This was a great park. I had reservations about the area but the security and staff made us feel very safe and very comfortable. Sites are not grassy but this is Las Vegas and so grass would be difficult to have. The bathrooms and the laundry were clean and very well maintained. No problem with the free Wi-Fi or with the cable television. There are some long term rigs here but they are well maintained. Thank you for the great stay (we planned on 1 night, stayed 4!). We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Travel Trailer.

We stopped here because it looked good on the website & it was on the north end of town, closer to the freeway north. We should of went with our gut feeling, when this seems to be in a very seedy part of town, & went elsewhere, but decided to give it a try. The office has to buzz you in after checking you out on a security camera at 2 in the afternoon. It is gated & can be fairly challenging getting in & out. Our space seemed to be in an area of older full time trailers with the exception of a couple. We're told that the special was prime rib & the brochure said they had a non smoking dining room. Decided to give it a try, since we didn't want to venture out into the neighborhood. Went to the restaurant. There was no dining room, only Pool tables. Asked the gal tending bar where we could eat. She said we could sit anywhere at the bar, if we didn't mind the cigarette smoke. Needless to say we didn't eat. Stopped by the office on our way back to the trailer & asked about the prime rib special &no smoking dining room. They said they should probably update their brochure. The traffic at the park seems to pick up between 2 & 3 am. Full timers going to & from work? Although the couple of people that worked there seemed nice enough, definitely did not have that secure feeling. Very pricy for the location. Went to another park the next day. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Found through Good Sam. Excellent park overall; friendly staff & managers. Well maintained & clean. We like quiet parks away from trains, planes, & automobiles. The only drawback was the jet noise from nearby Nellis Air Force base. If it weren't for that, we'd give it a 9 or 10 rating! We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

This is the 3rd year we have stayed a month or more, this year was 3 months. First of all when I call a park that I am going to stay at for a month, where I have to pay for the electricity, I ask if I have to pay the $2-$5 extra a day for my Down's Syndrome son, who is over 18. I am asking for an exception to the rule. This park is one of the few who look at every situation and make a decision. For the park itself, every year we have went back there has been a improvement made. This year a new dog area and dog wash. As for the noise a few complain about. Yes, Nellis Air Force Base is up the road and they do make some noise, but I have found it is usually going out in the morning and coming back in the evening. It only last a few minutes. To me it is like an air show, we go outside just to watch. I can give up a few minutes of quiet a day for them to practice. They may have to give up their live protecting this country and me, so who am I to complain? The rest of the time it is the quietest park we have stayed at in Las Vegas, we have stayed at 3 others, with a lot more noise. This is also a park that is truly gated with a mental gate, not someone in a booth. I feel very safe there. Very clean restrooms and laundry, complementary Wi-Fi,and a staff that is friendly. I am going to stop here because I don't want the park to be full next year and I can't get a site. This is my park of choice in Las Vegas. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here last February through May and stand by our comments that the laundry and restrooms are spotless and the pool was shiny clean. Haven't eaten at the restaurant yet this time, but the prime rib was delicious during our last stay. The lots are staggered which makes for fairly easy entrance and exit. BUT the Wi-Fi is NOT high speed (very slow and drops you every so often). The lots are only about 50' long which is great if you have a smaller camper but if you have anything longer than 35', you have to park sideways in front of your camper and that's not easy when everyone else is parked the same. Hard to sandwich yourself in between others. The lots are just wide enough for an RV with slides on either side and a picnic table. Space between bottom of steps and table: about 2 feet. I guess I'm just a bit spoiled with the long, wide lots in the campgrounds we've stayed in on the way here. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground with gated entry. The office will give you a remote for access so there is no difficulty at all entering the campground as another reviewer complained. We always camp here during the Nellis AFB airshow. Short drive to Las Vegas Motor Speedway where the Air Force buses will pick us up and transfer us to the airfield. Obviously this would be a good location to stay if one is going to the races as well. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here three times. It's close to Nellis AFB where we go for the air show every year. Nice wide spots, almost level, but all gravel. The park is very secure with a security gate and keys to the bathrooms. The bathrooms are all knotty pine, sparkling clean and big. There is a restaurant associated with this park where you can use your coupon for a free drink and eat good food. The reason I didn't give it a perfect rating is that the sites are all gravel and the location in north Las Vegas makes it noisy with traffic, sirens and boy-racers on the boulevard during the night. This is a good park--probably one of best 'values' in Las Vegas since the Silverton closed a few years ago. Yes, plane noise from Nellis, but can be tolerated. Good dog run facilities. VERY friendly, helpful staff. Great security in that they are gated. Will stay here again. Don't know why some people indicated in reviews they left as didn't feel safe. DEFINITELY safer than other parks on Boulder Highway that we've stayed in even though some of the sites were shorter than we like for our 41 foot rig and tow. Overall Rating:

Everything about this park is mediocre and dated. First, they keep the registration locked and have to buzz you in. Does that give a good feel about the area? It is a gated park so it is difficult to get a big rig in and out of the gates. Also, getting a big rig about the park is challenging. The sites are packed in. Some sites did have a picnic table, but not ours. They do have trees, but they make it more difficult to put out slides and turn corners. Then there is the military jet noise that is VERY loud at times. At least they stop in the evening, but they start up again at 8 AM. I think we will find a different RV park next time we are in LV. Based on the recent reports, we made a reservation; however, we were disappointed with the very old condition of the park, some run-down resident sites, and uncomfortable surrounding neighborhood. The staff was kind enough to refund our money and provide other RV park recommendations. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

We wanted a park to stay at on our way south along the I-15 and this place was pretty near perfect. Easy to reach, neat and clean with a friendly staff. The park isn't pretty but for one night it was just fine. There are some long term residents but their spaces aren't junky or decrepid. We will definitely stay here again. The attached restaurant served us a really good steak and clam chowder. Nothing to complain about there either. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

We stop here on our way from L.A. to the Utah/Arizona parks. Very comfortable, with clean restrooms, easy in/out and friendly staff. An excellent place to charge batteries, fill water tanks, etc. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Tent Trailer.

Don't be put off when going through the bad area to get to the RV park. The park is gated and they give you a remote control and a key to the bathroom. There are some long termers here but all were friendly. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a safe place in a big city. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Travel Trailer.

Photos of this RV Park must be from years and years ago as it is much more run down than those make it look. There are many long term units that are equally run down. It is not in a very good part of town and very close to the Air Force Base, which means there are LOUD jets overhead every so often. It is about 8 miles from the major Casinos, and they do give you a remote to enter the secured area where you park. Staff is nice, but sites are not as long as quoted. We have a 38' 5th Wheel pulled by a dually crew cab truck. We had trouble parking the truck in the same site. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older, but very well maintained, park. A lot of the sites seemed to be permanent residents or on extended stays. I was concerned by the noise of several fighter jets returning to their base at sunset, but didn't hear any after that or in the morning. Their security is excellent. The on-site Saloon & Steakhouse is under new management and not had their grand opening yet. I was a bit wary when I proved to be the only one in the dining room. Then, I was amazed to get a truly gourmet quality flatiron steak, one of the best I've ever had, for a grand total of about $15! We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Travel Trailer.
