This park is right in the city but it might be the nicest KOA we have been to. The place is landscaped nicely and the site were separated enough. The 2 dog runs were next to each other and are the biggest fenced runs we have seen in a campground. They were also grass covered and clean We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Convenient access to I-70, nice folks, good camp store, multiple pet areas. Reliable power, good water pressure, better-than-expected WiFi (at least near the office). Typical KOA layout with dirt/gravel interior roads, gravel pads & what seems like somewhat random design. There appear to be more than a few long-term guests & some of those sites really need a little love. The proximity to the exit means plenty of traffic/truck noise. In my opinion, KOAs are over-marketed & deliver less-than-average value even with their discount card. This location is branded as a "Holiday", but for me it is more of a "Journey" stopover park. I'd stay again, but simply for a night or two while visiting the area. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We typically avoid KOAs because they are generally overpriced with sites way too close together and they charge extra for kids, making them family UN-friendly in my opinion. This KOA should give lessons to all other KOAs as to how to provide a fun, family-friendly environment at a reasonable cost. We were only passing through so we only spent 1 night, but we would definitely return if we're ever in the area again. It was a convenient stop over for the night on our way to St. Louis. Check in was friendly and quick. Our site was easy in and out. They have fantastic amenities like a pool, bounce pad and mini-golf. We were pleasantly surprised that they did not charge extra for mini-golf like most KOAs do. I'm telling you, this place is not greedy like most other KOAs; they do not live up to the "Keep On Adding" reputation that KOA has established. We very much appreciated that they did not charge extra for kids. Thank you Kansas City KOA for doing it better than other KOAs; now I just wish the others would learn from you how to do it right. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile all worked great. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical KOA park, sites close, fairly level with some shade.....as always they have all the normal activities of a KOA, nice store and the staff was friendly and courteous, they met us as we pulled into the lot and led us to our site, it appeared that some sites could be a little tight but we had no problems with our 36' pulling toad....we had a fhu and services were good, ATT cell signal was good and their WiFi was good, cable about 25 channels....restrooms and showers were clean with plenty of hot water....a lot of shopping fast food and dine in restaurants nearby....easy in out gas stations also....convenience is what your paying for, close to interstate also but noise did not bother us....great for over night stop, we would stay here again if passing through, just would want cooler weather..... We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Motorhome.

We arrived after dark and the paperwork was easy to find and a security guard helped us to our site. We were not here long but the one drawback was that our site was not as level as we normally get. Since we got in so late and were leaving early the next morning, we didn't try to resolve. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Motorhome.

A staff member escorted us to our site with a gravel pad, picnic table, and fire pit. Campground store has variety of cute souvenirs, ice cream, postcards, and friendly staff. They placed us on a site adjoining our camping buddies. There are restaurants and fuel stops in Oak Grove and even more in nearby Grain Valley. Hubby was happy to get satellite. Highway noise can be bothersome at night, but we would stay here again. Walmart is only grocery option in Oak Grove, but there is a Price Cutter, Camping World, and department stores in nearby Grain Valley.Campground is right off I-70. Who needs to count sheep in order to fall asleep! Just count the cars/trucks you can hear going by on I-70, 24/7. The only way this could be any worse is if I pulled onto the median on the Interstate and set up camp there. It took two shots at getting a site as the first one wasn't long enough and we had to go back. The escort wasn't much help since we kept him from driving around in his golf cart and talking to people. While the place is clean it's not a place we could recommend to anyone, unless you're an insomniac. It was fairly close to where we had to be and as a result we stayed for the three days, otherwise... We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Close to I-70 and only about 20 minutes from Kansas City. There is some road noise from the interstate but it was not too noticable. The roads and camp sites are gravel so there is some dust. The staff was helpful getting us into our site and the campground was very clean. Most sites have some shade. This was the second time we stayed here and will do so again if we are in the area. Stayed one night passing through. Nice KOA with good facilities, and good dog park. Staff was friendly and helpful. Site was treed so was not able to get satellite connection. Roads were navigable for my 38' coach with Jeep in tow. Did not detach while there. Gravel site and gravel roads. Sites are a bit tight. Road noise from I-70 definitely noticeable when outside, but could barely hear it inside the motorhome. Our site was relatively level but didn't appear that all sites were that way. Wifi was below average, water pressure was average. Cable TV was snowy. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Motorhome.

6 rating for RV Park Reviews. Overall very nice facility. This is a "Holiday" KOA. Sites were gravel with good coverage of larger size gravel and plenty long enough and wide enough but a bit unlevel side to side. Decent (but not great) spacing between sites. The bathhouse was very nice (looked recently updated) and kept very clean. The office store was well stocked. The Staff was great and very helpful. Only issue was WiFi. Was not able to hold WiFi signal at site 22 in middle of park. Was able to get signal at office but lost signal by time walked back to site. This downgraded my review by 1 star. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Motorhome.

The staff were excellent and the bathrooms very clean! The sites were not level side to side. Every trailer/motor coach had to use multiple blocks to level the vehicle and many of the sites were short and could not easily accommodate the vehicles comfortably. The sewer needs to have two receptacles, one near the rear of the site and one mid site. Although the campground is close to, I-70 the office provides ear plugs for those who need it. The office also a great selection of hand dipped ice cream. The shop is well stocked. We stayed 2 nights and went into town to visit the Arabia Steamboat Museum. Absolutely worth it! See 1856.com for details on the steamboat museum. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Travel Trailer.
