Very friendly check in and escorted service to site. This park sits on a hillside with incredible views in almost any direction and two tiers of RV sites, top level holds the larger RV's. The road in is a little tight and the road up to the second tier is one lane but the roads in the top tier are very wide. If you are willing to back in, sites 45,46,and 48 offer a breath taking view of the Yellowstone mountains and river. Our site (33) was very narrow and we were not able to extend our awning due to small tree. Sites are gravel and we did not have to level. Good cable connection and Wifi. Limited Verizon service. Showers and baths are on the lower level and you have a nice steep walk to get there but they were very clean. Very small fenced in area for dogs to walk. They are not allowed to do any business on any grass surface, including your own site. No play area for children. Narrow road up to the upper level but interior roads on the upper level were very wide and easy to negotiate even for big rigs. Owing to the proximity to the Yellowstone west entrance, I would definitely pick this park to stay in again. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Very convenient to the west Yellowstone visitor center which has many elk grazing on the center mall. We had lunch in Gardiner at the Wonderland Cafe and Lodge. It was excellent. Gardiner also has a very good grocery store. Gas is expensive but tank up in Gardiner, prices inside the park are very high.

Our site faced away from the view that seems to be their selling item. They have a community campfire area that is not avail to the campers and their fire starter did not come as we were told he/she would. No campfires at your site which I can respect, but no alternative for some perfect evenings and wildlife viewing opportunities. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wonderful location for exploring Yellowstone. Less then 2 miles to the North gate. Quite and convenient. Park site on hillside above Gardiner, MT with great views into Yellowstone Some sites have wonderful views. In site 48 we have a view out our back window out over the Yellowstone River, the small community of Gardiner and into the park. We can even see the line at the entry gate! Interesting touch, site 48 has utilities on both sides so a fifth wheel may back in with view out the back or a motorhome may pull in forward with the view out the front! We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here due to its proximity to the Mammoth Springs and the other attractions located in the Northern part of Yellowstone NP. The campground was clean and the staff helpful both at check-in and when I made inquires about restaurants in the area. We also loved the fact that we were in walking distance of most anything in the town of Gardiner. Just one note, the campground has a rather steep gravel driveway so make sure you pull all the way to the top before stopping. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great proximity to north entrance to Yellowstone. But being in a 'regular' site, as opposed to a 'deluxe' site, it was way way way too tight. Could practically reach out and touch neighboring RVs. No fire pits, possibly a communal fire pit somewhere in campground but did not see this. If you camp here you are getting full hookups, location, and very tight spacing, which is OK for some folks, just not for us. Next time will do without hookups and camp elsewhere in order to have some room to spread out a bit. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice RV Park. Clean and quiet. My only compliant is we had to drive like mad to get to the park before closing because they apparently don’t let you show up late. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Gateway to the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. A very nice spot terraced into the hillside overlooking the Yellowstone River so many of the sites have great views, but not all do. We had a back-in site near the entrance with a nice view out the back bedroom window. The spaces are pretty close but most people are gone to Yellowstone for the day and just return in the evening. Very clean indoor facilities, and very friendly and helpful staff. Small but nice fenced dog park. All site are FHU I believe. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

We really like this park. We were here at the very end of the season. By the time we left, there were almost no rigs left. The staff was very friendly, particularly the young lady who signed us in(8 months pregnant). There are trees around so all sites are not satellite friendly. The staff was very helpful in getting us a site with a treeless view to the south. Verizon worked fine here. The sites are average width. Each has a grass area with a picnic table. The grass is healthy and attracts the local elk. At times we had as many as 8 elk in the park. There are a few head-in sites with views of the city and park entrance. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

We spent a week here to explore the north parts of Yellowstone. It is a perfect location, walking distance to town and 5 min to the northeast entrance. We had a deluxe site. Ours had a good amount of room. But others in our row did not always. Sit fit our 34' MH just fine. Saw some bigger units as well. There was separate parking for our toad, but it was only about 10 yards away. Good utilities. Not so good WiFi. Easy to connect but very weak speeds. Outstanding and friendly staff. Pet area is small but functional. There are some sites with good views, it most are normal views. There are two levels. I thought the lower level spots were very close together but had some of the better views. Good Verizon coverage. Elk walking around in the evenings. Nice big laundry facility. We would stay here again. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Proximity of this campground to north entrance of Yellowstone was great. The spaces are pretty close together but there are limited options in the area with full hookups. Site 48 was the best site with a lovely view of Gardiner, mountain range, and Yellowstone entrance. Our site (#81) was up the hill. There is only one bath house (which is very nice) on the lower level by the office. WiFi was free, but spotty on speed. Our only minor complaint is that they use the upper level to turn around lots of RV's and they really created quite a bit of dust running through the upper section. That being said, we would absolutely stay here again when we visit Yellowstone. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

When visiting Yellowstone NP - with plans to explore the NW corner of the Park - Rocky Mountain RV Park is an excellent CG choice. The CG has a lower and an upper section. All RV sites are narrow and lack a sense of privacy; however, the CG is safe, well-maintained, has full-serviced sites, and employs a friendly and professional staff. We preferred sites in the lower section - along the rail fence - because several have unobstructed views of downtown Gardiner, the Yellowstone River, and the mountains to the west. Downtown Gardiner is a 5-minute walk or drive and has a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Yellowstone's NW entrance is a 3-mile drive. Campsites in the upper section of Rocky MT RV Park may be better suited for BIG RIGs. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for three weeks in a 40-foot fifth wheel. This is the nicest park in the town of Gardiner with all facilities very well maintained. We were in a hill-top "deluxe" site with a dedicated parking site on the fence immediately across from our site. These sites were full-sun and a bit snug side-to-side but not crowded. You have a small piece of grass and a picnic table but no fire ring and even the community fire pit was closed due to high fire danger. The park and all facilities are well maintained. Expect a great deal of traffic in the mornings as people leave. High volume of rental campers that leave daily to explore the park. Also note that the entrance to the campground is a rather steep gravel road and we did slip a bit pulling 22000 pounds of trailer up the hill. Staff were friendly, professional, and proficient. The campground is walking distance to town for food and rafting adventures. You can also visit the Yellowstone Forever Institute. The north entrance to Yellowstone is less than three miles away. In our opinion, Yellowstone needs at least five full days to explore the many areas of attraction. Take your time and enjoy. This is an extraordinary piece of our American heritage that has been protected since the late 1800s. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
