Nicest city park I have ever stayed in. 50/30 Amp service, full hook -ups. pull-thrus and back-ins all 60+ feet. Less than half full the weekend I was there. First come first serve. Pull thrus have shade; larger back-ins do not. Next to Big Blue River so you have occasional low land flooding in park. Frisbee golf, horseshoes pits around campground so well manicured landscape. Well policed. Honor system for payment. Get there early if possible. No on-site management. Two week stay maximum. Enjoy dirt track racing a few miles away at county fairgrounds or at Fairbury, Nebraska. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Motorhome.

This is a city run park and is a great place to stay while visiting family in Beatrice. We have stayed several times before. This time it was different and not in the best way. We arrived and luckily got the last of the sites (there aren't many). After we were settled in we realized that 90% of the rigs there were near permanents and many had stuff such as grills, toys, lawn fixtures or whatever strewn about. I'm assuming the workers are seasonal types and not true permanents. But the number of sites make staying in this little gem of a park difficult. Sites here can't be reserved so it's first come first served. Makes planning difficult. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is another city park with about 10 more sites with the same amenities as Chatauqua. I have unfortunately forgotten the name of it.

Very nice little city park, RV park is part of a larger complex of biking/walking trails, ball fields and picnic shelters. Facilities are perfectly fine with level concrete pads, water, sewer and electric hookups. Even on 4th of July weekend and almost full, no 'shenanigans' except for the usual fireworks nonsense found everywhere on the holiday weekend. We did not use the bathrooms. Only minor ding is the trash dumpster was full to the point of overflowing before it was finally emptied. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Beatrice is a very neat small town with lots of interesting history; very well done Gage County Museum. We had visited the Homestead National Monument on a previous visit to the area, not to be missed if you haven't been there. There are wineries and wildlife management areas within easy driving distance.

This is a nice little park that is easy to get to. Just a couple blocks off US77. All roads and pads are concert and easy to navigate. All sights are full hook up but no shade to speak of. It is basically in the middle of a city park with walking trails, playgrounds, frisbee golf, exercise stations, pavilions, etc. I especially like the river running near the walking trail. Tables and grills provided at each sight. I stayed on a weekend and there were several families with kids staying and enjoying the park. But generally it is a nice quiet place for a stop over. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Interior roads were dirt/gravel and not hard to navigate. Sites are gravel/grass with very good spacing, plenty of room for slideouts, and utilities towards the center of the space. Sites have picnic tables and site 2 has some shade. Restrooms were very basic but fairly clean. Noise is non-existent.

Nobody at the site to collect your fee, (it is honor system). Just put it in the envelope and drop in the box within an hour of setting up. No reservations taken, but I was told to call a day or so in advance and they would let me know how full the camp might be. No WiF but Verizon coverage was very good. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We visited the Homestead National Monument and Freeman School. Great presentation on frontier settlers and the impact on the native Americans. Also nice to see what the prairie looked like when the first emigrants arrived.

This is a great City park to stay at. Spaces were paved, leveled and had full hookups. only jas 20 spaces. Grass off the paved areas. The 30 amp wouldn't work, but the 50 amp worked at our site 16. Luckily we have an adapter for 50 to 30. We enjoyed our stay here. Nice and green. Great place to stay. Just pick a site and pull in. Then go to the box and fill out envelope with payment and put it in the slot. Seems very safe for a state park. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Travel Trailer.

What a pleasant surprise! Very nice, small city park with full hookups. Sites and roads paved. Utilities worked fine. Part of a very nice park complex with walking/biking trail, ball field, frisbee golf, playground. There were several park guests who were obviously workers in the area but mostly quiet, no problem. We really enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Fifth Wheel.

First, this is one side of a two campground park (Riverside is the other). This CG just reopened 7-4-15 after serious flooding this spring and early summer closed them down. At one point there was about 4 feet of water over the park and CG. The park staff has done a great job of making ready for camping. The roads are paved (some in the park will never reopen) and sites are concrete, deep and about 18 or 20 feet wide. Utilities are mid site, 20/30/50, sewer, very short/low power pole so, if you use a surge protector, the equipment will be in the mud. Right now the smell, though not offensive, is of dead and rotting vegetation from the flood. We never did talk to anyone from the park department, except on the phone. Pay at the entrance sign and pick your site here. The dump station here gets a lot of business, every day. The upper part of the park, the pavilion and picnic area is used a lot. The flood damage will eventually blend back in with the rest of the park and the CG is totally useable. In spite of the heat and humidity this is a pleasant place to stay. We did not check out Riverside, across town, but we would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice, quiet city campground inside a city park. The road is paved. The sites are large, long, angled, full hook ups, level and concrete. Many have shade. The host was extremely helpful and friendly. Verizon service strong. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Travel Trailer.

For a city park, this is a great campground. As stated by others, the sites are spacious and layer out much like a commercial RV park, but with more space. Interior roads are now paved! Sites are mostly level concrete pads with water, sewer, and 20/30/50 amp power at all sites - a few are pull-thru. The only issue is the showers. The showers they keep locked (host has the key) to keep kids out but they are still buggy. The park has a nice Frisbee golf course, duck pond, neat old bandstand, and award winning tree. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice city campground. The other reviewers have it right. At the other end of the bike/walking path, (about 3 miles) and on the west side of town in Riverdale park, it looks like they will have another 8 sites. They look like they are all ready to go except for getting some grass growing. I would expect they will probably be open next spring/summer. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Motorhome.

This is a public park maintained by the city. The sites are spacious and layer out much like a commercial RV park, but with more space. Interior roads are gravel, but sites are level concrete pads with water, sewer 30/50 amp power at all sites. In the middle of a city park with a stream running through it. We camped at Chautauqua Park in a Motorhome.
