Sep 2018 - $23.00
Nice enough campground with mostly unpaved sites. We moved from site 94 because a corner was washed out and the gravel mound was too uneven or small for our motorhome. Moved to site 76 which was level and paved. Wonderful bathhouse. 50 or more channels OTA. No sewers or water in sites. - Michaeljess
Jul 2017 - $21.00
This was a great value for a state park. Some of the sites in the park have 50 amp service and are paved, but we were only able to get a site with 30 amp gravel site. Good amount of space between sites, but many tall trees prevented any satellite connection. No sewer at our site but there is a dump station available. We met a group of RV's there for a mini rally. The campground host was very helpful and friendly. We could only spend 2 days here at this time, but we would come back here. - SargeW
Sep 2016 - $23.00
In additional to the nightly fee there was an $8.50 reservation fee since we booked on line!
This is a beautiful park, lots of large hardwood trees fill the park. We didn't even try to get Direct TV reception! But could get some TV over the antenna.
Only problem we had was with the configuration of our site. It was raised up from the normal forest floor in order to be somewhat level to the roadway. But that buildup was rather narrow for our 5th wheel. So when making reservation beware of that since there is somewhat of a description of the sites on the website. Once we got the rig centered on the site it made for tricky navigation from the truck to the steps of the RV. Don't let that warning keep you from this park, just fore warned is fore armed!
Dump site at entrance to the campground. No threaded tap for hooking up hose to use our Saniflush.
The park is very close to the Watkins Woolen Mill and Home. Beautiful state historic site. The campground is on the land of the former farm. Very interesting and a must see. Only $4.00 admission per person! - Rick & Karen
Jul 2018 - $29.00
The location is great, but it took some effort to find it. Better signs would help. The camp is old and the clientele seemed, uh, rustic. But our neighbors were quite friendly and helpful. We had no reservation, just drove in, and there were sites available. There was no staff on duty in the late afternoon, so we did the self-register. The neighbor shared the password for the wifi. Our electric box did not supply 30 Amp, but it did work with the 15-amp adapter, and we were only staying the one night. I would be willing to stay again for the convenience. And they are in the process of building a new bathhouse. - TexPaul
Sep 2017 - $30.00
Campground is full of permanent residents in small, old run down campers, however the two on either side of us were very pleasant people. When we first rolled in I thought OMG are we going to be stabbed? Sites are extremely small with uneven dirt and rock surface. We never did get our RV completely level. Husband had to use extension to reach sewer. $29.95 with no discount is an outrageous amount to pay for a dump like this! Sites were so small there wasn't room to put our satellite dish out and if we would have put our awning out it may have hit the camper next to us. I would not recommend this park. As for views....there is a junkyard across the street with trees growing up through broken down tractors and rusty road equipment. - MaryIrish
Jul 2017 - $27.00
The rate was $24.95 plus $2 for a third person. We paid with a check. To get there, you have to head for the Lowe's store, then turn left and go around the store to the back, to a driveway leading past a building with a construction office in it. Behind the construction office is the entrance to the campground. We almost thought it was just a house driveway, but it led to the campground. The place was almost or entirely full when we got there, but we had called ahead to reserve a spot. RVs were parked pretty close together. We were in a area for smaller RVs, but next to us was a big fifth wheel with the truck parked next to it. The rest rooms were old, but adequate, and were in the office building at the entrance to the park. The site was a back-in or pull-in site, was level, and had full connections. - vroecker
Jul 2019 - $30.00
Nice campground with some views of the lake. Variable shade. Lots of open grassland for exercising pets. Electric and water at each site. In the heat while we were there, it would have been welcome to have a more shaded site! Clean dump station with two dumping sites. - NebraskaNancy
Jun 2018 - $25.00
Excellent campground and facilities. Perfect spot with easy access to the lake for swimming, boating or fishing. Have stayed there before and definitely will again! - Pittcrew
Jun 2018 - $35.00
Sites are fairly level with utilities placed in the right place. This is a very busy campground on the weekends. We stayed in loop b which was just fine. We stayed here over Memorial Day and the noise level was non-existent. We camped here in a 40' motorhome. - illini777
Jul 2019 - $38.00
Beautifully maintained park. Camp host was very professional and welcoming. They take great care of this park. Expansive lawns and great views while traveling across the dam. Our pull thru site was just big enough to keep our tow vehicle hooked up if we needed to. The only downside of this stay was working through Roverpass to book the site. Not responsive and disconnected feel. We needed to cancel and re-book due to rv breakdown a week earlier. No response. Found out the cancellation policy later on & were told we had to contact the park directly for any re-book/re-use of fee paid. No contact info for park other than Roverpass. I would not recommend using Roverpass if there is a way to contact the park directly. We had specified certain site preferences which were ignored/not addressed - would have been nice to know that they had passed this info on to the camp host, which appeared was not the case. Our dissatisfaction is with Roverpass Reservation Service, not the campground or camp host. - LizzyWA
Apr 2019 - $38.00
Only overnighted here. No signage directing you to the campground from County Rd DD, so be careful or you'll have to turn around. Park seems to have been built for smaller coaches, despite their reservation system accepting big rigs. The drive thru sites are short and built with a bend in them. I think this place is overpriced and I would not return. - TH travelers
Sep 2018 - $30.00
Summer 2018, if coming in from US-169 to DD, the town is a mess of road construction. You will loop around on F and cross the dam before getting to CG. We stayed 1 night and were assigned a partly shaded pull thru with 50 amps. Nice level site on the outside of loop. Not the best of values given the location. Sites vary a lot here, but the host is pretty good about site assignment. OTA TV and Verizon broadband were both good. - Bob and Inga
Nov 2019 - $50.00
We stayed at the Worlds of Fun RV Park for nine days while attending the Big 12 Soccer play offs and Championship. Great park with a friendly helpful staff. Convenient to Restaurants, Shopping and Downtown Kansas city. If we are in the area we will stay here again. - cudntherd
Oct 2019 - $50.00
Very nice park. While our site was long enough, it had a slope and our truck tail gate hit the hitch. We were able to park and disconnect on the level, but didn't care for the slope. Directions to the park using Google were not clear enough and we ended up in the Worlds of Fun Parking lot. Signs need to clarify which road to take to get to the "Village" which is the RV Park and accessed by going to Oceans of Fun Parking. If you have never been to the RV Park before, check your directions and don't trust Google Maps as it directs you to Worlds of Fun Parking and not the RV Park. - PatJ3
Oct 2019 - $42.00
Stopped while traveling through Kansas City. What a nice find. Great staff, lovely park. Our back-in site was on a hill but tiered to be perfectly level. Would absolutely return for longer stay. - retiredhappyrvers
Nov 2019 - $33.00
Our GPS led us to the park via some narrow streets. We did not encounter any problems but... Signage is adequate. Check in was quick and easy. Interior roads are paved and in fairly good condition. Our site, 27, was a back in near the end of the row. We visited during the off season thus the park was not full and we had space. During peak season you will have slide to awning This is an urban park so expect noise including trains. Sites are level concrete with a small patio and table with patchy grass between sites. Utilities are 50 and 30 Amp with water and sewer situated to the left rear. There is no cable but a number of OTA channels are available. Wifi was not the greatest. It cut out often. There are laundry facilities on site. The machines were clean and in good working order but e thought it they were a little pricey. There are no restaurants or stores within walking distance. We paid a weekly rate of $231.03 including tax. No Good Sam discount on weekly rate. We found it to be a fair price and would return if in the area. - Rollin Ollens
Oct 2019 - $26.00
This is a small park in town. All of the Harry S. Truman sites and more of the Independence MO sites are within walking distance. The owners are helpful and the site was clean and quiet. - HaRV the Traveller
Oct 2019 - $31.00
Great park in Independence within walking distance of many historic sites. - CorgiGirl
Aug 2016 - $25.00
Was a Yogi bear park it's a old park needs lots of work.
I don't know if I'd stop again. - JustDon
Jun 2016 - $36.00
Do NOT stay here. Hard to see entrance. You will pass it and have to drive to town to u-turn. The park "resort" is a scene out of Deliverance. The one-way steep rutty "road" has low hanging branches hitting our new rig. There are piles of rusted out metal, dumped cars, trailers, everywhere. Sites are no where near level. No WiFi. You can get TV here. Loud music after 10:00. No welcome package. Cash ONLY. Almost nonexistent water pressure. We would have left this horrible place but it was getting too late. Out of the 45+ RV parks we've stayed at, this was by far the worst. The name needs to change to GONE UNDER. - cmiller
Jul 2012 - $35.00
We had a site on a hill, but was not able to level my trailer. Very old and dated park. Looked great on internet but doesn't live up to the hype. Very poorly maintained. Stayed here one night and would not return. - SammyToo
Jun 2019 - $32.00
Quick and easy access from the interstate. Only half the sites have FHU and most of those are taken by long-term folks. We stayed on the water/electric only side - one of the workers comes by three times per week to empty your black water tank, so we had no issues. Interior roads and sites are dirt/gravel. The sites closest to the interstate are not very level, we moved to a site close to Mize Rd and it was very level. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. - BnK_RVLife
Aug 2017 - $38.00
Stayed one night, while passing through. Site was beyond small, two tiered sloping site with RV and tow vehicle on upper level and all utilities (Full Hook Up) on adjacent lot. Two truck tires surrounded water pipe. Property needs sound barriers. NOTHING masks the sound of trucks, ambulances, or busses barreling down the highway. Don't count on any WIFI. Don't waste your time trying to hook up. The office/store are was a disaster. Nothing for sale. Empty shelves. The only pleasant thing about the place was the woman who checked us in. - Cammy Per
Apr 2017 - $16.00
As noted, an older park that needs some upgrades. We specifically told them we needed satellite, but didn't have any chance of getting a signal. No cable, but antenna picked up a good number of the free channels like Metv, AntennaTv and local networks. Laundry small but clean. Several machines out of order. Our site had a pond in the street next to us due to heavy rain. Lots of mud. A nice park across the road to walk the dog, and a RV center next door which is convenient for parts or supplies. - fulltimerjan
Sep 2018 - $19.00
Beautiful area in hardwood forest with a small lake nearby. Very quiet with spacious sites. The hosts were very helpful. No wifi of course but Verizon worked fine. Only electric at each site but you can't beat the price. Missouri is leading the way too with a good recycling station. Brand new shower/restroom facility which was very nice. There is a dump station and a water fill station available. We'll be back. - Old Geezer
May 2018 - $17.00
This park has the best showers I have ever use. - Joceil
Oct 2017 - $19.00
Second time at this park. Some sites near the playground in area 4 are too close together but others in park nicely spaced. Heavily wooded with lots of hiking trails. Showers were great- lots of hot water, pressure and really clean! - NanciRV
