This State Park is remote. It had 4 camp sites 2 of which were in the making. There was nothing there except shade, a small stream and lots of hiking trails, a nature lover's delight, quiet and peaceful. Toilets were pit toilets a quarter mile walk away to the parking area at the trail head. If you have a motor home 24 feet or smaller you will be okay. Maybe a small trailer would also, but otherwise not good. A camper van fine. The ranger guy was weird and acted as if my being there was a bother to him. No personality, very dull and stand-offish. The woman in the office seemed intimidated by him and kept quiet. Very bad vibes. I would not go back there. - Traveler John

Can't say enough, this was an unexpected gem. We stayed 5 nights in a 45' motorhome. All sites are gravel and extremely spacious. Enough room for the motorhome with a car parked in front and back. Beautiful shade tree, but did not block our satellite, which worked very well. WiFi available, but I used our Verizon service with no slow down. All roads and sites were gravel. Hook ups were in good working order and easily accessible from any part of the site. Large grass area on both sides, spacious even with 4 slides. There was a well maintained pool, but we didn't use it. Hosts had a beautiful campfire for guests on Friday night. It had rained and we had some trouble leveling, A staff member came over, moved us to another site and brought over some items to help us level and have a clean entry/exit, really helpful. Owners have had the place for 3 years and done an amazing job transforming the park into a great place. We will be back! - CupcakeRIA

This is the second time we stayed at this campground. The owners are very very nice and accommodating. They have a pool and large fire pit area. It was stormy while we were there so we couldn't use them. Our site was very long with packed gravel and pretty level. The wifi was down because of the storms, so I cant comment on it. Everything was very clean and well kept. - Travelindog

The only reason I won't give this park a 10 is there are no trees for shade. We did not need it since it was cold and rainy the two days we stayed. The sites are very level and large. Would love to stay there when we could take advantage of the pool and large fire pit area. Everything is newly remodeled and looks fantastic. I have never seen a laundry and shower area that was as clean as this one was every time we used it. 3 cheers for the management she was super nice and helpful. - True Texas

Most sites are extended stay. Sites are not level. People park their car and boats everywhere so it is difficult to maneuver. Sites very close together. Only a few spots have a view of the water. Had to find the site ourselves. I had printed a map of the campgrounds that I used, they did not give me one. WIFI worked well from out campsite but we were right by it. Other people drove over to it to use wifi. - Modela2007
Sep 2010 - $20.00
We don't have a boat so it just wasn't for us. The sites are really narrow and not level. It is difficult to maneuver around the roads. The swimming area has a very soft bottom. About 6 inches of silt. Not very nice at all. Not a level area to play games with the kids. If you are looking for a campground that is more family friendly I would suggest Crab Tree Cove. If you are looking for place to park the camper and spend the day on the boat then this might be the place for you. - Iluvcamp

Nice, clean city park. However, it is near a major intersection so a bit noisy. Took a walk behind the park to the golf course and adjoining park. nice. water, elec, and wifi. About 5 other large RV's/motor homes when we arrived; two of those units used up 2 sites to park an extra vehicle, not sure if they paid for an extra site. Would not normally be a problem in a campground with vacant sites but the wifi signal could not reach our site (10) and the traffic noise was much more evident at our site, would have chosen another site if extra vehicles were not parked there. Did see city truck drive thru the next morning when we were leaving. Maybe the city needs to do a drive thru more often. An ok place for 1 night. - katinfoco
Sep 2017 - $20.00
We stayed just overnight to visit a friend. It is a well kept small park area. There are water and electric hook ups only. There is a dump station on site. The city does a good job of keeping it clean and mowed. - Honalee
Jul 2015 - $20.00
Spiffed up about 3 or 4 years ago. New showerhouse/restroom building with 2 generic stalls. It's starting to show it's age and use by folks that could care less about it. Was a bit dirty and buggy inside, but everything worked as it should.
Has 50/30/20 amp electrical pedestals in good shape. All sites are paved and fairly level. Water spigots are shared between 2 sites, 2 outlets per spigot.
Great dump station setup but might be a little tight turning for larger trailers, (as is the entrance to the park). Fairly quiet in the evening and overnight, but gets noisy about 6am from traffic. - bobojay
Sep 2018 - $35.00
Very friendly and owner had a new colt they were working with. They encouraged us to take our dog to visit the colt. Full hook ups and long sites. It had been raining a Lot prior to & while we were there. Some site had less water and they tried to get us into one of the drier sites. No rugs allowed so we tracked a lot of dirt inside. There is a mini golf coarse but it was too wet to use. I would go back. (The colt loves people & dogs) - Edd505

Booked here based on internet reviews. Was not disappointed. Clean, well laid out, good roads, level gravel spaces, excellent utility location and operation. The owner very helpful when had a motorhome problem on a Sunday morning, Would and will return here for more than one reason. - Bossgreen
Jun 2018 - $35.00
We stopped here one night passing through. The access off 49 can be confusing be sure you have good directions. North bound on I 49 exit 103 is best (probably for south bound as well). Go left to the West Outer road and turn left. West Outer Road is essentially a frontage road the becomes West Osage. Park is on the right. The owner/hosts were excellent. Our site was pull through, level gravel. - jwindham
