Quaint, peaceful and just off the beaten path enough to get a taste of nature. We stopped in our RV just before dark on the way to Sikeston and it was a perfect overnight spot. The sites are back-in, full hookup and level with light gravel and grass. The entire campground is well mowed and maintained, including the grass path all the way around the pond. There is a single bathhouse with a stall shower combo that is extremely clean with thoughtful touches. You can't beat $15 for a single night. There is a host on site. I couldn't find many pictures when I was researching so I took lots while we were there. Use these coordinates (LAT / LONG: 37.3777821484, -89.7941817147) instead of the address in GPS or call the owners. They answered right away both times I called and were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely go back when we're in the area. We camped at Little Ole Opry Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We stopped here on our way to Sikeston, MO where we ate at Lambert's restaurant. I highly recommend Lambert's if you've never been. Go early because they get really busy, really quickly.

Was so happy we found this place from reviews here. Only stayed one night, and it stormed a bit, so didn't get to meet the owner. Very rustic with nearby historic attractions and close to Jackson and Cape Girardeau. Great welcome on the way in, and very tidy campground. Our AT&T service was about non-existent here, and there is no wifi, just nature. So plan accordingly. We camped at Little Ole Opry Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is the greatest deal on earth for the right kind of group. Where can you camp with full hookups for $10-15/day. The owner is an older farmer who comes through the campground a minimum of twice a day, even though he has camp hosts to manage. He's just friendly & caring. There are 22 sites that are very long but reasonable width wise. They are well taken care of, and most of them have a view that overlooks a 5 acre pond, with woods and farm land as a backdrop. We saw deer on 3 of our 7 day stay. A lone eagle one day. Fishing is free & we caught 2 Lg Mouth Bass on the one evening we tried. Pond has a little to much seaweed to make fishing easy. This is an old campground. There is one bathroom each for men & women. Clean, always clean, but not finished like many people would want. Most campers never used it. The most unusual thing about this place is that there is one picnic table & fire ring for every two sites. We were there a week & never saw more than 6 of the sites being used. If I was with a group this would be a great choice. There is no swimming available, but bring a couple of slip in sides and the hill going toward the pond and the kids would be in heaven while the adults can visit at group fires. Only real disappointment, no firewood was for sale there. So either bring it or buy in area. We really came just to motorcycle the area. Awesome rides to west & north. We camped at Little Ole Opry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The Campground was beautiful, we parked over looking the lake. We enjoyed setting and watching the Eagles fly to their nest in a nearby tree. There is a walking trail around the lake and we enjoyed walking the trail every day. We were only there 2 nights but plan to go back as soon as we can get back to Mo. We camped at Little Ole Opry Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Wonderful campground: beautiful, quiet, very well managed campground with tall and well-trimmed trees, a large pond stocked with smallmouth bass and crappie, a pair of muskrats and six wild turkeys roaming in the field on the other side of the pond. Sites are level, with good electric/water/sewer service. The owner is a really nice guy who had to "talk us in" because neither our GPS's could accurately find MO-34 (GPS's did not have WEST MO-34 stored). This worked for us: from the intersection of 74/34, go left (west) on MO-34 for 3.9 miles. The campground will be on your right. We camped at Little Ole Opry Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Please visit the Trail of Tears State Park. Go to the Visitors Center and ask them to play the 20 minute video of the forced march of the Cherokee from the southeastern United States to Oklahoma. As part of that sad journey, they had to cross the Mississippi River near here.

This may be the hidden gem you are looking for. Very neat and clean, the manager was very friendly and helpful. Quiet, and peaceful looking out over a large pond. I expected to see deer at any moment. Sites are back-in .Located on highway 34. I only gave it an eight because it did not have 50 amp which we needed on 95 degree day and was 12 miles off the interstate. We stayed one night. We camped at Little Ole Opry Campground in a Motorhome.

Little Ole Opry Campground is our favorite campground in the Jackson,Missouri, area because it is close to our grand daughters. The owner is a good ole country boy (farmer) that loves to visit with all the campers. My wife and I have been coming to the campground for 6 or 7 years. The campground is really kept clean and mowed by the camp host. I recommend this campground for a night, week, month or longer for just the beauty of the lake (good fishing at no extra cost except your bait). We camped at Little Ole Opry Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for 2 months, and it was very relaxing. Fishing is available on lake. Owner is real friendly. On Saturday night they have country music in the Opry House at the entrance. No Wi-Fi or cell phone service at this time but it will be available by spring. Great get away to fish & relax. Other campers were great! At $10 a night you can't beat it. All sites are back-in under the trees so shade is no problem. We camped at Little Ole Opry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
