We like these small quiet RV parks. This one did not disappoint. The shower/ bathroom is an interesting set up with private rooms for men and women in the same building. This same room also holds two washers and two dryers. The Laura Ingalls Wilder site is across the road nearby. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We visited the Laura Ingalls Wilder site from here as well as the Baker Creek seed company- there's a delicious bakery there. We also walked to the "at your own risk cave" which was interesting. We're not daring but gave it a try for about 0.25 miles.

Beautiful Setting, friendly owners. Great value with the passport america rate. Nice country feel, very rustic. Loved hearing the Rooster crow (far away, not noisy) and the lightening bugs at night. Part of the roads were storm damaged due to rain the week before, but other roads around camp were fine. Good wi-fi. No TV satelite reception due to trees. We didn't try OTA. Site was a little unlevel. Only other complaint I had was distance (steep downhill) to bathroom/laundry facility at lower end of park. Quiet at night. We were sad we didn't have time to visit the cave & nearby museum. We nearly missed the park entrance sign. Would probably stay here again if in the area. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a small park in a beautiful setting; rolling hills all around. It's beautiful and quiet in the Autumn. Having said that, we arrived at 2:30 pm on Sunday. No one was in the office. To get to the office, be sure you look closely for the signs - you need to drive around the park to get to it. Sites are level and gravel. The road within the park is also gravel. The gravel road in front of the pull-thru lots is in serious need of grading as is the gravel road leading out of the park; deep ruts are in the road. There is one tight turn leaving the pull-thrus. Wifi is decent. Water pressure and voltage is are good. I rated this park as "poor" because of the roads. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Within walking distance to the Laura Ingalls Historic Home and Museum. Entry cost is $14 per person. There is really nothing around here, you need to go to Ava (12 miles) for any fast food restaurants or Wal-Mart. We stayed one night.

We have stayed here multiple times for an overnighter on our way south. Keep meaning to leave a review because it's been a great place to stop. It is on the side of a hill but the campsites are pull through and level. Easy to get in and out. Very clean and owners could not be nicer. Great value and nice spot to get some rest and let the kids run around. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

New owners took possession of this campground about 4 years ago. Tremendous amount of improvents during that time. Pull thru LEVEL sites, ample power and water pressure, quiet and very clean. Across the highway from Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum and homestead. If we are ever in this area again we would not hesitate to stay again. We learned of this campground after stopping for fuel near Mansfield, Mo. One of the locals responded when I ask about an RV park in the area. A little difficult to find and you will park on the side of a hill. But it was fine for over night. Friendly folks. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

There is a Laura Ingles Wilder Museum being built just across the road from this campground. We didn't take time to visit the museum. Located a few miles out of Mansfield on a county road that narrow and curvy.

We camped here 9 & 10 June 2016 in a fifth wheel. This is a quaint country campground. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. There are several long term residents. We were in site 2 with full hookups. We paid $30.00 per night for the site with 30 amp service. The restroom & shower facilities were adequate. No WiFi & Verizon was weak 3G mostly. We would stay here again. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is small and located on a steep hill. Sites are gravel. Hookups are in wrong location. Restroom is a very scary looking building with a broken window and a hole in the outside wall. No amenities, no cable, no Wi-Fi.

Sites are not level and when you step out of your RV you just about fall down the hill. Won't stay here again. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is right across the street from the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum, House & Bookstore. Any other park we looked at was about an hour away. The Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum, etc is very popular. There were 60 people there when we visited. That being said I would say its close proximity to the museum would be the only reason to stay at this park. The owner was very nice & very helpful. There is a new looking playground area amid a large expanse of well kept lawn. Staying in a camper would probably be easier then staying in our motorhome because the park is on a steep hill. Even if you stay at the bottom you must climb the hill to exit. You shared the same electric pedestal with the site next to you & the water spigot had a splitter so you both used the same pipe. You each had your own sewer. These receptacles were quite a distance from your site so you needed extensions. Our sewer ran up hill. There was a bathroom but judging by the condition of the outside of the building I would be afraid to go inside. We were unable to get satellite signal. There is no cable. We did get a few over the air stations. What surprised us most was that we had no cell signal. The park is located in a valley. We drove up to the town square & got signal there. The owner of the camp had cell signal so some carriers must not have a problem. There were only a few restaurants in the area. Some had gone out of business & the rest were closed because it was Sunday. Only the Subway was open. The $20.00 we paid was for the first night only with Passport America, the other two nights were $40.00 each. We left after the first night without asking for a refund. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

The rate reflects Passport America membership. This is a small campground built into a hill. The sites are level. The interior roads are narrow and graveled. Some of them are grass covered. The restroom is old but clean. About two thirds of the limited number of sites were occupied by longer term residents. When we pulled in at about 2 PM on a weekday, there were only two pull-through spaces available. One was full hookup and the other lacked sewer. It is walking distance from the Laura Ingalls Wilder home. If we wanted to visit that attraction again we would stay at this campground otherwise we will avoid it. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Such a peaceful place to go when you want to get away from the grind of everyday life. The new owners seem to be making improvements and sounds like they have a lot more in store. I enjoyed this park because it was close to so many unique and interesting attractions. My kids and I had a great time! We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Tent Trailer.

This campground was very peaceful. It is under new ownership and they are really getting things cleaned up, updated and family friendly. I will definitely come back and stay here again as I think it will only get better over time. Great location and easy to find. Found this park while traveling cross country to New England. Called ahead and spoke with the NEW owner. Apparently the park was sold this year, and the new owners know some improvements are necessary. Beautiful location, the trees are so green. They will be trimming trees back for the larger rigs this year. Right now some of the branches could scrape large 5th wheels and Class A's. But the pull through sites are large enough for the big rigs, just a little maintenance pending. In the case of our Airstream, perfect fit and the trees add to the privacy of each site. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Rough gravel unkept road. Many pretty trees with limbs hanging out and down that scratch the roof and sides of MH's and 5th wheels. PPA book says $12.50 per night. We checked in after driving up a bad gravel road to a house to "see the lady". Only to find out that 50 amp sites are $13.00 PPA is only honored for 2 nights. Fee is $26.00 per night after that. Also there is a flat $1.00 per day tax. Bad road, bad trees, bad listing in the PPA book. Bad check in system. Use at your own risk. Might be OK for tents and very small campers. We will be in there area again but will stay somewhere down the road. We camped at Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
