You are lucky if you find this park on the first approach. There are no signs. You will see a blue camping arrow on the 437 exit stop sign. Nothing after that until you realize you better call the park. The park will tell you, you are going to Billings. It turns out the park is at the Sinclair gas station by the stop sign. You will pull into a tiny, weary, old park made for 26' trailers. The sites are gravel and level. The electric is good for 30 amps. We are fortunate enough to have a 34', three slide motor home. We had a snug fit. We unhooked our tow and parked it in front as not to impede traffic. There are permanent people living in 26' trailers. It is a comfortable park. Grass but no shade. - mycelia
Jul 2009 - $28.00
Small park good for overnights. Some seasonal workers living in the park. Park is connected to a truck stop that has a good restaurant. The park is close to Billings Mt. Some smell from the refinery in the evening lasts about ten to twenty minutes. They have weekly and monthly rates. - REBSCATS

This park is closed for the season and camping is prohibited by signs. The web site for the park shows it as open Memorial Day through Labor Day. The park is across the road from a large refinery and BNSF railroad. This review w ill say we camped in a motorhome, but we didn't stay at all. - Jay Rutherford
Aug 2010 - $12.00
There was 3 different pricings $12 for dry camping, $15 for electric only sites (said to be 3 but the one we found looked not safe for electric hookup) and $20 for electric/water site which was the majority of the sites. There was a shower house. We chose to dry camp. Said to be 7 day max stay, but some looked to have been there longer with their big fridges outside, workers with their campers and tents all laid out, there was no one attending the window once you finally find the office, shower house was not kept very clean, some of the ones staying there looked a little on the iffy side. We did not feel comfortable allowing the kids (15 12 10) to venture even to the shower house alone. We stayed here 2 nights 1 day out of necessity of a stop over but wouldn't stay there again. Did not feel safe walking to the shower house due to some of the people staying there. Guys and Girls going to the same side together and my son walked into the men room while a couple was doing their thing in the shower, not impressed esp. when they told him it was OK he could watch, fortunately my son (10) came back out. Park was quiet enough but wasn't willing to leave the rig unattended. - moosemama3
Jul 2009 - $15.00
We spent 5 nights here holed up over the 4th of July holiday. 30amp service and water for $15 a night. Lots of mosquitoes. The lots are irregular in size & layout, but they're OK. Some will easily take big rigs, some are pull through. Bathroom wasn't clean. There were 2 or 3 homeless individuals & families living there in tents or small older trailers, they were very nice & friendly, no problem. CG across the Yellowstone River from water treatment plant & refinery but no odors, a little noise. Some train traffic but not bad. - big greg

Oct 2018 - $50.00
Nice park but we thought that it was very expensive. Laundry room was pretty clean, two dollar wash and $1.50 to dry. Trains nearby but didn't hear any at night. Wasn't the cleanest park we've been in, broken hoola hoop in our site and dog poop everywhere. WiFi was really good, not a lot of people there in mid-October. Paved sites but ours wasn't very level side to side. We're probably going to try a different place when we're back in the area. - 2VetsRVing
Sep 2018 - $55.00
3 Nights. The owner took out booking without a deposit and he was so freindly when we arrived. The Wifi is very good. All the grounds are covered by asphalt of grass. Approx. 3 miles from downtown. Would stay here again. - Aussie Chums
Aug 2018 - $50.00
A bit pricey, but very nice, convenient CG. Had the best wifi we have ever had in a CG. Conversely, the cable TV picture was almost impossible to see it was so bad, and one of the worse of any CGs in which we have stayed. - Old GI

Once off I-90 you have a short drive on a very narrow neighborhood street. As we pulled in we saw the sign that said, "1st KOA in the U.S. established 1962". That was a shocker. As we looked over the grounds however everything looked very clean and maintained. But since built back then, just like many older campgrounds, the roads and sites now have tight turns for larger RV's especially in the older sites. Check in was very quick and we found our premium site #50 very easily. It was long enough even after disconnecting. Adequate spacing at this site; along with grass between each other. There are also tall trees in many sites to provide shade. Next to the Office is a very nice 9-hole Mini Golf, but they charge $5.00 to play. Park is along the Yellowstone River, with a small dirt pathway to lead you to it. Cable reception good with lots of channels, although some a little snowy. Wi-Fi worked very well for us. Did not use bathrooms, showers or laundry. The pricing is much higher than we have seen even for other KOA parks, so KOA discount helped. NOTE: other Parks nearby also had comparable high pricing, but their reviews were not as good as this one. - mandrgames
Sep 2018 - $47.00
Beautiful grounds, lots of green grass. We stayed in space 162. We only needed electric and water since we are staying one night. Cable tv came in wonderfully. Nice pull through with clean fireplace pit, oversize colored cement patio. A large bench swing with a beautiful bird soaring among the trees on the back of the bench. The porch bench swing can be moved easily on the cement pad. Picnic tables are better quality than most parks. Staff extremely helpful. Park staff was excellent checking us in and was superb assisting us getting connected to the free WiFi. Park is dog friendly. Swimming pool and spa very clean as well as the laundromat. We did not go into the bathrooms or showers so can't comment. Love this place!!!!! - Schroeder
Sep 2018 - $63.00
This park seems well managed but seems a little pricey. Our site was good but was tight and did not have sewer. The other utilities work well. The WiFi was a little slow. The driveways are narrow, paved and surprisingly easy to navigate. There was a small tree on our site that looked like some kind of oak that attracted wasps/yellowjackets in large numbers. - 2WArvers

Sep 2018 - $50.00
We were here in the off season so it wasn't crowded. There are 2 sites per gravel pad so it would be tight. We were at the end near the small fenced dog park. The individual shower rooms were nice. I was disappointed how many people didn't pick up after their dogs even though bags are provided. - Thedogsma
Sep 2018 - $80.00
Our site looked onto what looked like a dump site. Camper was allowed to string clothesline and hang wash. Tie dogs up outside all day, store pontoon boat, motorbikes, bicycles, assorted car parts - all in violation of rules. The office ignored it. Not worth the money. - MontanaSue
Sep 2018 - $80.00
We pulled into a pull thru full hook up site before realizing they park 2 campers in each site facing opposite directions. Terrible setup with the picnic table on the driver's side. We left and went next door to the another park. - Tswhitewater

Nice managers. Nice little park. BIG pull through spaces. Great mountain views in some spots. Great rural location with town close by. Close to Interstate 90 so a bit of traffic noise. - hacker
Sep 2018 - $45.00
Easy access from I-90 and there is a Pilot at the same exit. The staff were friendly and found us a site with some shade. The site was not level, we had to use 3 blocks under the front tires to get level. Only could get 2 OTA stations. They had good WiFi and there is good Verizon service. There were a several long term campers but the sites were well maintained. There was some noise from the interstate but not enough to keep us awake. They have electric only sites and full hook-up sites. We only wanted water and electric so we had to pay for full hook-up even though we didn't need it. - MarkandMarty
Aug 2018 - $45.00
We would come back for an overnight stay. Convenient access from I-90. Site was reasonably level, hooks are central to front and back, wifi excellent, verizon two bars, we used sat TV only. There are trees and it you can get a site with a tree on your south side during the summer, that would be a good thing! We didn't so could not sit outside in 100 deg afternoon. Good time to check the A/C! - rncordy

Sep 2018 - $1.00
While this park isn't the prettiest place ever, you just can't beat it for the price of FREE (donations encouraged, but even then, it's a screaming deal!) There are plenty of dry camping sites for all types of campers, both pull-through and back-in, in two loops separated by a 1/2-mile gravel road. The one in the back is a bit more private, but also has the daily fishing access lot, so might be noisier. We stayed in the front lot at the very back of the loop next to the river. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There seemed to be a few "regulars" but everyone was quiet and polite. The roads were dusty, but most everyone was very respectful about driving slowly and keeping dust to a minimum. We had originally planned this to be just an overnight, but ended up staying 3 days because it was quiet, was an easy bike ride into the cute town which had everything you could need, and was close enough to Custer National Forest for some hiking. The park borders the city golf course which looked to be nice, as well. The restrooms at the front of the park offer flush toilets and there is water available in the park. We saw the local police drive through a few times on routine checks. The city does a good job of maintaining this park despite what has to be minimal funding, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. - Chasing Dirt
Aug 2017 - $5.00
Free campground, although donations are accepted. We had a pull-through which worked for us as we were just passing through and didn't want to unhook. The roads were dusty, probably because of the dry weather and not so much the fault of the campground. We would definitely stay here again on our way through, although we would pick a site not on the main campground road to avoid some of the dust from vehicles coming and going. Good little spot for a stop for the night. - Marsha D
Jul 2017 - $6.00
We were looking for a place to stop where we could get caught up on email, news, etc. after 2 hectic weeks in Teton/Yellowstone. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on week days in mid-July in our 25 foot MH. This is a free CG run by the town (by volunteers) and we enjoyed our stay. The volunteers stopped by and were friendly. There are 2 sections to the CG. Enter via the upper CG to find sites arrayed in a large treed field. Follow a dirt road at the far end, past the golf course, and find the lower CG with sites arrayed mostly in the trees along the Yellowstone River. We stayed in the upper CG. The sites were mostly level with picnic tables, fire rings and firewood may be available for free. The sites were a mix of sun and shade. Many were quite large with some privacy. There's no wifi. There was reliable Verizon and ATT coverage that slowed temporarily in the early evening. There is a boat launch in the lower CG so there was a bit of car traffic in the early evening which stopped by 9pm and was not a problem. Trains did go through the town at night and did not keep us awake. The CG could use a little TLC, yet, it was a nice free place to stay. - dsvt
