Stayed in August on a visit to the area and found the park very enjoyable. Most of the parked trailers mentioned in an earlier review were gone and the last two moved out while we were there. New managers who are very helpful and courteous. A little out of the way for the Chadron area but well worth the extra drive for the peace and quiet. The only real problem is the trucks coming in on Hwy 87. There is no Jake Brake restrictions so that can get a little loud at night or early morning. Other than that, we had a great time here. We camped at Sunset RV Park (Formerly Hay Springs City Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Bring what you need or be prepared to drive a good distance to get something. Not much in the way of services until you get to Chadron.

We stayed based on some very nice, but old reviews, that no longer seem accurate. It was a good price for a full hookup ($15), but it has since become a parking lot for unattended trailers. Although there was a host site, we never once saw anyone. It is adjacent to a nice county park and pool. The noise from the highway is quite loud when you are sitting outside. Because there are no reservations, and because parked unattended trailers are taking up 10 of the 12 sites, I wouldn't bank on finding a spot here. We camped at Sunset RV Park (Formerly Hay Springs City Park) in a Travel Trailer.

What a JEWEL. A little gem in the middle of Norther Nebraska. City park, easy in, easy out, 6 pull through spaces, alternate hookups, long sewer and water hookups for some No cable, wifi, a little, sometimes. Big park across the street to walk the dogs. City swimming pool adjacent to park, It wasn't open while we were there, kids back in school. A great place to spend a night or a week seeing the area. Nice small town. would stay again if in area. We camped at Sunset RV Park (Formerly Hay Springs City Park) in a Motorhome.

This is a very eclectic campground with a resident "manager" who was friendly and available. All the other campers were long-term. The sites were generally level with water hook-up only. Payment was made by envelope at an unattended office. What a refreshing change from the formal "check-in" at the big parks. The pool was closed for the season, but the town was taking up a collection to "save the pool"! There is a large, well maintained park across from the campground that offers plenty of exercise for the kids. The amenities in town were all walkable and there was plenty of room to run your dog off leash.

The only negative were the restrooms. They were quite frankly disgusting and in need of upgrading. We camped at Sunset RV Park (Formerly Hay Springs City Park) in a Motorhome.

City campground, lights, water, sewer. There is a pay box on site but we went to city hall and paid to get wifi password. Wifi was ok but kept getting knocked off and have to sign on again, even with the repeater. Right next ot swimming pool and good eats downtown Only about 10-12 spaces. More of a overnight stop than a destination stop. We camped at Sunset RV Park (Formerly Hay Springs City Park) in a Travel Trailer.

As the others have said, a nice little city park (signs say "Sunset RV Park") at the edge of Hay Springs next to a residential area. Quiet; relatively dark night skies; full hookups (30/50 amp), long pull-thru lots..all for the price of $15. You cannot beat that anywhere. JL Grocery store about 4 blocks; restaurant across the street. If you stay for more than one night, take the short trip to the Saint Mary's Cemetery and look at the stones in the monuments built by Mr. Reid. Absolutely outstanding!! We would have no problems staying here again. We camped at Sunset RV Park (Formerly Hay Springs City Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park at the junction of US 20 and Nebraska 87. Clean. Next to the city pool with daily, weekly and monthly rates. We were the only ones here when we stayed. Self pay envelopes at the office building. Quiet residential area. Fifty amp service was relatively new, all hook-ups in good condition. Would certainly stay again, if in the area. Nice quiet campground 1 block off highway 20. We travel in a 40 foot coach plus toad. No showers, but full hookup to dump tanks and take on good water. Not busy. Small town, city park, ball diamond and swimming pool next to campground. Not flashy, but a decent place to stop for the night. 10 pull through and 4 back in spots. We camped at Sunset RV Park (Formerly Hay Springs City Park) in a Motorhome.

What a neat place. Full hookups in a little city park. The little town is neat also: a farmersmarket, and a restaurant for a good steak meal. We camped at Sunset RV Park (Formerly Hay Springs City Park) in a Travel Trailer.
