I would say this is about a 7.5 RV park. The positives were the access roads were really wide to get into your spot, and the trees provided some nice shade. We were in spot # 44. I don't like gravel road RV parks, because of the dust, but the dust did not seem to kick up while we were here? We camped at Ely KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely do the train museum and take the morning train ride. We did the museum this time, and we will do the train ride the next time we are here. Be aware if you have AT&T as your cell phone service, your time on your phones will jump to Mountain time, even though you are still in the Pacific time zone. Apparently they built a huge cell tower that is over the border that y our phones will pick up on. The town is pronounced Eleee.

This was a one nite stay on our road trip and for that it was ok. The park is large and some sites were quite spacious (ours was). The utilities are ok but the 50 amp outlet was badly cracked. The sites look fairly level but we ran out of jacks in front before we leveled up. I noticed the next morning when I took the trash that the majority of the rigs on the front row were blocked up pretty high. The folks in the office were pleasant. My biggest complaint was the dust. Anytime anybody drove through it kicked up a cloud of dust. All in all an ok place with no real issues. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.

My wife and I called while on the road at around two P.M. reserving for two nights. We wanted to take our grandson on a tour through the caverns at Great Basin National Park. After arriving at about four p.m. we checked on the internet to reserve tour tickets only to find that absolutely none were available. I went immediately to the office to cancel the second night---only to be told that it would be impossible due to their cancellation policy. I might add that we actually got the last space available for the first night, so they were clearly not hurting for campers. I will never stay here again, and it will definitely color my thoughts about other KOAs. We camped at Ely KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed on our way from Tahoe to Utah...we did two nights so that we could explore Ely and the train museum. We had a nice pull through site. Neighbors not too close, hookups easy enough, site level. Some of the sites have beautiful views across the valley, most of those seem to be reserved for long term tenants, which there was a fair number of. Those sites were tidy for the most part. Office staff was pleasant and helpful. We would stay again when passing through Ely. We camped at Ely KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Ely is an older town, lots of closed businesses in the downtown area. We primarily did the train museum and the Renaissance village; we were able to do both in one day, both were interesting. It looked like there are a lot of off road trails, would love to come back sometime with our Razr to explore.

Friendly people, a functioning laundry, great showers and a site with mountain view: that's what we got on a wet, snow-ridden day in mid-May 2019. Without a reservation. Full hook-up or water/elec level sites, good AT&T and wifi near the office building. For us it was an excellent campground. We camped here for 1 night in a motorhome. Great owner, but basic park for a KOA All gravel park with some trees (may or may not interfere with satellite dish) Good water, power, sewer Lots of sights near by, plenty of 4x4 trails, Coke Ovens, Steam Train that you can rent and drive yourself !!!!! at train museum. Couple of good local museums, Near the Pony Express Trail (there is a loop that follows part of the route that is a full day trip (over 100 miles long on dirt road) No real shopping in this area, (nearest Walmart is 190 miles away. Price reflects KOA club discount. This is a nice park located a few miles out of Ely along Highway 93. All roadways and sites are gravel. Full time residents are parked along the front/highway side. The office/store is typical of most KOAs with RV and camping supplies, food items, souvenirs, and area information. Propane and fire wood are available. All sites are pull through and most all are very level. We unhooked; plenty of room to park along side the MH. Picnic table and fire pit at each site. There is a small book exchange in the laundry room. Verizon cell and MiFi worked well. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Twin Wok Restaurant, 700 Park Ave., has a buffet lunch with a variety of items. The Ridley's Family Market, 1689 Great Basin Blvd., is being remodeled; a bit of a jumble, but still found what we needed.

The park was full which surprised us, lots of full timers. There sites where just okay giving the whole park a run down feeling. All gravel park with little or no grass. The utilities worked fine and access was easy with wide roads. It is okay for an overnight stay just lacking in charm. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.

The interior roads are wide gravel and easy to get around. The sites are gravel and most are long enough to stay connected. There are trees. The staff is friendly. The park is well maintained. there are long term campers but they are located tougher and are well maintained. The sites are about average space between. It is a good spot to use as base to see the area. We camped at Ely KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Our site was on the end of the row, what a view! We were close to the dog park and our site had some shade. The staff was friendly and helpful! Roads and sites were gravel. The end site had some grass. Overall, it was a very good campground for our 2 nites. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.

Rate includes a 10% KOA discount. Site was pull-thru, gravel, level with FHU and 50 amp electric. The park WiFi was weak. We had good Verizon voice and data reception. We could not get DishTV satellite reception because of trees. The laundry facility was clean and inexpensive. This was an overnight stay, but it would have been pleasant for a longer stay. We would stay here again. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.

mostly dirt and packed gravel for entire park but dog park was grass covered. staff at checkin were exceptionally kind and polite and were all very service oriented. park was very full and no vacancies anywhere close so we expected abrupt service. Only park close to nearby National Park and still an hour away. when traveling in this area, keep your tank full as fuel stops may be many hours between. some steep grades in the area so beware and make extra plan for time and fuel. Park actually allowed fires in their pits as long as wind condition permits, since this was the height of dry season and fires were cropping up everywhere around us we were shocked they allowed them. Good park, great staff. We camped at Ely KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed one night at the Ely KOA. I was surprised how nice the Ely, Nevada area is and the KOA is an attractive campground. It was pretty much filled to capacity and we were given a level site. Sites are separated by wooden fencing. There's groceries and a gift shop in the office building. We would stay here again. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a quiet, above-average KOA. We stayed overnight while driving through on U.S. 6/50. The park is conveniently located next to the highway on the eastern edge of town, but far enough away that there is not a lot of highway noise. The pull-through sites are pretty roomy width-wise, and long enough to keep a 30-foot travel trailer hitched to the tow vehicle. There is some slope to most of the sites that will likely require some leveling work. Everything is gravel, no pavement. On my one visit to the bathroom facilities (which are part of the office complex at one end of the park, which may require a long walk for those camped at the opposite end) they were decent but in need of cleaning. There are quite a few long-term residents at this park, probably more than 50 percent on most nights. We had a pretty good pizza and salad delivered to the rig. We camped at Ely KOA in a Travel Trailer.
