Overall Rating:

The RV sites are located at the front and west side of a series of rental accommodations of various types and sizes. Roads, sites, driveways are all gravel and very dusty when the wind blows. Full hook ups at all sites; the water was just being turned back on when we were there mid-April. Site rates vary based on number of nights, if you've stayed before, and other factors. It can be complicated; just ask. Staff is very nice and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and things to do in town. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

For geocachers, this is a good stay for completing the north and west sections of the ET Trail. Lots of other caches in the area as well. The Chinese restaurant in the Banc Club, 360 N. Main St., has new owners and was very tasty. The BBQ at Tonopah Brewing Company, 315 S Main was also quite good.

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from the state highway, all gravel lot, rental mobile homes, crew quarters, barracks and a line of RV sites, all pull through. Utilities are well located and easy to reach. Fuel here is a little high but there isn't anything else within 100 miles. Check-in was an education. Our original reservation was for two nights, called back and changed to one night stay. When we arrived we were told the daily rate for a single night for a first time visitor is $33. If staying more than one night the daily rate is considerably less. If you have been here before there is another discount. "There are no other discounts available." There are weekly and monthly discounts. The pricing system is ridiculous. This is a dirt and rock lot with RV hook-ups sticking up out of the ground, all in a row. For a short lay-over okay. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

REBEL fuel station is closed, disregard the sign on the highway directing you up the hill and through the glen. Three or four?? stations in town, all the same price. Chevron is about the handiest.

Be careful not to miss this driving through town as the sign is very hard to read. As others have said wide open spaces and everything worked great. Especially the wifi which was a huge surprise - worked better than some in parks that cost a lot more. Water was an issue but we had some bottled water and used the park showers/toilet. It's right on the highway but noise wasn't a problem. Great for an overnight stay between Reno & Vegas. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Decided on this park after reading the other reviews about large sites, wifi, cable, etc. I did note that one review mentioned no water due to low nighttime temperatures, but that was November and I was here in April. Well, apparently management doesn't turn on water to the nightly spaces until there is NO CHANCE the temperature will go below freezing. So, no water in April either. Was not told when I made the reservation there might be no water. Upon check-in, did they tell you about the water? Um, no. They have a fresh water fill station (which apparently isn't subject to freezing?) So this is not a full hook-up RV park. At least not for about half the year. The long term spaces all had water hooked up with insulated/heated hoses, only the overnight spaces are without water. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

As other reviewers have noted, this is a small RV park - 18 sites - located along Highway 6/95 at the west end of town. All sites are gravel, pull through, and long enough that most rigs will not have to unhook. There is some road noise, but not intrusive. This time of year, night temperatures are below freezing and water is shut off to all sites; they will turn it back on for individual sites if you have an insulated water line. Laundry, private showers, and restrooms are available; door code is provided at check-in. Three WiFi stations provide free internet. We used our Verizon MiFi which had a strong signal. A small book exchange is located in the office area. The end site (#18) has a picnic table in the garden area on the left side. We will stay here again when passing through the area. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Whitney's Bookshelf, 130 S. Main, has a variety of used books in all subjects, including local history and geology. Paperback fiction books are $1.00. This old bookstore is a must stop if you enjoy browsing the shelves. Also, this is a good base for geocachers looking to complete the west end of the ET Highway power trail as well as other power trails in the area.

Plenty of room to maneuver. The RV sites are in a wide open area in front of the motel units. Plenty of room to unhook or not. We have leveling system, but we did not need it. Good cable TV (Vegas stations). The two lane highway is nearby, but the sites are set back from the highway. Office staff welcoming. We would return. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small park along US-6/95 associated with a motel on the outskirts of Tonopah, Nevada, with several full hookup pull-thrus. This park makes a decent overnight stop while heading across Nevada. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Motorhome.

This park is located next to the highway and there are no trees, fence, or other structures to block the highway noise. But, the highway noise was not bad and did not interfere with a good night's sleep. Staff was very nice and helpful. The site is all gravel. The Verizon service was very good. I will definitely return to this campground when I am in the area. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Motorhome.

Basically a quick stop for us as we traveled through. The park is in front of a motel and most of the people staying are working in the area. It's located at the north end of town as you begin your decent. Watch how you come in and leave as there are a couple of steep driveway areas. The sites aren't all that level and most of the sewer hookups were uphill so sewer dumping was a challenge. Noise from the road was pretty bad and you have zero buffer. Falling asleep was a little difficult because the moment we'd start to drift off, a truck would go by and the noise would the jake brake would startle us awake. We solved that by turning on the TV for background 'white noise' and had no other difficulties. Not the best place we stayed in and not the worst. We'll probably stop here again on our way through. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Fifth Wheel.

This is about the best RV park on this stretch of Highway 95 between Reno and Las Vegas. It's really nothing more than a gravel/dirt parking lot with hook ups. There is plenty of room between sites and each has a picnic table. There is certainly road noise as the park is right on the highway - but it didn't bother us at all. An adequate place for an overnight on your way through town. We camped at Tonopah RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Tonapah is a historic mining town. We didn't have time, but there is a tour of an old gold mine which would be interesting. Apparently, they have a mining competition and some kind of festival sometime during the year, but not when we were there. We would stay there again if we had to be in the area. Pretty desolate area.
