We stayed 2 nights to stock up on groceries and recharge batteries after boondocking. This is just a county fairground open area to park for one or 2 nights. Many older trailers and homesteaders. Nice groundskeeper, let us know what time he would be irrigating. No security....definitely locked, even up and put on padlock. Would stay again overnight We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

If you like road noise, 30 amp power, extremely bumpy roads and sites, low hanging trees, military jets (think Top Gun) making their braking turn right over the CG, no picnic tables and disgusting showers, then this is the place for you. Given what I know now I would have just boondocked east of Fallon on HWY 50. On the plus side they did have a lot of space available and they didn't do the flood irrigation when we were there on a Wednesday. They take cash and in state checks at the kiosk near the showers, you might be able to pay with CC if you can track down where the office is. The utility hook ups are well protect with a a pipe rail that will do some damage to your rig if you hit it. The only way I'd stay here again would be if its too hot and needed AC. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Had to go back to Fallon for more truck repairs This time we went over to the Churchill County Fairgrounds. It is a grass lot that provides water and electric. There is a RV dump. The spaces are large and pull through. The spaces are a bit rough but we were able to level up and at $15 per night we were not going to complaine. The RV section is right next to Hwy 95but the traffic noise tolerable. It is first come, first serve. Please note they flood irrigate the grass on this field on Wed. And it can get a bit muddy. We stayed at this RV camp at the beginning of our 8 week trip and stayed there on the return. Had fun going to the free rodeo. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Your basic Fairgrounds affair. Dirt lot with some trees and grass. Power and water - only 30 amp. They do flood watering so if you are there when they do it or a few days after it is very muddy. Great value, quiet. Paid dump on site $5.00. May be another location on site with paved (bare lot) but did not stay in that area. Best element is the price!! Unfortunately the campground is flood irrigated on Wednesday mornings. We arrived late afternoon and had a hard time finding a site that didn't have a lot of standing water or mud. This Park has Hwy 95 on one side and a busy rural road on another. There was a lot of traffic noise. That said, it is a cheap place to stay. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Next to the fairgrounds is a huge outdoor sports complex. We watched high school lacrosse practice and 2 baseball practices. Plenty of space to take a walk.

I parked at a site with 50 amp power but when I plugged in the surge protector kicked in saying the incoming voltage was too high (132V). I ended up plugging into another pedestal with a 30 amp connection to get power. Otherwise the site was OK. Camping area is right next to a busy highway with a fair amount of nighttime truck traffic. As this is on the eastern side of the fairgrounds you also get an occasional strong whiff of manure odor. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here on a Saturday and there was an equestrian event in progress. Several horse trailers and RVs in the campground but it was not crowded. Ground is a bit uneven and has some soft spots but there are numerous old cottonwoods to provide good shade. We arrived early and watched part of the competition. Nice to see such a well used and maintained facility. Note that the park does not take out of state checks. The dump station requires payment by credit card but it was not locked the day we were there. Significant road noise even on the weekend, but it was pretty quiet during the night. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground is no-frills, but it is a perfectly adequate overnight stop. I was the only one there on that particular night. The normal cost is $14 for a night, but this had been discounted to $12 due to the water being off [because of sub-freezing temperatures]. Restrooms were closed because of this. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This place was much cooler with the shade from its trees than the Bonanza Casino asphalt lot we tried before settling here. There is some road noise as the nearby intersection is a major one for trucks headed south on Hwy. 95. Not terribly objectionable though. AT&T worked ok. 30a power was good. Ground was relatively level. Drive slowly as there are some sandy areas near sites. Other than one tent, we were only people in campground. FWIW...the reg. board is just south of the dump station. We didn't notice it when driving in. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Great self-pay campground. The grounds are clean and it is within walking distance of a small casino, a DQ drive-in, and several other businesses. It was a great place to spend a night on our way through town - easy in, easy out. We didn't even have to unhook. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This county fairgrounds park is our regular stopover spot when traveling Highway 50 towards the west. It's cheap, shady, reasonably level and offers water/electric hookups with a nearby dump station. Restrooms and showers are nothing fancy but they are kept clean and as long as the rodeo or a horse show aren't in town, it doesn't smell too bad either! Did we mention it was $14? Such a great deal and we always feel safe. Fair amount of road noise so bring the earplugs or run the a/c to drown it out. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

We were scared to death at this place. About midnight a car pulled up right behind us with lights blazing into our camper. It woke us up, and when we realized it was not another camper, we sat up straight in bed. Then this car pulled within inches of us and drove by. We could barely sleep the rest of the night. In the morning another camper, also scared, suggested that they were checking license numbers to see if you paid by envelope. Next time I will skip this place! Overall Rating:

This is a very convenient stopover campground along Highway 50. Run by the city, the Churchill Fairgrounds are first come/first serve and availability depends on whether events are scheduled at the fairgrounds such as the Pro Senior Rodeo. Grass sites are shaded by big cottonwood trees. Electric and water service at each site along with a trash can. Nearby restrooms were very clean and showers are also available. There is some road noise but not terrible. Access is easy and just about any size rig can be accommodated. We camped at Fallon Churchill Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.
