Tips for other Campers:

The lake offers great fishing with abundant crappie, catfish and bass. The park offers a marina with a great launch, a camp store with live bait and the swimming beach is awesome. This park is about 2 miles from town with restaurants and a Walmart. There are great prairie walking trails. This park is on route 36 at route 63 and one hour north of Columbia on 70.

Overall Rating:

Nice Park. Didn't get to enjoy full benefits because it rained a lot during our visit. There are a lot trees and places to walk. There was no water available in the park due to Winter season. Main restroom at entrance is nice and clean and had soap. Pit toilets sporadically spaced in park. Nice sites for tent campers along water. The camp hosts were very friendly. If you are in need of supplies, Macon is just a few miles away. Don't go to Wal Mart for groceries as it is so small it has minimal food items. C&R Foods is just next door. Firewood is available from a dispenser in the park next to the Coke machine. Nice Stay. We camped at Long Branch State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful campground. Our site was concrete, level and spacious. Shady with lots of trees. Clean bathroom/shower. Paved roads to ride bikes. We were backed up to nature/open field and watched deer at night and in the mornings. Campground hosts very nice. We only stayed 1 night and didn't use all the facilities/lake etc. Be aware: Come off hwy 36 and use long branch lake rd exit. GPS took us on a dirt road. Some of the sites were water view. We camped at Long Branch State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a lovely Missouri state park. The only reason it is not getting a better rating is because of the low hanging trees that need to be taken care of. It appears that we were in an updated section of the campground with a concrete pad that was narrow and concrete patio. Most of the sites were much smaller, unlevel, and black topped. This campground has only electric with some sites having 50 amp power available. There is a double sided dump station available for use but we did not use it. We also did not use the bath house but did look inside and it was clean and adequate. There are small comfort stations located throughout the campground. Free unsecured WiFi is available but again we did not use it. The campground was mowed and the overall appearance was one of neatness. There are some sites with a lake view and the lake was beautiful. There is a swimming beach and a marina located in the state park. Only some sites are reservable. We would stay here again as long as we could get one of the limited sites for our big rig. We camped at Long Branch State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pretty, well-kept State Park on Long Branch Lake, just off Hwy. 36. Fairly good, paved interior roads; sites are blacktop or concrete, with picnic tables and large fire rings. Our Site, #71, was concrete, long and mostly level, with 50-amp electric. Many Sites have lake views, and there are plenty of grassy areas and mowed trails for dog walking. We saw deer on our morning and evening walks. We would stay here again. We camped at Long Branch State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Great Park, since we were here in the fall there were few amenities; however, during the warm months there is a marina and beach which looked nice. If you boat or fish, Long Branch is an excellent lake. Electric hookups only, no water or sewer on site but there are numerous water hydrants and a dump station on site. The host was great. Most sites are paved pads with fire pit and picnic table. Older sites are rough, deteriorated asphalt but more into the woods and near the lake. We had no problem in October finding a suitable site. We stayed there 5 nights visiting family and friends. This season watch out for the oak mites, we camped under oak trees discovering a little late that we had been bit. This is not a reflection on the park itself, just a bad year for oak mites. Hiking was minimal if that's what you're interested in.....prairie hike next to campground, Bee Trace Hike which can be 9 miles, and graveled trail from the dam to the lake about a mile long. Lots of walkers on the road across the dam. Overall a nice place to stay. We camped at Long Branch State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great State Park, too bad we were only overnight. Missouri runs its own online reservation system. It works very well and there is a photo of each site as well as description and the variance, in degrees +-, from 0.0 level. Almost all sites are very long and poured concrete. The few blacktop sites left are being torn up and replaced a few at a time. We met the hosts right away, very nice. The boat docks and piers are down a separate road from campers. The campground is quiet with beaches to walk without the commotion of boating. Do not use gps to locate!! You'll find some of the worst gravel roads in Missouri, though you'll get there. Zero in on the Corp of Engineers Dam site at Long Branch Lake right off US Rte 36. The State Park is contiguous to the COE the road to the dam continues on to the State Park. This is a great stay. Enjoy! We camped at Long Branch State Park in a Motorhome.

This is great state park, perfect combo Army Corps dam with pristine surroundings and upkeep, then a Mo. State Park with swimming, boating, fishing. Lots of woods and many trails of varying lengths and difficulty. All pads are cement, level as a table top and very long. Each site has a fire pit and grill stand. The bathrooms are warm and clean and the water is hot. The hosts are nice and the park is clean and well maintained. Reserve on line and there is a picture for each site. The only minus was that the Wi-Fi was intermittent. When was there it was very good. We would stay here again. We camped at Long Branch State Park in a Motorhome.

Clean, level, paved sites. (Some sites are huge!). Beautiful wooded setting on large lake. (Recycling containers are available. Travel from Macon exit to Park. (Ignore GPS recommendation when traveling eastbound on I-70 and continue east to Macon exit, follow signs.) Definitely a vacation destination if you lived within easy driving distance of northern Missouri. Note that we don’t carry a TV around so no cable service is necessary nor could I assess access. We use the fifth-wheel primarily to have a comfortable place to sleep, a toilet and shower that don’t offer surprises, and someplace to store food. Other than that, we live outside! We camped at Long Branch State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We have nothing bad to say about this campground. It would be a 10 if it had water and sewer. It is a very attractive campground with level cement pads on the 50 amp sites. I thought of a small problem: Verizon has "Extended Network" service here. We loved it and would definitely come again. We camped at Long Branch State Park in a Motorhome.

Paid $19.00 for electric only site with a senior discount. All roads are paved and sites are paved or concrete. Our site was level and had a beautiful view of the lake. Several sites had good lake views. Restrooms and showers were clean and very well maintained. This is another great example of Missouri State Parks. We stayed for one night traveling through. It was hot so we picked a shaded spot in the older section, which had quite a bit of slope down into the site (bad for not unhooking for one night). The bathrooms were OK. We were able to let the dog swim in the lake. On a Sunday, we had our choice of sites. We would stay again. We camped at Long Branch State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
