Bathrooms VERY dirty !!!
Nebraska person at desk NOT very nice... I believe, had I not had my paper work ( which was a year in advance for this site) I think it would have been a lot worse !!! Print your paperwork and take it with you!!!!
Park Ranger is nice...
I have been going to this camp ground my whole life. Over 40 years, I would say the last five it has really went down . Do the work, spend a couple extra bucksgo on the otherside and have a NICE time !!! - Not very clean
Aug 2016 - $20.00
Very nice park, stayed in the Weigand section. As mentioned some (1/3) are for 1st come/1st served which is excellent for folks that are travelling and don't always know months in advance where they will be. Sites are level and yes, some are RIGHT on the water. The Nebraska parks appear to be a little less expensive. Little store at marina was reasonable priced and soft ice cream with flavors a real bargain. Biggest problem - the Mayflies came out one day - 1000's on campsite! Good news they only live 1 day. - BandD
May 2016 - $20.00
This is a very nice state campground with lots of space between campsites, friendly campground hosts, and a small marina. Not all sites are reservable, which is a plus for those of us who don't plan ahead well. There are a number of sites right on Lewis and Clark lake. More than 50% of the sites are double wide, which gives you plenty of room for a camper, vehicle and boat. Both our cell phone (AT&T) and MiFi (Verizon) had good reception. - Bobbi1948

Nice small town campground located in the city park. It is very tight to get into and out. Only small trailers or motorhomes recommended. We camped here with a 25 foot travel trailer . The police collect the fees or you pay at the city office on Main street. Very quiet and well kept up park. Will stay here again. - NE Travelers

This is a beautiful location and definitely worth the fees and hassles of an electric only site. There is a dump station and available potable water. Check in and check out are virtually the same time so this creates a log jam for RVer's wanting to dump at the same time others want to fill. This is a hassle, but if you are aware of the pending wait, then all will be good. - KKL
Aug 2016 - $20.00
Our rate is high as we had kids & grandkids. First time at this park and it was great, if they had full hookups it would have been perfect. Only issue was folks with a large, loud barking dog nearby. The kids loved the beach. Close to town to pick up needed items. Trails were nice, lake was nice. - Sharpe7tex
May 2015 - $19.00
We stayed a week here. They have a wonderful bike path and a challenging 18 hole disc golf course. It is busy on the weekends but very quiet during the week. There are no water or sewer hookups but you can fill up with water at the entrance where the dump station is. We would definitely stay here again. - Lynn-Donny

Aug 2017 - $8.00
Really enjoyed the view at this campground. Back in sites opposite of river. Sites long enough for truck and fifth wheel and wide enough for space between neighbors. Sites back up to forested hill below highway so road noise at minimum. We had one issue with neighboring camper which host addressed promptly. - pwdorris
Jul 2017 - $7.00
Sites a little closer than we would like. Most COE parks have wide, spacious sites.... not so here. - phyllen
Sep 2013 - $16.00
This immaculate park offers quiet sites overlooking the river, and ours was wonderfully shaded by large trees. The park and sites are paved and reasonably level, and the back-in sites are plenty spacious for big rigs with tows. Electrical hookup was convenient. There was no water or sewer, but a clean and convenient dump station is located just outside the park. The bathrooms were modern, clean, spacious and convenient. At such a low price this is one of the best values we've encountered. - DaveInOhio

Verdigre is a small beautiful friendly town located in north central Nebraska. The camp is shady and peaceful. Water is available at hydrants. We use this camp for overnights to visit relatives in the area. The park is set up for smaller trailers and motor homes. - NE Travelers

Jul 2018 - $9.00
This is still one of my favorite parks to camp at. We hadn't been here in a couple of years, but found things to be pretty much the same as the last time we were here - large sites and friendly staff. Our Verizon MiFi, AT&T phones and Dish satellite all worked well. Only thing I wish they could do is clean up the cotton from the cottonwood trees. Our site was white, like it was covered with snow. The sites closer to the lake didn't have that problem. We like this campground, though, and will stay here again when in the area. - Bobbi1948
Jul 2018 - $18.00
Our experience at Cottonwood: 1)upon arrival, we shoveled up 10 large piles of dog poop from previous campers 2) two people set up a hammock between the trees at our campsite...no clue who they were...they were removed by Park Ranger 3) a vehicle in the next campsite where people slept...no tent...no camper...had radio blaring from car 4)told by Park Ranger that he can't "discriminate" where campers sleep...so we left and they stayed. We're avid campers and have stayed here countless times over 20 years. We will not be back until they have guidelines that don't allow loitering and this type of behavior. - rfc5588
Aug 2016 - $15.00
Great location, Remember to get water at the turn off. Dump station and Water station a mile from park. There is a water station in the park if you are close enough or have a very long hose. Park was nice and clean. Spots were crushed granite, lots of trees and friendly folks. - Sharpe7tex

Jun 2018 - $17.00
Popular and very well maintained state park and multiple campgrounds. Electric only and back-in sites. Water to fill tanks is handy and available at multiple locations. Park and campgrounds are on the river side of the dam that creates Lewis & Clark Rec. Area. Only stayed one night but drove in to see Yankton and around the area. All services are very handy. - MMattson
Jul 2016 - $26.00
One of 3 campgrounds part of the Lewis & Clark Recreation Area. These campgrounds are well maintained and managed. Very large sites and many with shade. Good access to/from I-29 to the east or north to Mitchell to catch I-90. Very friendly and helpful staff. - RPWAINC
Apr 2016 - $35.00

Oct 2015 - $1.00
This needed to be updated from 2010 only so others know it is still here and very nice. It is a RV CAMPGROUND not an RV resort. I suppose you could pitch a tent on the nice grass. It is only a short hop off US-20. No traffic and No trains, just quiet. It is just what we were looking for in a place to have a late dinner and spend the night. As noted in the 2010 review, all they ask is a donation. There are only 6 slabs, but all 6 have a picnic table and most have 30amp and water. There is a dump and a dumpster. One might squeeze a big rig in here, but it would be tight - Very tight. We made the requested donation. - Matt_C
May 2010 - $1.00
Not much to complain about, site is right on a small stream and across from the city park. Water and Electric hook ups are placed at an odd angle from each site and a LONG stretch. If you are hooking up you will need at least 30' or more for electric and water hookups. Dumpster is on site and a dump station located right in between to two sites furthest from the entrance. You could wiggle a big rig in, but it is a tight corner coming in, and the sites are exactly 40' long. Each spot has a picnic table as well, and a few trees but no real shade. The park restrooms are across the stream, and what one would expect from those restrooms. Park is free to stay (site made me select a cost but it is FREE not $1). We used this as a jump off spot before moving in conjunction with a two week family vacation so I won't complain at all. Donations are accepted at the city office 2 blocks north. City pool and golf course are right close to the site as well. Great overnight place to stay if you are in the area. In town there is a small grocery store and a great butcher if you want to stock some meats while in town. - jangle
Jul 2007 - $10.00
Hidden gem, stayed here on the way back from SD, due to a friend that lives here. Campground is owned by the city, 10 paved sites with water/electric, no restroom or shower house. Located right next to the city park and swimming pool, which was a blessing after a long day on the road for the family. Pay is on the honor system, still nice to see in this day and age. - Crop Guy

Jul 2013 - $18.00
This is absolutely a "no frills" park. All sites are back ins. It is located right off a highway and if you are not running your A/C at night, there will be lots of traffic noise. Several of the sites are used for seasonal storage. We never saw anyone associated with the park, but email communications with them are good. The owner told me via email that they are working to get WiFi. - jayww
May 2013 - $18.00
Friendly, helpful, bare basics camp. Easy to find, good pull off. The owner, who was working on his farm machinery, gave us a bunch of fresh-picked asparagus for our dinner. Would stay here again. - hwayne
Jun 2012 - $18.00
This is a basic RV Park with good hook-ups. Close to the Missouri River for boating and fishing. Open year round and it's undergoing upgrades. It was operated by a mom but is now being managed by her three sons. Tents not allowed. Self contained rigs only because there are no restrooms or showers. There is no clubhouse. New web site to be online shortly. Be sure to call to make a reservation. I will stay here again when in the area. - bradydane2009

Dirt roads that the locals drive through very fast, kicking up all kinds of dust. Very poor water pressure. Other than that a very nice park. Lots of trees and close to Missouri River. Wide sites with grass. Actually on the Nebraska side of river, but Yankton is closest town. Good Verizon reception. - fulltime.petes
