upon our arrival we were given the MS official tour guide with an article about Erin and Ben the stars of Our Home Town. Great place to stop felt like we were in a park in Wisconsin beautiful. Even tho it rained most of the time we were here we made the best of it. - pam.4him
Aug 2016 - $29.00
Stayed two nights. Park needs some updating. Pool was green. Site was gravel. Everything worked well. Second day woke up to ants everywhere in RV and tow vehicle. Had to spray. Still have occasional ants over a week later. Owner was a very nice gentleman and was helpful. Didn't tell him about ants as we left very early on departure. - Rvontheroad
Jan 2016 - $30.00
I can't say enough about the good people at this park. I injured my shoulder and couldn't drive for 30 days. The manager and his maintenance worker helped me with everything I needed to do -- hooking up/unhooking my car, connecting utilities, bringing UPS packages to me so I didn't have to walk to the office to get them.
Besides being an excellent, well-maintained park, the folks who run it are super. I will definitely stay here again when passing thru the area. - gfs1943
Sep 2018 - $26.00
Camp Host were great but pool and pond was green - we had a very hard time trying to level our fifth wheel on the gravel. Camp Host said it was their most level spot but we never got it fully level. A lot of trash down the hill from us - old mattress and garbage etc. and lots of ants. Would not stay here again. - Fun chasers
Jul 2003 - $21.00
Probably the nicest CG managers I've ever encountered and extremely easy to get to from the Interstate. The interior roads are narrow in some places but not a problem. Pad was concrete but a lot of earth over the top of it (rained heavily the night before). Peacefull with adequate shade but you could hear the trucks on I-59. Free fishing pond, playground for the kids. Lot of hills not good for bicycling. I used this CG several times as it's near the halfway point between my work in Louisiana and my home in Alabama. It's a good place to stay for a night while traveling. I don't think I'd stay any longer unless I had business in Laurel or was holed up due weather. Drawbacks - Highway noise which has increased since it's where the speed limit changes from 70 to 55 and the trucks love to hear the jake brake roar, fortunatly there is not a lot of traffic on I-59. The only other consideration is they allow full time residents and a couple of them had less than desirable rigs. - WPB
Sep 2009 - $18.00
Lake Mike Conner was our fist choice when we took our new to us camper out for the first time. We had a great weekend stay, met a lot of nice people and saw a lot of people we already knew. This is a lake that is very close to us. Seeing people I knew made me relax and enjoy my stay even more. It was clean and spacious, but nothing fancy, for us it was all about getting away from it all! And that's what we did. - Judy & Jr
Mar 2015 - $10.00
Being full time RVers, with an HDT & 38 foot RV and changing areas every month or two for work, it is important to find a site that obviously fits us, is pet friendly, and somewhat quiet. There is some road and train noise but quite tolerable. There is a fishing pond-not for swimming. The few full timers there are friendly and helpful. The owner is friendly, helpful and goes out of his way to make your stay a wonderful one. A simple clean and honest park which is way more important than a lot of extras. There is free WiFi and cable. I felt comfortable and safe staying alone during the day when my husband was working. - witchey1
May 2014 - $23.00
We stayed here early May just after it opened. The bathrooms were not done yet. At the time it would make a good overnight stop. Had to drive about 5 miles off the interstate to get to it, however. The owners were very friendly. Let us use a box for cable. Water pressure was high--use a pressure regulator. Place will need some work to finish but owner has hopes. - browne07
May 2014 - $23.00
Great park for overnight stay on trip from Tennessee to NOLA. Don't judge a book by its cover with this one, nothing fancy but gets the job done and fit our 43' RV nicely. Bathrooms and laundry facilities are being built. Great grassy areas for dogs. Owner is the nicest and most helpful we have ever encountered. Helped us set up and gave our daughter some Go Fish playing cards. - 3Peeps4Dogs5thWheel
Sep 2017 - $25.00
This is a small RV park with very nice owners. They were very helpful. There is 1 washer and 1 dryer but no showers or toilets. We were in a 40 ft 5th wheel in a site that accommodated our trailer and large truck with 8 ft bed. Our site included full hook-ups (water, power, sewer). Picnic tables are provided but ours was in poor shape and should be replaced; we did not use it. We stayed one week at this location while we were visiting friends in Collins, MS. There were a few long term clients who kept their sites clean and tidy. The location was very quiet. - Sheilas Reviews
