Easy to get in and out. All gravel. Sites pretty level. Utilities worked well, water pressure very high. WiFi did not work half the time, you may be able to connect but no throughput. Restrooms had poor ventilation so sometimes smelled bad, showers not appealing to step into. Many trees to satellite reception is hit or miss. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Truck Camper.

Roads and sites gravel and fairly level. FHU's with 20,30,50 amp with pull thru and back in sites. Bathrooms and showers clean but dated. The showers had good hot water and good pressure. Laundry is hit and miss and the manager/maintenance guy was working on it. If you're going to book a site the reservation system is a bit balky so I would suggest a call between 4-7pm otherwise you get rolled to voice mail at a different number. They have a bar on site that's open from 4-7 but no food. The managers are great and have a lot of information on the area. They have some shaded spots but you will get sun direct depending on the time of day and season. Come fully stocked with food and beverages for your stay. We'd stay here again if we're in the area. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Motorhome.

A word about Baker and Great Basin NP. It's been discovered and rv spaces in Baker are limited so I would strongly suggest reservations prior to arrival. Close to Great Basin NP and walking distance from everything in town. There are some supplies in the town of Baker and with 2 restaurants with limited hours. Kerouac's is a great Bistro with a more than fully stocked bar and a bartender that knows his stuff and great food at a pretty reasonable price.

Other reviews pretty much capture it - if you gotta have full hook-ups in Baker this is it. Gravel surface throughout. Some trees. ok utilities. Verizon ok. Took a look at the bath, its seen better days but that pretty much fits Baker as a whole. Friendly staff, helpful, cooperative. I'd stay again if I needed full hookups. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here when we were visiting Great Basin National Park. In the very small town of Baker, I was happy to find a pull through site with full hook-ups. This campground worked well for the three nights we were there while visiting the park. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This place is exactly what rural Nevada is all about. We decided to visit Great Basin NP on our recent trip and chose this spot for it's location. It's not much. They appear to have limited 50 amp sites, so you may have very close neighbors if the park gets used. The hotel fills up every night and the park gets it's fair share of use as well. The park could use some TLC and that would improve it's rating for sure. Well worth the stay for two nights so we could visit the park. It's just a funky cool little place. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is THE place to stay when visiting Great Basin NP. Staff was very nice. We were a bit uncomfortable with kids from the adjacent motel running around the entire RV park, screaming outside our rig. But that's life on the road. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It's rather junky-looking, but hook-ups are good. Sites are flat and level. Their WIFI is off and on. Quiet. We had "extended" cell coverage therefore my WIFI wouldn't work. The restroom/showers were not cleaned the week we were there; they never emptied the trash in there. I observed general public using the shower house and men going into the Ladies Room. One working washer in the laundry (also not cleaned). There isn't much in the town. One store which was open 4 days a week for half a day, a post office and a cafe. One unattended fuel station with one diesel pump out of order and the other one questionable-place looked like Whodunit so we drove to another town and pulled in 3 stations before we found a working diesel pump. Later we found one non and one working diesel pump at The Border Inn (also an RV park) a few miles from Baker. Great Basin National Park is 6 mi. and is absolutely gorgeous place to visit with good hiking trails especially in the fall. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Not much to choose from in little Baker NV. This is a very small RV park, that is pretty casually run, though we didn't have any issues. There are big rigs, small rigs and even some tents. Wasn't sure how to check in when we arrived, then a woman waved to us and she was the one to talk to. Our site was quite un-level side to side, and the gravel meant our Anderson levelers slipped a bit, but we made it work. Very quiet at night, some shade during the day (90 degrees) and super convenient to Lehman Caves and Great Basin visitors centers. Full hookups, but randomly distributed fire rings and picnic tables. I looked at but did not use the laundry facilities, they seemed fine, not pristine, but fine. This is such lovely country that it is worth the trip and though a bit rugged, I would stay here again without question. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Rate included a discount for veteran status. The site was pull-thru, gravel, not level, with FHU and 50 amp electric. We had weak Verizon reception. We had good DishTV satellite reception. The park is a bit rough around the edges, but it is close to Great Basin National Park. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Motorhome.

Excellent location in the Great Basin: near US-50 (the "Loneliest Highway in the US"), the National Park and Lehman Cave Visitor Center. Sites are spacious and level; many are shaded. Good water and electric service. Office is not staffed until after 4 pm but phone is answered or calls returned promptly; two residents welcomed us and helped us get set up. No OTA television; Verizon service was very poor (only one tower for every phone in the large area.) Laundry was fine. We did not use the bathrooms. We stayed there three nights and had a lovely time. Would stay there again. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Motorhome.

Two restaurants (and bars) within walking distance. Lehman Caves Visitors Center is a good option on a hot afternoon - even if you don't enter the cave! The movies are excellent, rangers are nice and there is a long shaded porch outside the cafe and gift shop.

This park is a gem. We found it only after finding the adjacent national campgrounds full. But I'm glad they were. This park is located in town and everything is within walking distance. The campground office is also a bar and had a good selection of beer to go as well. Electricity is strong. Sites are seemingly all full hookup. WiFi is actually useful unlike many other parks. No cable, but over the air TV is plentiful. The visitor center for the NP is a short walk from the campground. The entrance to the NP is also close so driving into the park is easy. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I'd like to say you get what you pay for but with filthy bathrooms, malfunctioning hookups, and non-existent management, this place should cost a lot less. It is about as convenient as you can get to Great Basin NP, but that is the best I can say for it. Bathrooms were never cleaned or restocked during our 3 night stay. Electric hookup did not work (guy passing on his Gator said "Eh, they're old and half of 'em don't work") so we had to plug into the next site over. Sites are positioned awkwardly so gaps between rigs are not consistent and some end up facing each other at very close range. I would rather dry camp than stay here again. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tried to stay at the GBNP campground but it was full and only the lower campground was open, April 6, 2018. Went back to Baker to see if we could get in here, as we stayed here a few years back and really liked it. We were able to get a back-in spot for the night with full hookups. This time was better then the last. We were in the back corner of the campground and it was amazingly quiet. As quiet as the Dead Horse Point Campground we stayed at the week before. Great campground! Great manager! We didn't go this time but the bar is a fun place to get a drink and relive your youth (without all the drama). I will be back! We have a 32 foot motorhome towing a jeep. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a medium-sized RV park with mostly pull-throughs, and is rather old. Yet the management is working hard to update it. Our site was all gravel, with good hookups. Sewer was slightly above ground and a force fit. The showers/bathroom were very dated but clean, as was the good-sized laundry room. There is also a motel on-site. The WiFi was slow but serviceable when it was running (which was about half the time). There is no Verizon 4G, but we did get 5 bars of 3G. The local tower is definitely over-subscribed and slow. If we visit once more Great Basin National Park, we would be happy to stay here again. We camped at Whispering Elms Campground in a Motorhome.

Great Basin National Park! Be sure to reserve the cave tours at least a few days ahead of time. The longer one is the better, but they are both great. They usually have an astronomy night, once a week, and when we were there, there were over 175 people, so it's very popular. We ate at Kerohuac's... pricey and very limited menu but worth it. The coffee at the Magic Bean Coffee Cart was quite good, and they have pastries too.
