Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Price reflects monthly rate of $450.00 + tax = 504.00) I made no reservation, simply drove in beginning of November and stayed a month. Friendly staff. The usual setup in North Las Vegas with a few small trees and close to bus station to go into town. Gravel driveways, level pull through and back in sites on gravel, long enough but a bit narrow, however enough for awning and slideouts, standard hookups with 50 amp power only at our site, water, sewer, cable TV, WiFi and hardwired Internet(!), the WiFi cut out only few times during the month but I was hardwired with my main computer and was happy, cable TV with lots of channels, plenty of them double, I didn't try satellite but it might work on most of the sites. Enough sites for big rigs. There is a pool with really warm water. Washrooms and Laundry with toploaders + 2 Frontloaders were clean and looked good even though the cedar paneling makes it dark inside and you really need the lights. Some longtimers didn't disturb the overall picture. You have to get used to starting F-15's and F-16's from Nellis Air Force Base just a bit north of the Park, but they don't fly on weekends and on the other days it's not really that bad. Additionally, in the background, you always hear the sirens of police cars and ambulances as the North Las Vegas Police station is only 3 miles south of the park. On weekends you hear the muffled engine noise from the race track in the far distance. We will stay again at this park. The WiFi and hardwired Internet is definitely a big plus compared to other parks. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Drive through gravel spot Took a 1 inch board to level side to side. Spot was about 60 feet long; did not have to unhook the truck. Good WI-FI and lots of cable channels. A picnic table was provided and rocks divided sites. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Good Casino, Coffee Shop, Saloon next door. Good food, reasonable food, with discounts available. Would have given higher review if I didn't need a board to level side to side.

We really like this park. It was very clean and the staff was very nice. Our only negative was with the entrance to the park. You have to make a figure 8 after you have registered which if you are pulling a car can be a bit difficult. The entrance is a little confusing. Other than that it was great. Overall Rating:

We always stay at this park when traveling north on the I-15 from Palm Springs, CA to Utah. It is convenient to the freeway, restaurants and gas stations. They provide a good, clean and reasonably safe place to spend the night. There is a restaurant on site that provides good food at reasonable prices so you don't have to unhitch and drive out to dinner.
We will stay at this park again. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We were looking for a convenient and reasonable overnight stay for our final leg to our Southern California destination. Easy access from I-15: Exit 50 east two miles, right turn on Las Vegas Blvd - it is on the left. Very helpful office. The best security we've ever encountered-block walls and security gate. Keys for restroom/showers. Yeah, it is July in Las Vegas, so it was hot but the pool was inviting. We were hungry so, went next door for late lunch/dinner (with a discount coupon for free drinks - buy one, get one free.) to the "Hitchin Post Steak House and Saloon." Really cold beer and great 1/2 pound burgers. Plenty of power to run our A/C and appliances. Great WiFi access. Friendly neighbors. For some reason, couldn't get cable - didn't matter anyway - we had DVD's, which we usually watch instead of TV. Trees are planted at each site, but may take awhile to mature for maximum shade from Las Vegas summer sun. The best, absolutely best washroom and shower facilities ever!!! Would we stay there again? Oh, heck yeah!!! We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Extra security. Everything was locked.

WIFI had strong WIFI signal but no internet access.

In extreme heat, power to coach was low and you couldn't run multiple air conditioners for a few days. This was a complaint of several other campers.

Attached restaurant was great. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

It was fine for an overnight stay for a big rig. The dog park area was small but nice. All grass. It also had a free dog wash area, which was a nice surprise, and we took advantage of it to give our German Shepherd a bath. The security in this place was a little over the top. I can only assume this must be in a bad part of town, because it was difficult to get in and out. All of the exits had the non-reversible treads that would puncture your tires if you went the wrong way. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

I am not sure of the neighborhood this park is in. Lovely park, check in was friendly and fine. However, person in office had to buzz us into the office and there is a high wall and gates that enclose the park. You need to get a remote from the office to open the gates. I have never encountered this before, nor have I ever been through Las Vegas before so this may be "normal" for Las Vegas. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice office staff. Yes I’ll agree it is not the best of “neighborhoods” but the park is gated and everyone inside are of good character so we really did not feel threatened at all. It always seems to be a chore to find an RV park in Vegas. Most are too expensive, too uppity, too far away or blacktop city. This is a great park with plenty of spaces but it can be very tight for big rigs towing when trailer towers are parked in the narrow drive paths. Consider scouting and/or dropping before you go in. One lane was completely blocked by a truck pulling a popup trailer of all things. There is no grass at the sites so dog walking is a chore but they do have dog runs. We do not visit dog runs due to the unknown diseases and temperaments that uncaring dog owners can bring in but there is some grass out front of the motel that our girl could roll in. Sites are narrow but our 40ft with slides fit ok; however our tow seemed to be in the way no matter where we put it. This was a quick 2 night stay so we didn't get to use any of the facilities. Wifi was reasonably good with several hotspot zones to choose from. I think we dropped a couple times but nothing too annoying. Site was level and all gravel but well maintained with small to medium trees and a picnic table, still it is a desert. Odd thing our power pole did not have a circuit breaker so had to plug in hot?? Overall the best value we have found so far in Vegas and would likely stay there again. $33 a night reflects AAA discount and tax. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I enjoyed my stay at this park. It is quite clean and quiet (with a caveat which I will get to momentarily) and the staff is friendly and helpful. I appreciated the full service restaurant and bar on the premises (with video poker which was a plus). Much of the premises is locked up like a fortress; the office was locked and you need to get "buzzed" in; there are locked gates to the RV park proper so each guest is given a remote to open it. (The restaurant and bar are outside the gates.) I was a bit alarmed when I first arrived as (unbeknownst to me) it is in close proximity to the air force base. The jets were coming in as I was arriving and setting up. While they were spectacular to look at, the noise was deafening. Fortunately, there was no more of that during my next two days there. However, I was away all day so cannot speak to what when on during that time. (But who is going to stay in the park while visiting Vegas?) Due to a leak in my loo, I needed to use the showers at the park and they were not only perfectly clean but attractive. The spot was level and it was easy to hook up utilities and unhook and "rehook" my tow vehicle, with the space long enough to accommodate both (my rig is 24 ft). The only fault I found was the layout of the park and the close proximity to the unit next door. When the park was full it looked like a parking lot. The roads are narrow and I had a bit of difficulty finding my spot - a few trips around the park to get the layout got me to the road to my spot. Small quibble, that. I would definitely stay here again, jets or no jets. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

A no frill park behind a small motel. Not the best neighborhood and many seasonal sites which are cluttered with outside "junk". Nice laundry and even had a computer in the laundry room for our use. Long pull thrus to accommodate our 43' rig and our tow. Because of the surrounding neighborhood and the jets from the air base we would look elsewhere in Vegas the next time. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

We"ve stayed here twice before and each stay was great. Spots are wide and since this is in southern Nevada the spots are zero scape for water conservation. Bathrooms and showers are always clean with plenty of hot water. The staff does a great job of keeping facilities clean. Yes, this is near Nellis AFB and the planes do fly over do to flight path. But this is not an all day event. Just a few times a day. Will always stay here when we visit Vegas. Lived in Vegas for 20 years before so we know the town and this is close to wife's family.. Very secure area with gated access We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

First the good things. Clean showers and nice pool. Gated for security. Wi-Fi was okay. 6 miles to the Strip and Fremont St. Rate based on month stay. $450.00 + $100 electric deposit + $25.00 remote deposit + $25.00 key deposit. Lots are wide but not long. We were able to park car beside coach. Coach is 41 feet long and we just fit. Near Nellis Air Force Base. The planes were cool to see for a couple days, then it became just awful noise. We were on the south side of park where most are long term or full time residents. Rules were not followed or enforced. Shabby sheds, stuff stored under trailers, full size refrigerator and inside type recliner sitting outside. Lots of motorcycles coming and going at all hours. One trip to pool was enough due to offensive language used constantly by long term residents. We're not prudes but it turned us off. No convenient grocery. Would not recommend for longer stays. If you stay request the north side of park as it seemed to be for short term stays. Won't be back. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Fantastic value. We stayed here 5 nights, perfect location for The Strip and downtown Vegas, also Red Rock NP and awesome Valley of Fire. Tarmac roads and large gravel sites. Good cable including the Golf Channel which you don't get in many parks these days. The best showers/restrooms that we have seen, very large laundry and as with restrooms very clean and neat. Gated for security. Pool, golf practice area. The Wi-Fi could be intermittent but great when working. We certainly recommend. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.
