Sep 2018 - $23.00
Nice enough campground with mostly unpaved sites. We moved from site 94 because a corner was washed out and the gravel mound was too uneven or small for our motorhome. Moved to site 76 which was level and paved. Wonderful bathhouse. 50 or more channels OTA. No sewers or water in sites. - Michaeljess
Jul 2017 - $21.00
This was a great value for a state park. Some of the sites in the park have 50 amp service and are paved, but we were only able to get a site with 30 amp gravel site. Good amount of space between sites, but many tall trees prevented any satellite connection. No sewer at our site but there is a dump station available. We met a group of RV's there for a mini rally. The campground host was very helpful and friendly. We could only spend 2 days here at this time, but we would come back here. - SargeW
Sep 2016 - $23.00
In additional to the nightly fee there was an $8.50 reservation fee since we booked on line!
This is a beautiful park, lots of large hardwood trees fill the park. We didn't even try to get Direct TV reception! But could get some TV over the antenna.
Only problem we had was with the configuration of our site. It was raised up from the normal forest floor in order to be somewhat level to the roadway. But that buildup was rather narrow for our 5th wheel. So when making reservation beware of that since there is somewhat of a description of the sites on the website. Once we got the rig centered on the site it made for tricky navigation from the truck to the steps of the RV. Don't let that warning keep you from this park, just fore warned is fore armed!
Dump site at entrance to the campground. No threaded tap for hooking up hose to use our Saniflush.
The park is very close to the Watkins Woolen Mill and Home. Beautiful state historic site. The campground is on the land of the former farm. Very interesting and a must see. Only $4.00 admission per person! - Rick & Karen

This park is right in the city but it might be the nicest KOA we have been to. The place is landscaped nicely and the site were separated enough. The 2 dog runs were next to each other and are the biggest fenced runs we have seen in a campground. They were also grass covered and clean - piclif
Oct 2019 - $45.00
Convenient access to I-70, nice folks, good camp store, multiple pet areas. Reliable power, good water pressure, better-than-expected WiFi (at least near the office). Typical KOA layout with dirt/gravel interior roads, gravel pads & what seems like somewhat random design. There appear to be more than a few long-term guests & some of those sites really need a little love. The proximity to the exit means plenty of traffic/truck noise. In my opinion, KOAs are over-marketed & deliver less-than-average value even with their discount card. This location is branded as a "Holiday", but for me it is more of a "Journey" stopover park. I'd stay again, but simply for a night or two while visiting the area. - Mr_Mrs_T
Aug 2019 - $47.00
We typically avoid KOAs because they are generally overpriced with sites way too close together and they charge extra for kids, making them family UN-friendly in my opinion. This KOA should give lessons to all other KOAs as to how to provide a fun, family-friendly environment at a reasonable cost. We were only passing through so we only spent 1 night, but we would definitely return if we're ever in the area again. It was a convenient stop over for the night on our way to St. Louis. Check in was friendly and quick. Our site was easy in and out. They have fantastic amenities like a pool, bounce pad and mini-golf. We were pleasantly surprised that they did not charge extra for mini-golf like most KOAs do. I'm telling you, this place is not greedy like most other KOAs; they do not live up to the "Keep On Adding" reputation that KOA has established. We very much appreciated that they did not charge extra for kids. Thank you Kansas City KOA for doing it better than other KOAs; now I just wish the others would learn from you how to do it right. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile all worked great. - Love2Camp777

Jun 2019 - $32.00
Quick and easy access from the interstate. Only half the sites have FHU and most of those are taken by long-term folks. We stayed on the water/electric only side - one of the workers comes by three times per week to empty your black water tank, so we had no issues. Interior roads and sites are dirt/gravel. The sites closest to the interstate are not very level, we moved to a site close to Mize Rd and it was very level. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. - BnK_RVLife
Aug 2017 - $38.00
Stayed one night, while passing through. Site was beyond small, two tiered sloping site with RV and tow vehicle on upper level and all utilities (Full Hook Up) on adjacent lot. Two truck tires surrounded water pipe. Property needs sound barriers. NOTHING masks the sound of trucks, ambulances, or busses barreling down the highway. Don't count on any WIFI. Don't waste your time trying to hook up. The office/store are was a disaster. Nothing for sale. Empty shelves. The only pleasant thing about the place was the woman who checked us in. - Cammy Per
Apr 2017 - $16.00
As noted, an older park that needs some upgrades. We specifically told them we needed satellite, but didn't have any chance of getting a signal. No cable, but antenna picked up a good number of the free channels like Metv, AntennaTv and local networks. Laundry small but clean. Several machines out of order. Our site had a pond in the street next to us due to heavy rain. Lots of mud. A nice park across the road to walk the dog, and a RV center next door which is convenient for parts or supplies. - fulltimerjan

Road noise since right along I 70 but for an overnight stop it cant be beat, friendly staff goodsam discount, full hookup pull through. Easy access to the highway. We would definitely stay here again without a doubt. - knightab
Sep 2019 - $34.00
Good location next to I-70 and for overnight. You do have highway and train noise. We had a pull thru site but it wasn’t level (3” off side to side) - KSTraveler
Sep 2019 - $32.00
Good location for an overnight. Very friendly and helpful staff. You have to sample the large variety of cheeses in the Country Store. Gravel site, pretty level. Very quiet park, even though I-70 is close by. The bathrooms/showers a little dated but very clean. The 30 amp breaker at our site was weak and I had to reset it 3 times. I finally put a 30/50 adapter on my power line and had no other problems with the 50 amp breakers. The roads within the park could stand some improvement. All in all a very nice experience. - rdrunner

Jul 2018 - $29.00
The location is great, but it took some effort to find it. Better signs would help. The camp is old and the clientele seemed, uh, rustic. But our neighbors were quite friendly and helpful. We had no reservation, just drove in, and there were sites available. There was no staff on duty in the late afternoon, so we did the self-register. The neighbor shared the password for the wifi. Our electric box did not supply 30 Amp, but it did work with the 15-amp adapter, and we were only staying the one night. I would be willing to stay again for the convenience. And they are in the process of building a new bathhouse. - TexPaul
Sep 2017 - $30.00
Campground is full of permanent residents in small, old run down campers, however the two on either side of us were very pleasant people. When we first rolled in I thought OMG are we going to be stabbed? Sites are extremely small with uneven dirt and rock surface. We never did get our RV completely level. Husband had to use extension to reach sewer. $29.95 with no discount is an outrageous amount to pay for a dump like this! Sites were so small there wasn't room to put our satellite dish out and if we would have put our awning out it may have hit the camper next to us. I would not recommend this park. As for views....there is a junkyard across the street with trees growing up through broken down tractors and rusty road equipment. - MaryIrish
Jul 2017 - $27.00
The rate was $24.95 plus $2 for a third person. We paid with a check. To get there, you have to head for the Lowe's store, then turn left and go around the store to the back, to a driveway leading past a building with a construction office in it. Behind the construction office is the entrance to the campground. We almost thought it was just a house driveway, but it led to the campground. The place was almost or entirely full when we got there, but we had called ahead to reserve a spot. RVs were parked pretty close together. We were in a area for smaller RVs, but next to us was a big fifth wheel with the truck parked next to it. The rest rooms were old, but adequate, and were in the office building at the entrance to the park. The site was a back-in or pull-in site, was level, and had full connections. - vroecker

Nov 2019 - $33.00
Our GPS led us to the park via some narrow streets. We did not encounter any problems but... Signage is adequate. Check in was quick and easy. Interior roads are paved and in fairly good condition. Our site, 27, was a back in near the end of the row. We visited during the off season thus the park was not full and we had space. During peak season you will have slide to awning This is an urban park so expect noise including trains. Sites are level concrete with a small patio and table with patchy grass between sites. Utilities are 50 and 30 Amp with water and sewer situated to the left rear. There is no cable but a number of OTA channels are available. Wifi was not the greatest. It cut out often. There are laundry facilities on site. The machines were clean and in good working order but e thought it they were a little pricey. There are no restaurants or stores within walking distance. We paid a weekly rate of $231.03 including tax. No Good Sam discount on weekly rate. We found it to be a fair price and would return if in the area. - Rollin Ollens
Oct 2019 - $26.00
This is a small park in town. All of the Harry S. Truman sites and more of the Independence MO sites are within walking distance. The owners are helpful and the site was clean and quiet. - HaRV the Traveller

May 2009 - $10.00
OK, admittedly the park was officially open on 1 May and we pulled in on 2 May but our stay in this park lasted 10 minutes compared to about an hours worth of driving once we left the interstate. Reason, their directions are not correct (even as confirmed over the phone) and their address we learned doesn't show up on either of our 2 GPS units because it's a street address they made up. Getting to the park was over some really bad, pot hole filled roads out in the middle of nowhere. Sure they say they had recently had heavy rains but their roads in the park were dangerously rutted. The pull through site we were offered was just barely large enough for us and it would have been difficult to level our rig. The park gives the impression of being a permanent resident trailer park with mostly old and unsightly rigs. The park is selling lots/sites and the owners are supposed to maintain their lots but it appears they don't. The grass in those areas with grass was at least a foot high. The amenities they offer appear to be non functioning or non existent and a trip into town would be a long difficult drive. They offer no Wi-Fi and if they offered to pay our fee, we would not consider staying there. The signage to the park is only apparent when you get to the final turn off. Sorry to be so negative but this is one of the worst, most rundown parks we have ever visited - note we didn't stay for the night and just kissed off the non-refundable Coast to Coast fee. - 5thwheeler

We stayed at the Worlds of Fun RV Park for nine days while attending the Big 12 Soccer play offs and Championship. Great park with a friendly helpful staff. Convenient to Restaurants, Shopping and Downtown Kansas city. If we are in the area we will stay here again. - cudntherd
Oct 2019 - $50.00
Very nice park. While our site was long enough, it had a slope and our truck tail gate hit the hitch. We were able to park and disconnect on the level, but didn't care for the slope. Directions to the park using Google were not clear enough and we ended up in the Worlds of Fun Parking lot. Signs need to clarify which road to take to get to the "Village" which is the RV Park and accessed by going to Oceans of Fun Parking. If you have never been to the RV Park before, check your directions and don't trust Google Maps as it directs you to Worlds of Fun Parking and not the RV Park. - PatJ3

Stopped while traveling through Kansas City. What a nice find. Great staff, lovely park. Our back-in site was on a hill but tiered to be perfectly level. Would absolutely return for longer stay. - retiredhappyrvers
