The sites are so close together that after everyone puts their slides out there is barely room for the picnic table between them. About the closest we have been to our neighbors anywhere. Sites are gravel and grass. There is plenty of grass for dog walking around the park. They have recycling bins. Their wifi didn't work for us but our Verizon hotspot did. $45 was expensive for what it was. I doubt we return. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Gravel interior roads and sites. Pull throughs long enough could leave tow hooked up. Grass between sites. Grounds were clean, including the small pool. Distance between sites was minimal, with awning to awning. The park was at capacity, with several RVs in the overflow area. Okay for an overnight. Pricey for not being able to sit out and enjoy the outdoors. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Grand Island has several restaurants. Friday summer evenings there is a free outdoor musical street event downtown.

Rate includes 10% KOA discount for a pull-thru, gravel, level, FHU, 50 amp site. The site was quite narrow, but no one was in the adjoining sites. We had good DishTV satellite reception and good Verizon cell and internet reception. The staff was friendly and the pizza was good. The high cost per night is always an issue with KOA campgrounds. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice campground if you are staying in a small camper with no slideouts. The sights were so narrow that there was no room to walk between RV's. The tires barely fit on the gravel. There was a picnic table but you wouldn't be able to sit at it without hitting your head on the slides. There would be no place to grill out or sit in a lawn chair. You could hear your next door neighbor flush the toilet. There was nice grass between the sites for your dogs but again watch your head. Other than that there was a pool, basketball hoop, dog park. In our area there was plenty of place to walk your dog other than your sight. Hunts Brothers Pizza everyday of the week. An all you can eat breakfast was available at the "chuckwagon" by the pool on Sat. & Sun. & it looked like they served dinner, too. We probably wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Would be a better place to stay if anyone would deliver to this place. Nice and clean. Not very welcoming. Was reprimanded when we arrived by not filling out a overnight sheet that I could not find. There was NO one there and she was trying to make me park as far as possible to the dog park and the kids playground when I have three small kids and 4 dogs. We had to beg her to park near there. Will not return. Very expensive for whats to offer. Charges for coffee too. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

2 mi off I-80 NO traffic noise HOORAY . We camp in a Little Rig "Tear Drop" style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area. 1st impression this is nice - a welcomed site after hours on the road next to cornfield with sites amongst the trees for shade & green grass. But then close up this is a typical KOA with very narrow close together sites packed together like a can of sardines RV park style with gravel pads and roadways. We had a picnic table but strip of grass was very narrow sandwiched between neighbor RV's. There are many cabins for rent and a nice separate grassy area for tenter's; all close to the restroom/showers ~ as were we. So placement of that building was ideally situated. Nice swimming pool area plus overall the grounds are clean and well maintained it shows they care. The building held 6 individual unisex restroom/shower rooms. Down the hall on one side were 3 ea private shower rooms, opposite side were 3 ea private restrooms with a toilet and sink. At one end was an ADA shower/restroom combined. All were modern and clean. Shower rooms had hooks for clothes/towels, wall bench, and rubber floor mat for wet feet. Missing was a shelf for your toiletries stuff. Only NEGATIVE was Lack Of Adequate Ventilation; nonexistent and it got very stuffy in there. Trying to towel off dry was a joke! If you open the door a crack to get air, you're exposed to next person in hallway waiting in line. Restrooms had paper towels so you could clean up your area after and a shelf for toiletries - very thoughtful, but no hooks for towel and clothes. Same ventilation problem. Note: there is a 2nd restroom/shower facility connected to the office We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Personally we are not fans of KOA although we were forced to this Campground due to the horrible stormy freezing weather. The sites are all gravel and far from being level. This park only operates from 1st April until the middle of October each year. The owners are the only reason we would return. They are superb and go out of their way to deliver top class customer service and are always smiling despite the weather which was terrible and grumpy guests like me. They make pizzas to order and deliver to the door and at a fair price. Yes, we would return only because of the owners. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy access from I-80. Long pull-through site; did not have to unhook tow. Pleasant staff made every attempt to accommodate us in our 45 footer. As other reviewers stated, sites are extremely narrow, and park filled up. Felt like we could reach out and touch our neighbors. Very difficult hard right to exit from our site. Would not stay here again. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Very narrow sites in our location. Our awning actually covered part of the adjacent site so much that the incoming motorhome could not pull in. We offered to close our awning but the park management found another site for them instead. I noticed many other similar problems in the park as a result of the narrow sites. The Wi-Fi signal in site #71 was very poor. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

We stopped here for a single night. We had a long pull-thru near the south (open) end of the park. Services were fine and well-located except for the sewer which, at first, I thought was my neighbors. There was a narrow pad with less-than-adequate gravel. There are some seasonal sites but they were nicely maintained. It is nothing special here but ok for overnight and close to the interstate. The price reflects KOA member discount. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Usual high end KOA with no cable. Expensive laundry at $2 a load, $1.50 dryer for an hour. Loved Pioneer Village Museum in Minden, NE. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

I have stayed at many KOA's and I am a little disappointed with these grounds. I would probably drive a little further than to stay here again. It must be older and the spots are closely positioned. They seem to have a lot of permanent campers and they don't seem to bother about 'howling' dogs, we are near a hound dog and some of the renters are in and out using fowl language. If I had my grandchildren or children with I would have to go to the management about this loud verbal use. We are staying for one night. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The rude person I talked on the phone with was only the beginning. When we checked in the man was unfriendly and abrupt. He did want to be bothered to sell up propane. We have stayed here before and had no problems. So I don't know if they have new staff. The spot was easy to access and nice and long. Wifi worked great, no cable. We were in trees so couldn't use our dish. This was just an over night stay so we moved on quickly. Not sure if I would come back. We can overlook allot if the people are the least bit friendly. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
