The reason for a 6 is this is located right in the Las Vegas flight path and it is also in a very poor neighborhood for a 2o min radius. Felt safe in park as they are gated. Do to flight path probably won't sleep. Also very tight roads decided to leave toad unhooked to drive out. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Well, it's tight. Not the greatest neighborhood hence the gated park. Front door of the office is always locked but they have someone there 24 hours a day. It has a motel attached to it with not the best looking people checking in. Sites are gravel but pretty level. 50 amp service with no circuit breaker. Two trees at each site but we were able to get satellite. The park is at the end of the runway at Nellis which means lots of the sound of freedom (loud jets.) Would not stay here again if Nellis has a spot. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Main problems were sites too tight. Our slide and neighbors almost touched. Dog area was gross. Small, stinky space. Poop not all picked up. Noisy jets overhead scared my dog. Nowhere to walk. Laundry and pool were nice. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Entire park is dirt and small gravel. Sites are adequate length and width, but not much more. Mine had a medium sized tree in it that prevented me from putting out my awning and made exiting the site difficult. Utilities worked fine, including cable TV, and connections are located in the center of the site. Apparently this park was originally all 30 amp electric, but later 50 amp service was added to the post. However, it is the weirdest 50 amp connection I've ever encountered. It is at the bottom of the post at ground level - nearly impossible to connect. WIFI worked most of the time, but weak or dropped at times. Animals are not supposed to be left unattended, but management doesn't enforce. Rate is for weekly stay. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

It's Las Vegas - take your pick - but don't get in a hurry to get anywhere. Roads and traffic here are a mess.

Extra security. Everything was locked.

WIFI had strong WIFI signal but no internet access.

In extreme heat, power to coach was low and you couldn't run multiple air conditioners for a few days. This was a complaint of several other campers.

Attached restaurant was great. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

First the good things. Clean showers and nice pool. Gated for security. Wi-Fi was okay. 6 miles to the Strip and Fremont St. Rate based on month stay. $450.00 + $100 electric deposit + $25.00 remote deposit + $25.00 key deposit. Lots are wide but not long. We were able to park car beside coach. Coach is 41 feet long and we just fit. Near Nellis Air Force Base. The planes were cool to see for a couple days, then it became just awful noise. We were on the south side of park where most are long term or full time residents. Rules were not followed or enforced. Shabby sheds, stuff stored under trailers, full size refrigerator and inside type recliner sitting outside. Lots of motorcycles coming and going at all hours. One trip to pool was enough due to offensive language used constantly by long term residents. We're not prudes but it turned us off. No convenient grocery. Would not recommend for longer stays. If you stay request the north side of park as it seemed to be for short term stays. Won't be back. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

I had checked out the Website and it said the rate was $29.50 and they have a 10% Good Sam discount. When I checked in it was $33.26 Per night which included the GS discount and 12% tax. I questioned this and was told the website was wrong and they were unaware of it. This campground is fine if you are going to be inside your unit all day. Good WiFi and very good cable TV. Sites are small but adequate to pull in a 38' rig. There are really only about 6 sites for travelers as most sites are full timers. It is quiet (no barking dogs, and no kids either.) It is clean and they don't allow the full-timers to "clutter" up their site. Still it is in an area where there is graffiti on the stop signs and buildings. They keep the office door locked and you have to ring a bell, but you are behind a high security gate which requires a key or remote control to access or exit. It is a good ways from the strip. However, it is a good price for what you get, compared to the nicer, closer in parks. So you decide. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Hitchin' Post was fine for overnight and security. It is not in the best area of town but it was secure. Check-in was easy, staff was helpful and friendly. The sites and facilities were clean and cared for. Sites were level enough, tight but you are inside with the AC on anyway. Pet areas were average. The described steak house in front is a smoky bar. Food was very greasy. We will return to this park. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Paid the monthly rate. Power was $100 for a month, so a bit on the expensive side. Very nice office staff. Air Force base very close, so if you will be bothered by the noise of the jets, not a place to stay. We, however, loved the sound of them and it was nice to watch. Has two pet runs and a dog bath. Would stay here again. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Everything about this park is mediocre and dated. First, they keep the registration locked and have to buzz you in. Does that give a good feel about the area? It is a gated park so it is difficult to get a big rig in and out of the gates. Also, getting a big rig about the park is challenging. The sites are packed in. Some sites did have a picnic table, but not ours. They do have trees, but they make it more difficult to put out slides and turn corners. Then there is the military jet noise that is VERY loud at times. At least they stop in the evening, but they start up again at 8 AM. I think we will find a different RV park next time we are in LV. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Motorhome.

Photos of this RV Park must be from years and years ago as it is much more run down than those make it look. There are many long term units that are equally run down. It is not in a very good part of town and very close to the Air Force Base, which means there are LOUD jets overhead every so often. It is about 8 miles from the major Casinos, and they do give you a remote to enter the secured area where you park. Staff is nice, but sites are not as long as quoted. We have a 38' 5th Wheel pulled by a dually crew cab truck. We had trouble parking the truck in the same site. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Based on previous reviews our expectations were pretty low. The Nellis AFB park was full and we didn’t know anything about Sam’s Town and other RV Parks. Hitchin Post came up on Google first. We are usually State/National Park/US Forestry type RVers but that’s not why we visited Vegas. If you use this park for nothing more than hook-ups with S/W/E, WIFI, Cable and laundry then it is a perfectly fine park. The local area was pretty bad but we did not feel unsafe at all inside the park. The drive to the strip only took about 15 minutes. They put us close to other ‘nightly’ campers so we had some stand-off from the permanents. This helps when your neighbor is just like you. It is hard to rate this park since we didn’t visit for the scenery or the park itself. The staff were very friendly and answered every question we had. We would stay again but will likely try the Sam’s Town on Nellis BLVD or the KOA at Circus Circus for variety. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park & Motel in a Fifth Wheel.
