Overall Rating:

We planned to dry camp in the Valentine area on our way to SD. Our dry camping location didn't pan out and found Wacky West in a pinch. The owner answered her cell phone despite being out of town. She relayed our anticipated arrival to the CG to the front desk and they were expecting us. The staff had some difficulty figuring out which site to place us. The board they used to track occupied sites wasn't updated and it took them about 10 minutes to figure it out. Despite the hang up, they were pleasant and apologetic. We were directed to a grass FHU site. The sewer connection and pedestal were somewhat far apart and the way my neighbors parked made it difficult to hook up the sewer and the utilities. It was extremely hot and the park's voltage was running around 110-115 volts. We had to pick A/C, microwave, or water heater because our autoformer kept kicking the breaker to protect the trailer. The (sewer) connections were not always next to the utility pedestals. Longer or multiple hoses may be required. The drives were fine rock that weren't too dusty. The grass wasn't trimmed well so the kids had to walk through tall grass to play on the jungle gyms set up for the kids. This is a good overnight spot. I would stay here again, but not for an extended amount of time. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed 3rd week of May. Office open 8-10 am, grass not mowed in months, bath and showers locked, not secure, continuous smell from stockyard next door, typical $18 Passport America park. Left early next day. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.

They had limited facilities during the cold months, However, we did have a full hook up that were centrally located. the shower house was closed due to weather. The rate was $20.00 cash to everyone regardless of club membership. We made reservation via phone and the owner said they would not be there over the holiday but had space, self register. The site was level, wifi and antenna worked ok. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Fifth Wheel.

For my family this is the best park we have stayed in since we began our summer vacation 3 weeks ago. Pull through with plenty of room and my total length is 59 feet truck and trailer. The sites are flat so I didn't have to do any leveling. The site is gravel but clean. I wasn't hit with a bunch of rules when I arrived and my boys, 12 and 8, played outside and did not get into any trouble for the first time. We have a nice shade tree on the south east which is very nice with a picnic table. The manager is a first rate person with a heart of gold. WIFI here is the best we have been able to get anywhere on the trip. We are staying two nights as I always have a down day between travel days. It is super quiet here so my 12 year old slept till 10:30 and my 8 year old is still sleeping at 11! I highly recommend this park if you don't need the park to provide everything for you. Grocery store across the street and the theater is beside the park. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Fishing pond for kids at the end of town. Bike trail runs right past the park and goes for 220 miles. A few miles out of town it goes over the river @150feet above the water. Easy access to the park.

Camp hosts were very nice and helpful. The spot they put me on had trees on both sides. Hit tree limbs as I pulled into my spot My spot was barely long enough for my 40' motorhome and toad. There was a picnic table and grill. I couldn't put out my slides without hitting tree limbs. On leaving I had to drive through low limbs on two trees. I would not stay here again. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Motorhome.

A very small "mom & pop" run place. Owners were very nice and helpful. Campground is small, no pool & an outdated playground. Other than that, just a great place to stop for a few days while passing through. Very close to town with a "rail trail" walking/biking trail right through town which features usual small town shops and eateries. Free cable (with owner supplied box), no Sprint cell service & no WiFi. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We had booked two nights through our Coast to Coast and it was $15 per night plus fees for 50 amp. We read the previous reviews and knew it wasn't going to be park like or resort like but had expected better. The place is in horrible condition. We drove through and didn't even stop. We were embarrassed at the condition of the units that were parked there, the grounds, and junk piled up in front. We were willing to forgo the fee for cancelation to just leave. Not sure how Coast to Coast can put their name on this park. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Small and old park. Decaying but serviceable for anone night stopover. Right in town. Everything nearby. Roads are a bit tight for a big rig, but fine if you go slow and easy. Very dusty so be prepared for that. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for 2 nights. We have a 41 foot MH with a towed. There were several spots that were long enough. The sites are level and the water is good. Full hookups. There are several dilapidated old units that appear to be inhabited full time.

The managers were very nice. There is a lot to do in the area. Downside was that the park needs to be refreshed a bit and have better trash removal. Bin was overflowing and smelled bad. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Motorhome.

This park if you call it that is more like a parking lot. In fact it is a gravel parking lot. No one works here you pay at the entrance. Spots are laid out pretty well and easy to pull through. If you are spending more than a night or two in the area you may want to lool elsewhere. The trains in this town are insane. They are nearly constant and even though 4 miles away they sound like they are next door. Bring earplugs if you do not like trains. Verizon cell service was fine. Satellite easy. Overall Rating:

A good overnight stop at the Passport America rate. Our GPS took us down the back streets to bring us to the entrance; it's easier to stay on 20/83 and look for the park across from the Boomgars/IGA shopping center. We had a long, multi-site pull-thru with plenty of room on the curb side; most sites looked a bit short for long 5th wheels. Interior roads and sites are gravel, ours was very level, with convenient hookups. At check-in we were offered a cable box by the very friendly and helpful owner, but deferred and used our satellite. Clear views of satellites, Verizon cell/data were strong, and the park WiFi worked very well. Noise from trains was not significant but the constant bawling of cattle in the nearby feed lot was distracting. A good stay with the PA rate; otherwise overpriced. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Motorhome.
