We stayed one night while passing through. The staff treated us well and checkin was fast. The interior roads are well marked since most are one way. We really liked our site right on the water even though the river was higher than normal. The sites along the river do not have sewer connections but this is a great park. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This was a pleasant surprise for a city park. Very large sites with good utilities. Nice walking trails, YMCA next door and views of the river. Some permanent campers but most clean and net. Would stay here again. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a great rv park right on the Missouri River. Our site was level and hook ups were excellent. The freeway was just across the river, but there was very little noise. We read some reviews that complained about the trains, but they were way off in the distance and didn't bother us a bit. We would definitely stay at this park again. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice park on the Missouri River. Sidewalks, paths, playground and level sites with concrete pad. Gave it only 3 stars due to train noise all night and a lot of local traffic around the campground that didn't make me feel the safest. Would be better if they had a gate with a code at the entrance overnight. But would stop again for an overnight visit... especially at $34/night full hookups/pull thru. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This campground offers many benefits. It has large pull through spaces, some with concrete patios but all have nice green spaces, picnic tables and fire rings. We had full hookups that were dependable and the pull through spaces were very long so there is plenty of room. Great spacing between sites as well so you don't feel cramped. Lots of big cottonwood and maple trees in the park provide nice shade but there are some with unobstructed view of the sky for satellite dishes. The cable TV service was good but the wifi was unstable and we had a difficult time connecting and loading data. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. There are a lot of trees so if you have satellite, be sure to ask for an open space. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A medium sized RV park owned and operated by the city of South Sioux. Located on the banks of the Missouri River and part of a large city sports and recreation area with ball fields and a community pool adjacent to the park. Interior roads are paved and easy to navigate. Sites are all back-ins, gravel with decent spacing and grass between sites. About half/half between open space and tree shade as the guests are also about 50/50 permanents/transients. Lots of (I think) well intentioned rules regarding permanents having to remove skirting in the spring and keep junk off sites etc. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is just over the river from Sioux City Iowa and close to shopping and restaurants (although Nebraska/Iowa cuisine isn't anything to get excited about). Hard Rock Casino nearby. Lewis and Clark camped here in 1805 and there is a nice museum/interpretive center as well as a steam paddle wheeler to visit.

Very nice city park. Hookups were good, WiFi was weak but our booster helped. It was a pull through site but the hookups were too far back. We unhooked the toad and parked it in front of the motorhome. Lots of great restaurants available in Sioux City and the view of the Missouri River was great. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is one of the nicest city parks we've stayed in. The roads are easy to navigate within the park. The sites were good sized and fairly level and the signage was good. The park staff were super friendly and very helpful. This park is right on the Missouri River and prone to flooding on the lower sections. PLEASE NOTE: Do NOT follow the GPS, it will take you into the Y parking lot. When you turn onto Riverfront drive, simply follow the BLUE CAMPING SIGNS. Quite possibly the nicest city-run campground I have ever stayed at. Was going to spend only 2 nights, but a late spring blizzard in SD forced us to stay 6 nights. Luckily they had a lot of spaces to choose from. Long and wide sites. A lot of space between sites. Easy to maneuver around the loop roads as long as one of the permanent residents doesn't decide to park half in the road. Some sites have a nice view of the river. No fenced dog run, but lots of places to walk the dog. Too bad some permanent residents do not pick up their dogs' waste. Reported it to the office, no idea if they will tell the offender to clean their mess. Plenty to do in Sioux City. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderful City Owned/Operated park right on the Missouri River. 5 minutes from downtown Sioux City, IA and all that it has to offer. Our site was a backin (#5) and was plenty long for both trailer and tow vehicle. Utilities well placed and we had no problems getting in nor out. Campground has firewood for sale as well as a bike rental to cruise the bike route through the city and along the river. Some construction happening in the East side of the park which will add or upgrade a few more sites. Only negative is that their Wi-Fi was spotty. But for the price and location, this is a great park. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

A great little city park right on the Missouri River, directly across from Sioux City, Iowa. Our site (#41) was back-in, had a cement pad and full hook-ups including cable. We weren't right on the river but it was in our view directly in front of us. Roads are paved and easy to navigate. Some seasonals here but park is well maintained. Very quiet at night. The rate can't be beat. AT&T signal was strong, T-Mobile partner had strong signal but no data. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We had a gravel and grass back-in site facing the river - had everything except sewer. The roads are paved. Our site and others next to it have quite a bit of slope. We double blocked our front jacks and got level but we saw several rigs with their front tires off the ground. The sites not along the river appear to be more level. Some of the sites have a small concrete pad. Looks like they don't clean sites between campers. Our fire pit was a disgusting combo of cigarette butts and empty packs among other trash. The fire pit in the site next to us looks similar. We didn't use the restroom. Friendly office staff. Cable worked well. Didn't try the wifi since I was told at check-in that it really didn't work. Verizon hotspot was fine. Lots of grass for dog walking but beware the stickers in some of the grass along the river. Trains pass through nearby. Despite the negatives it was pleasant to have the river view and it is very close to everything to do in Sioux City. We would stay again if in the area. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Lewis and Clark center is interesting, nearby and free. The Floyd Monument is a little farther but worth seeing. Excellent farmer's market Wednesday and Saturday across the bridge at the arena. Palmer's Candy also worth a stop.

We stayed in one of the non-reserveable spots since the park was booked. This spot had no sewer and the water was about 75 feet away. I'm sure this spot was intended for only overnight stays, but we ended up staying a week due to mechanical problems with our MH. The park is very nice if you can get a spot close to the river, but our spot was surrounded by permanent residents and travelling workers. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are plenty of things to keep you busy in the area. We learned a lot about the Lewis and Clark expedition. The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and Welcome Center were very good. Make sure and buy your liquor on the Nebraska side as it is much more expensive in Iowa. Palmer Candies and Jolly Time popcore shops are located on the Iowa side. Good museums there also.
