Grand Island KOA, Grand Island, NE June 2019 Easy off the highway and in the middle of corn fields. Park is very clean and well kept up. Our campsite was grassy and graveled with a shade tree, as were quite a few of the sites. Our campsite was fairly spacious but our neighbor's sewer was only about 9' from our steps and it was 9 or 10' out from the side of his rig...weird set up having the utility hook up in the center of the space. No idea why any park would be designed like this....but other than that one minor issue, we totally enjoyed this park. Pool looks lovely though we didn't use it. Laundry room very clean, big machines, washing is $2.00 per load and dryers are $1.00 for 20 min. Although the camp store is small they make wings and pizzas on site and deliver them to your camper and they host a park dinner on Thursdays. There was also a nice playground and a grassy off leash dog park. Rate: 50 amp FHU $46.00/nite We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Cute campground just off I-80, easy to get to although you do have to drive on gravel to get there, but not very far off the highway. Sites are VERY close together. The neighbor to our front had all of his hoses including sewer all strung over our site which is rude. Not sure we would stay for a weekend, but for overnight it was great. We didn't really spend any time outside, so it wasn't an issue. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical crowded cramped space KOA. It is probably the most well kept KOA we have been to. Flys are bad but to be expected since it is in the country. Quiet even though it is close to the interstate. Verizon signal was ok but At&t was iffy. Wifi worked for us. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

There is very easy access to this campground from the interstate. The park has many mature trees and has cornfields on two sides. The cornfields are nice because they help to buffer the traffic noise from the interstate which is minimal given the proximity to the interstate. The water hook ups are different depending on the site. We had a shared spigot. Our hook up was on the correct side, however the neighbor we shared with had to run a long hose to get to the water hook up on the passenger side of his rig. You may want to inquire about this when making a reservation. The spaces were close together, but no closer than most KOAs. For an overnight spot, it's a lovely KOA and we would return. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical KOA good for a one or two night stay. They were nice and let me park my truck in the site next to us, because there was not enough room in our site to park in front or behind. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We visited a cute little Danish town called Dannebrog. My wife had relatives that lived in this tiny town in the early 1900's

Originally reserved for one night, however, we ran into a trailer brake issue coming out of the Dakotas. The manager worked her magic and got us to remain in the original campsite although she had it booked for the following night. The campground had mature shade trees and the nearby I-80 traffic sounds are minimal due to the surrounding cornfields between the campground and I-80. I was escorted to my site immediately after check in then asked if I needed help setting up. The staff from the owner, manager to the workers are very friendly and will accommodate reasonable requests. They offer pizza delivery (made in the campground office) in the evenings. These are very good people. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Quite a number of trees on the north part. South part not as many. Staff will work with you if you have a dish. We used their cable excellent. OTA get's all 5 networks. Grounds well kept. Sites kind of close but ok. We have business in Grand Island twice a year. Will definitely stay here again. Stayed two nights. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for one night passing through. This was a very basic park - all dirt, with the sites super close to eachother. Thankfully it wasn't even close to full, because our neighbor's awning would have been touching our slides. The sites were level and long enough that we didn't have to unhitch. There is nothing nearby - it's surrounded by corn fields, which makes for a very quiet stay. The facilities were clean and the pool was a good size and in good shape. Definitely not a destination park but it was comfortable for a night. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

First Impression: Road sign states "Pavement ends" then pea gravel into CG. Nice roadside appearance. KOA discount only. Neighbors are close. Safety: no concerns - peaceful. Access: Exit 318 from I-80 then south about 500'. Entrance road is rutted and needs potholes filled. Good CG signage, GPS took us directly in. Office: Nice staff, excellent store with snacks, food items, souvenirs, well-stocked RV equipment items. Hot pizza (quite good) for sale including a breakfast pizza. Wine, cold beer and soft drinks. Facilities: Pool, no spa, no fitness room. Rec room with air hockey and foozball. Large, clean laundry room. Restrooms/showers varnished wood, modern fixtures, clean and attractive, hot, softened water (score "A+"). Propane sales at $3.49/gallon. Big playground. Fenced dog run. Basketball court. Campground: Closed in winter. Not in a flood plain. Roads are dirt/gravel with "be careful" turns. Low tree branches north side (behind office); no overhead obstacles south side. Sites are a bit tight, pull-through. Okay for big rigs. Tent areas, 7 cabins, no yurts. RV sites are dirt/gravel, level in "ok" condition, grass between sites. Utilities at mid-rig with FHU-20/30/50; no meters. Well water with "ok" pressure; good taste. Sewer pipe is unthreaded, 4" above ground level. No patios. Picnic tables. No room for open fires; fire pits in tent areas. South side has good satellite views; north side not-so-much. Free cable TV (36 channels). OTA TV found 9 channels. Free Wi-Fi but I could never get connected. Verizon phone and 4G at 4-bars. No railroad or aircraft but occasional interstate noise. Recycle bins for paper, plastic, aluminum. Bug Report: Small black ants. Runners: CG roads ok for running. Yoga: No place to put mats. Conclusion: If ever in the area again, we'll return - recommended. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Grand Island is 13 miles northwest. Take NE-2 to US-30 west. City is large with national restaurant chains (Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday, etc), fast food (DQ, McD's, Arbys, Taco Bell, etc). Ace hardware, Wal-mart (x2) but no fuel, Cenex diesel at $2.529. Autozone, O'Reilly's. VA medical facility. Churches. Banks. Parks & Recreation.

This was a nice overnight stay for us as we're passing through. Sites were level, trees, gravel interior roads/sites. Bathrooms were clean, as were the showers, though we didn't use. Most KOAs, they have their pools right up front by the office. This one though had it in the back of the park which was a nice setting. Very friendly and visible staff on site. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Pull in headed back to Colorado. They let me stay just one night on a weekend. How awesome is that? Had the envelopes ready for us as we showed up around 10:00 pm and it was raining really hard. Owner still came out in the rain to make sure that we were okay. Park was nicely laid out, easy to maneuver. It's really convenient off from I-80 and has all the luxuries of a good KOA. Forgot to check if they allowed in pets, Called; the lady that answered was really nice, not put out like some people get, very helpful. Gonna stay again next week on my way to Minnesota. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a level, long pull thru so that we could stay hooked up, as this was just and overnight stop. The staff was friendly and helpful and escorted us the the site. Everything worked well and the pool was VERY refreshing after a hot traveling day. Not too far off I80, but quiet at night. Bonus was a crop dusting plane working in one of the adjacent fields. Very nice place. Arrived and received a very fast check-in then were escorted to our stop, which was totally level. Bathroom facilities were very clean, pool area was well kept up. The dog run, while a bit far, was very nice. It is Nebraska, so not much you can do about the swarms of flies. Not sure it could have been a better kept park. We just used this as an overnight, but would most certainly come here again. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Personally we are not fans of KOA although we were forced to this Campground due to the horrible stormy freezing weather. The sites are all gravel and far from being level. This park only operates from 1st April until the middle of October each year. The owners are the only reason we would return. They are superb and go out of their way to deliver top class customer service and are always smiling despite the weather which was terrible and grumpy guests like me. They make pizzas to order and deliver to the door and at a fair price. Yes, we would return only because of the owners. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
