Friendly owner of this newly-opened park. It's fifty long pull-through sites in a field behind a storage facility. Easy on-off Interstate 49. Restaurants and fuel nearby. Sites are hard-packed dirt, fairly level. We stayed overnight (4 slides) towing on a dolly. - HamandGiblet
Jun 2018 - $31.00
This campground has small sites. Lots of construction people staying there, leaving very little room with many big pick-up trucks parked. Nothing offered except free WIFI and convenient location for us. Many trees, can not get satellite TV because of the trees. Only 2 & 3 blocks to fast food, restaurant, strip mall shopping and Walmart Easy on and off Interstate. - MaryLee
May 2018 - $38.00
Parking sites are extremely close, roads rough, dump port uphill, mostly long term/construction campers. Believe we were only short stay. The site was level and WiFi worked great. Ok stay for one night. - Foxes

Newer campground with sewer, electricity and water. Does have picnic tables. We didn't test WiFi. No other amenities and no bathhouse. Located in industrial park. Plenty of trees which can make for tight turns for our 43 foot fifth wheel. We had a pull thru site but had to back out of it because the turn to pull thru would've been too tight. Luckily campground was empty in mid-April. Located next to Interstate but fairly quiet with our fan running. No office onsite and the only signage for the park is on a dumpster fence. We'd stay again for a one night passing through. The woman taking reservation by phone was very nice and polite. - Hollster

Really nice, clean park. Every site has a view. Sites were small but level. Campground was very full so had to take a spot without sewer hook up. Loved the trail and walked it every day. Staff was very helpful. Laundry reasonable - only $1.50 a load. Close to Kansas City. - Hartleyfam

Always accommodating .... very nice people working the park. As others have stated, call ahead, they are usually full. But they will accommodate if possible. - Travelin Jenkins

We stayed here one night. We like this location as it is very handy off I-49 and close to the south Kansas City area. We have been here several times. however it appears that the park is mostly filled with full-time residents with very few sites available for travelers. Our site was not level for a large coach. The upkeep of the property needs work for it to continue to get decent reviews. - gbburgess

Stayed Labor Day weekend 2018. I was a bit concerned after reading all of the reviews - but honestly don't understand them. The park is old - it needs maintenance in a LOT of areas (I walked the entire campground, and would guess that about 1/2 of the sites are not usable). The property is huge, the lakes are great. The pool is big - is it 4 Olympic pools? NO! It's big and is great in that it is built out into the lake. The bottom of the pool had algae in certain spots - almost like they cleaned it in patterns. Anyway - it was not gross nor a problem for the dozens of kids and adults in the pool (I swam 2 days with my kids (12+14) and they loved it). It is $2/day to use the pool - seemed quite reasonable to me. Our site was #9 and we backed up to the lake. 50amp service was great - water pressure was fine. Full hookup site. Several in this area are only 30 amp so you need to ask. When buying firewood I did talk to the owner who was quite pleasant and was present the whole weekend. I did ask him how things were going and he is overwhelmed with maintenance and is looking to sell the property (has been for several years). After walking around - I understand the issue. My guess is that it would take millions to bring the park back to it's former glory - road work, water/sewer/power work. There is a mini golf course on the property that needs work as well as an overgrown baseball field / clubhouse. The restaurant has been closed for several years. There are a number (guessing 30ish?) full time trailers on site in various stages of disrepair. The people I walked by on my walks around the park were friendly. It is a tired property - but I will come back. Site was nice (not quite level but easy to correct), narrow (for my 4 slides and 41' 5th wheel), and pretty close to neighbors. The other 1/2 of the park only had one family on it - had it to themselves-not sure on their services. I'd recommend. - ScottM
Jun 2017 - $19.00
This park is beautiful with the lakes and the chance to park near the lake. Some sites are right by the lake. The park is generally empty so you can pick a spot where you are comfortable. This is not a 5 star RV park so don't know why so many complains. The road are gravel and do need some updates but for the price it was satisfactory. Saw many fishing in the lakes. It is a quick trip to KC and you can see the National WWI Memorial and Museum as well as President Truman's Library. Will return. - CiminoAdv

If anyone has thought of camping at Lake Paradise Resort, I will save you your money and time: don't do it. Its website is deceiving. It is not kept up well at all. Too many campsites crammed together. Their tent sites are not kept up at all, as in no distinctive markings as where the site/spot is. The grass isn't mowed in hardly any sites and the fire rings and picnic tables should have been replaced 10 years ago. Their rates are not worth camping there. They did have the pool open when we went through yesterday. The only bathrooms that were open were the main bathrooms. Their so-called tent sites with water and electric where not even habitable. Their primitive sites...the only thing you could tell what was what is the road to get there. The grass wasn't even mowed and looked like it hadn't been mowed in 5 years. - wolfiedancer
