If you are looking for a nice free campground, this is the place. I should really keep this gem to myself. But, for those who are looking for peace and quiet and back to nature, this is it. So, this site wouldn't let me put in free, so I put in $1, but it costs nothing, nada, zip, zero dollars, just a little respect for nature. It offers nothing in the way of amenities. No water hookups, no electricity, no showers and only vault toilets. There is potable water at the lake which you can use to fill your tanks. They are still developing this area too! This last year they put in some nice fire rings and a few re-rod lantern hangers. There are a ton of really nice sites. The roads are gravel, but they and the sites are level and easy access for campers large and small. Many of the sites are shaded and some do have water access within 20-75 feet of the campsite. It is a conservation area, not a state park. But, it is fabulous for peace and quiet. We actually meet people who understand nature. - hello all

Level sites but directions to the campground were very confusing. GPS kept telling us to go down dead end roads. No dog park and very little grass to walk dog. Bathroom was clean but very old. Laundry worked fine. No problem with our satellite. No wi-fi in the campground. - Fulltimersrv

A lot of permanent older campers in this park. There are large pull-through sites for short stays people which are close to the shower house and laundry which were nice. We only stayed for 2 days and wouldn't recommend staying much longer than that. Not much in the area to see but a good place to get stocked up at Wal-Mart and get laundry done. There are a lot of stray cats running around this park which I didn't think was very attractive. I counted over 26 at one point. - K. Flooyd

OK park for an overnight stay. Seems to be about five spaces for rent, the rest appear to be folks living in the park. Long pull through spaces: we did not have to unhook the toad. The park seemed clean and orderly with no railroad nearby, so doesn't qualify as an official RV park! Cable TV was very good. Water pressure seemed high so use a reducer. - renodick

Stayed here to attend a bluegrass show nearby. Full hookups work well. Steady, strong voltage even with several ac's working full time. Showers/restrooms are adequate and reasonably clean. Grass was mown. Not lots of shade in most sites. Never saw the "host". Will stay here again next year for the show. - bipeflier

The rate for 50 amp service is $24 and 30 amp. service is $22 for full hookup site. This is a Passport America park so my one night stay was $22. They also discount for Good Sam and Escapees Club. The park still has the slot for your fee and although the hosts camper "office" is on site we never saw anyone. The park is clean but old and the concrete pads have cracked. The entrance to the campground is the side street but coming from the north we missed it because the "Entrance" sign is set back from the road a bit. It was worth turning around for though. We use a Verizon data card and have a good connection for Wi-Fi. Some trees but mostly open and good for satellite tv reception. Overall a nice place to stop for the night. - Phantom Camper
Sep 2009 - $22.00
This park is OK for a one night stop. Gravel pads are long enough for a big rig, but narrow. The park has a steep entrance off the highway, but an easier drive is on the side street. There is no office. Upon arrival, you complete an envelope and place payment into a slotted container. We had some difficulty with some deep, loose gravel and nearly got stuck when trying to find a level spot within the space. The bathhouse is old and was not very clean. We didn't use the laundry facility. We tried to use our air card for internet access and had little luck. TV reception with an antenna was also very spotty. We would stay here again for an overnight stop. - retread
