Love this campground especially in the boarder season. Kids back in school although location was still quite busy. Clean grounds and well maintained. This particular Park is part of our Thousand Trails Package(not Trails Collection) so the price is right. Everything worked as it should utility wise, T mobile was good both for cell and Data to stream Net Flix. Always a Great time here. - acampingfan
Aug 2019 - $75.00
Almost left due to poor front desk service which we never considered important before this experience. The maintenance guy saved our stay. Desk people tried to park our 37 ft. Motorhome in a 34 foot space. Lots of trees and lots of people. Kids have a lot of entertainment. Many kid activities including a park, movies, crafts and pool. Bathrooms were closed due to remodel. Difficult for big rigs to maneuver due to trees. No cell service for Verizon. No Wi-Fi. No satellite due to trees. All the right ingredients- movies, pool, activities, amenities- but, unfriendly check in. Luckily the guys on golf carts are helpful and kind. Trees are beautiful! - RV Mimi

This is a large Encore park with plenty of activities/amenities. There were lots of families and it can get a little busy during the day with lots of people out and about on bicycles, skateboards, etc., but all of our neighbors observed quiet hours. There is some nearby airport noise but it's minor. Nice and quiet in the evening. Park is pet friendly and there is a large fenced dog park on Loop G. The roads are well paved but narrow. The sites are soft dirt and leveling is somewhat challenging but not terrible. Some campers with larger rigs were not able to fully extend their awnings due to the trees but we did not have a problem. Try to avoid arriving after dark, as the site numbering system is a little chaotic and not visible after sunset. The picnic tables are old wooden tabletop/benches with cement bases. They are NOT comfortable or movable. It appears they are slowly replacing the older tables with aluminum frame tables that can be moved. Amenities vary by site, so I recommend pulling up the online park map and calling the reservation number directly. You cannot pick your spot online and I've seen some other reviews stating they didn't get what they thought they had reserved. By speaking with the representative directly, I was able to pick our space in advance. We reserved a spot in loop E and were quite happy with it. WiFi and LTE connectivity are definitely a problem here. Because this park is so large, I believe site location may be a reason for many mixed reviews. In Loop E, AT&T hot spot did not work at all. Verizon hot spot worked some of the time but was very slow and sometimes did not work at all. We purchased the park WiFi and had troubles immediately. We called the support desk number on the login page and they worked some magic on their end to get us connected. We camped here for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. We will return. - WM Guthrie

The park appears to be in the process of upgrading paving and concrete infrastructure. The asphalt roads in the park appeared to be brand new. Some of the concrete in the parking sites was recently redone as well. There were workers during the day in the park working on the concrete in some of the spaces. Also recently changed was the cable TV. A converter box is no longer required, and we verified the cable was working fine. We agree with other reviews that some, but not all, of the interior roads are narrow. We managed with a 32ft trailer, but the park was not full on the days we visited. And the parking spaces for the most part are two parallel concrete strips, with gravel in between. It works, but you are stepping out of your rig onto gravel in most cases. Didn't bother us. Only other unusual feature was the location of the hookups. In our space, the hookups were at the rear of the site. (but other sites we noted had them in the middle) Worked fine for TV, sewer, and electricity. Water was another matter. We had to put two 25 ft hoses together to reach on our rig, as we were about 3 ft short for using one hose alone. Only other item to mention is the park is right on US395, which has expected road noise. Our site was far enough way from the roadway that noise wasn't bothersome. Getting into the park is OK from either direction with dedicated turn lanes. Getting out can require patience for a break in traffic to leave as traffic is going 65 mph in front of the park. Exercise care if you want to make a left turn out of the park towing a trailer as there is no merge lane available. Overall, we had a good experience and will consider coming here again if in the area. - DFaucette

Rate is the weekly. This resort is now under new ownership and there are lots of big changes in progress, new pavement, new speed bumps, replacing most concrete site strips, workout room removed, pitch and putt removed, concrete patios being added. Check in was smooth and quick with escort to site. Sites are wide and are two concrete strips just wide enough for duel tires so lots of back and forth to get centered. Previous reviewers say large sharp gravel, I say large sharp rocks, very difficult to walk on and my dog refused to set foot on them. Picnic table was useless due to the sharp rocks. FHU's were at the very back so sewer extension was required, all worked well. Park was clean and well organized with large population of full timers in a different section. Dog park was tiny and all dirt. Lots to do around the area Carson City, Lake Tahoe etc. lots of western history in this area, lots of golf courses. Price was a bit steep due to the location near Tahoe. Next time I will stay a bit further out. - Tahoetom
Oct 2019 - $55.00
We've stayed in this park many times, but this will be our last. No discounts, too expensive and too many full timers. The hook ups were all in the back which was OK except for our sewer; you need a long hose. They are putting screen fencing up between the sites and trying to grow something for "privacy". Only seemed to make turning in/leaving the site more difficult. I think the park was recently sold. Too much money for what you get. We stayed in a park in Winnemucca and one in Caldwell; both were $10 cheaper and 10 times better. - Senior Camper

Had a pull thru but space was. Really too short. Was the largest offered still too short. Made it work only because park Had maybe 10 rigs. Pad has a big down slope on passenger side so could not level. Best choice is Plan on disconnecting.. Park needs some cleaning as a fair amount of trash. When arriving go to kiosk, call front desk, get space assignment, set up then go inside casino to pay. NOTE: Entry is at the left rear of the building you see from CG. - Bobcat1
Aug 2019 - $40.00
Checked in at Casino to get our site number. Drove to it-not even close to big enough for 24 ft trailer to back in, but had a 3 ft slope back to front. Site had a cement slab about 3 feet from the next identical slab. Returned to the office and received a refund. - julesverne

Nice park ... had a leaky water faucet and maintenance was there before I got back to my camper. Site was short so had to park our tow vehicle in the casino parking lot... was very close tho. Top notch clean bathrooms and laundry. Dog park is nasty... dirt and sand where the rest of the park had nice grass. - RMBRMB

I guess you could say this is a back to back to back review, not sure what I can add to what I've already posted but I have a couple things that caught my attention. Since last visit they have posted some specific RV rules which some of these are common sense and then some reminders . The RV sites were occupied by myself and another fifth wheel other than that that was pretty much it for the week. Given the fact it was so cold having 50 amp power was a plus we had to use plug-in electric heaters, when it gets down to single digits these thin walls just aren't enough to hold out the cold . We always try to take on something that's going on when visiting the Elks Friday night was a Bingo night so that's what we did Friday night . I would say this is probably one of the cleanest and most manicured Elks RV parking you will find it's too bad they do not have a dump station but maybe in the future who knows, but for the price you pay it works for me . - monaco cruiser
Aug 2018 - $17.00
I very seldom get to post back to back reviews specially when they're 9 to 11 months apart . But let me just say this, coming from Reno area where I had to pay at the Grand Sierra what I had to pay and resort fees it completely takes the fun out of what you're therefore, this lodge is a short term stay for anybody passing through yet it has 50 amp power it does have water if you need to fill your tank there is no dump, but remember it's just here for short term stay. For some reason the traffic wasn't as bad this time as the last time we visited not sure if the gravel/road repair yard across the street was not in full swing but it was more quiet , but I will say this you better have your nights sleep in by 7 o'clock in the morning because the traffic does get cranked up and it does get noisy. Another thing I noticed this time is there was more people here, the lodge said that the campground's five spots have been pretty much booked all summer . I will say this when you are backing into the spots make sure you have a good spotter the spots are kind of pie shaped and it is possible to get closer to your neighbor than you should be when backing in be careful. We definitely would stay here again . - monaco cruiser
Sep 2017 - $17.00
Very nice place to stay for elks members only . I agree with previous post the traffic on Kemmerling is getting more used during the daytime very very busy there seems to be a gravel yard across the street that trucks are continuously running from seven in the morning till 3 o'clock this goes on six days a week at least this was my observation how long this goes on through the year can't tell you . The RV parking is set up very nice we actually backed in with a 22 foot enclosed trailer the only thing the sprinklers washed the trailer early in the morning but that was OK we did not have to unhook. Electrical hook up was nice 50 amp was a plus specially if you were there in the summer time were you needed to run air believe me it would be hot, there is no trees to shade. We attended a breakfast at the lodge on Sunday was excellent very very good I would stay here again but definitely bring earplugs there is still some traffic noise at night if you can park away from the street as far as possible is a plus, motorhomes or trailers between you and the street might create a little bit of a buffer on noise. We camped here in a motorhome for members only . - monaco cruiser

Friendly and helpful staff, but.... Facility is poorly laid out with some sites difficult to get in and out of. Also most sites are not level. Some are close to level, many may need 3 to 5 boards on one side of the RV to get it level. Quiet, but close to most things. Sewer is up hill from RV. Power low at 113 Volts. Water pressure fine. Railroad museum is right down the street. Costco is close by. - Johnny xxxxx
Oct 2018 - $35.00
Sewer clogged while I was there. I understand, stuff like that happens. It was the way they dealt with it that was unacceptable. On site maintenance staff was not equipped to deal with it. Management had no authority to call in outside service, so it stayed clogged and leaking all over the ground for more than 12 hours. At first, the manager offered to replace my sewer hose, which was covered with sewage, later changed that tune. Woke up in the morning to find a jug of bleach and black plastic garbage bag at my site. Other sites in the problem area received the same. Their way of dealing with raw sewage at the sites, I guess. No compensation or discount was offered. I will not return. - Photography Vagabond
Aug 2018 - $42.00
I might have rated this campground a little too high according to some of my fellow RV'ers, but ratings are based on experience and I had a very good experience . First of all we're 65 foot long with the car trailer, the lady at the front desk was very very efficient got us in and out of there in no time we parked up the hill on an outside spot and are turning radius for getting out was probably the best you could expect in a park that is in some areas very tight. As far as cleanliness in this park has a lot of what I call work campers people that are staying here extended time not permanent but you're working in the area and leave early come in late and do their thing and the park is maintained very well you wouldn't know it and less you were aware that this was going on. Truthfully I had not been back to this park in over 25 years it has made some drastic improvements . Did not use the laundry room or the bathrooms but everything appeared from the outside very tidy and neat looking the asphalt was very clean it just had a well-kept appearance . I would stay here again if in the area I always used the gold dust when in the area but I would stay here instead. - monaco cruiser

We have stayed in other parks through the years but decided Zephyr Cove is our favorite. The cove is beautiful and at the end of parking lot dog beach. Most of the sites are paved and level except of course the one we were in 139. They remodeled the main showers that were previously gross. Happy to see that but laundry room is still a pit. They removed to washers and 2 dryers, there are only 3 each. 2 washers broken, for a while, the signs are curling up. The floor filthy looking and no change machine. While we were there they suddenly removed all cable channels from 33 up. Including HGTV, SYFY, FOOD, HISTORY TRAVEL, FREEFORM, CN, DISCOVERY, MTV, CMT, TELEMUNDO. Perhaps with the money they are saving they can fix washing machines??? - Ncogneeedo
Aug 2019 - $80.00
This park is the busiest and most expensive park we have ever visited. RV's crammed in everywhere. Highway noise all night long. The internet is worthless - it simply does not work and rarely will even let you log on. Talked to front desk and they said there were too many people - duhhh The lake and mountains are beautiful and some may like this place but it was not my cup of tea. - Felix Locum

The gold dust RV park is a small park but very accommodating you just have to be careful when you are leaving specially in the pool Throughs it's very tight . There's not a lot of parking for your tow vehicle so most people either park in front or in back this creates another problem making it tight for your neighbor to exit early in the morning without coming over and asking if you can move your vehicle . We did something a little different since we were going to be here a week we just took a back in and saved about $75 but the parking is just as bad if not worse . I can say this for the restrooms and laundry room it's probably the cleanest you'll fine very very clean they have their hotel people come over and clean it daily . As far as hook ups electrical and sewer very convenient . As far as convenient to town and the bypass loop you couldn't be in a better position noise level minimal . We would definitely can't. - monaco cruiser
Sep 2019 - $34.00
Good place to stop for a few days to see this area. Sites are close, but we managed. No grass for my fur babies. People are bad about picking up after their dogs...even in the dog run which we won't use! Roads are tight as well but we had no trouble getting our 40 foot coach in and out! Casino is within walking distance and the food was really good! - Jackie thornton

Stayed here 5 years ago and was happy, but now we have a bigger rig and found the parking for the pull vehicle is a tight. But over all still a nice place. Sand for the small dog area. Laundry is big with lots of machines and clean. Close to everything Carson City and area has to offer. - 1yearusa

This is a typical Federal campground with one big plus: it is right on Lake Tahoe with a very nice sandy beach. This campground underwent a major renovation last year with newly paved, expanded sites. Sites are reasonably level and have a fire ring, BBQ and large table. There is a two tier price system. Those sites closest to the lake, designated as “Lake” in Reserve America and Recreation.gov, are $34 per night. Those a little further away, designated “FORE” for forest, are $30 per night. Many of the forest sites have good views of the lake through the pines, however. There are a couple of good hiking/biking paths leading through the adjacent forest and meadows. Bathrooms have flush toilets but no showers are available. Good cell service. No Wi-Fi, although I picked up a signal from a near-by hotel that did not require a password but I was unable to connect. My air card worked fine. Because of the trees, satellite reception will depend on your site. The two campground hosts do an outstanding job of keeping everything clean and tidy. Ordinarily I do not give a dry camping campground higher than 8 stars but the location outweighs the even the lack of showers. - Arn

Nice clean park in north Carson City with asphalt roads and gravel spaces. Well kept and maintained. Staff is great. Quiet park. Wish the spaces were paved as the gravel is large coarse and rough to walk on. Hard on our old dog's feet. Great value. We stayed in our 40' Monaco pusher. - subiedude

April29 Camp-N-Town, Carson City, Nevada 147 plus sites, $37.96 with Good Sam This campground is located on Carson Street in Carson City, Nevada. There are a lot of sites here and many of them look like permanent sites. The sites are average and most seem to be pull throughs with full hookups and cable (cable has just been changed and now you need a box). The woman at checkin was really nice. The bathhouse was clean and the showers were nice but you need to leave $5 for a deposit to use them and when you return the key you get your money back. What this campground has going for it is that it is in town near the historic district. We walked down about a mile to the Capitol and it's grounds. Nice Capitol and surrounding buildings. The campground was very quiet considering all the RV's camping here. - gsnakehill
Oct 2016 - $38.00
This is your typical urban RV park: close sites, parking-lot style, with about half full-timers. The facilities are fine and (very) close to shopping. All that is tolerable because one does not come to places like this for the ambience; one comes into places like this when I need to get business accomplished. So one of the things I look for is WiFi. They advertise this, take your money, even give you a password. But the signal is nonexistent--not strong enough to hold onto. When I asked for another site that had better reception, I was told the signal and equipment were iffy. When asked for a refund, so I could leave and go to a park that had signal, I was refused.

The sites we had were HUGE, which was fantastic for our 44' and TOAD. Our friends had a 39' 5th and we all had plenty of room even the sites are directly adjacent to each other. The roads are EXTREMELY DUSTY, and despite tip-toeing at idle, we kicked up a dust-storm. We also managed to get a TON of pollen this trip. The lakeside road is really noisy, and this takes away from the beauty of being in the pines. The great part, is we were very close to the lake. The bad experience we had, was that a group of kids were allowed to occupy a couple of the sites right in front of us. They were over the occupancy limit, which we all didn't have a problem with. However, they were so large, that they spilled out onto the road in front of our rigs to play ball, screaming on a play-toy megaphone (with siren), and...the bad part was the continual dropping of the F-Bomb. Despite several families telling them to quit, they continued..especially when the drinking started. A poor couple tent camping next to them had to get up in the middle of the night and go to the store to by earplugs so they could sleep. All this said, is only to bring up the point that Hosts need to be more interactive, and attentive. After all, it's a "city" park at $44/night, so you'd expect them to have enough staffing to do what other Hosts do...patrol and keep order for everyone's enjoyment. The access is ok once you get past the gatehouse, which oddly enough has such a tight turn that you'll almost clip a pine tree or two upon entry. - CaptainGizmo
Jun 2019 - $46.00
I like this place, but it has a few issues. First, the bathrooms & showers need to be renovated & expanded, and they will be shutting down this September to do that very thing. Next year should be much better. Once that is done, I would likely give them a 8-9 rating. Also, they claim that water is shared between sites, but there was no water faucet anywhere near our site. We would have had to string two hoses together to reach one. We just used our internal supply. There's no sewer system, but the dump is easily accessable on the way out. Now, having said all that, it's a very pleasant setting. The sites are large, the trees are large, and the ground is covered by a bed of pine needles. Very large rigs need to be careful, as the lanes are sometimes bounded by trees on both sides of the road. We were here 2 nights, and would return without hesitation. - J Mike G
Sep 2018 - $45.00
Stayed as a stopover on a longer trip. Was in loop B and put the TT in the wrong spot as the site markings are not clear. When I asked staff they showed me that my spot was huge and I put the TT in the worst place. They should fix this. Water spigot is shared with your next door neighbor, not a big issue if they are friendly. Sites are dirt and there are no sewer hook-ups but dump station is easy to use. Some sites are a challenge, especially if you have to back in with a trailer. City internet works sporadically, can't download big files. Site itself was fairly level, picnic table, fire pit and plenty of room for parking (in this site). Noise from hi-way 50 is constant but not intrusive until the motor-cycle riders come speeding by. We would stay again. - travelingjw
