We stayed for one month. Camping area was grassy; had electric, water, sewer. Internet service; no cable. Staff and other campers friendly. Pay showers, key for restroom. Nice beach and lake. Close to many attractions in N.H., Maine, Massachusetts. - pamMJR
Jun 2014 - $38.00
Clean Beach, beautiful little lake and swimming area. Picnic and grilling area right on the beach. Gated entrance for security, lots of seasonal folks who are very nice to weekend campers. Owners are very nice and helpful. Close to other NH attractions. - clundberg99
Jul 2008 - $40.00
Older campground with only about 14 Camper sites and 7 tent sites. The rest are seasonals. The pond was big and had a nice beach that was open to the public. The staff seemed like they were just doing their job. Our site was cramped for our 30' travel trailer. They could have spaced the campers apart better that were their this weekend. We were put between two campers that new each other and would cut thru our site, even under our awning. There were empty sites available. This campground is very close to Canobie Lake Amusement Park which is were we spent our Saturday. This is one reason I would go back there again, but that's it. - B. P. Donelan

Owners were very nice, but: - They could have told us the road was closed because of roadworks. We did not see a sign saying it was open for access. We learned this when we spoke to the police officer at the other end 0f a long, hair-raising detour through narrow, twisting and poorly lit back roads, which added half an hour and several miles to our journey. - The access road just inside the park is in urgent need of repair. It's very bumpy. - There may be lead in the fresh water. However, gallon jugs of spring water are available free at the office. - Unbelievably, there is no store on-site and it's a fair walk to the nearest convenience store. How difficult would it be to install vending machines at least? Fortunately we were well stocked up. - There were a lot of carelessly parked cars, making the narrow roads even more difficult to negotiate. - Our plot was tiny and we needed assistance to back in. There was an eight-foot plunge just behind our vehicle. We will not be returning. - AlisonS
Jul 2017 - $30.00
The host was the friendliest host that we have met in our short time of camping. Most of the people here are seasonal but that didn't keep them from being friendly. This place is very very clean. I would stay here anytime I am in the area. - Aaron Brown
Mar 2017 - $42.00
Diane is great! Very helpful and accommodating. The campgrounds are clean. The roads are unpaved and a bit narrow but room for a big rig. Nice pool and a great new pavilion. There are mostly seasonals but there are 5th wheels, and MH's as well. Quiet setting and good value. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a clean campground with nice people and a great value, you won't be disappointed. - JaPA

Very wooded park, good roads and level sites. Boat launch available and fresh water pond on property with beach. If you want cable TV, you need to borrow a converter box (Xfinity) with a $25 refundable deposit. No OTA signal to speak of. No WiFi but good Verizon cell coverage. Mostly seasonals in travel trailers and park models and a handful of transient sites. Try to get in the sites numbered 25-29.
We stayed here to visit the grand kids who live nearby. They came to visit for a day and we sat on the beach then had dinner. Visitors pay $5 per adult and $4 per kid under 14. I thought this was a little steep. The beach wasn't all that good.
We decided we'd go back again but we'd try to get the sites on the edge by the beach (25-29). These were more secluded and in better shape. - jplante4

This campground was purchased by new owners maybe a couple of years ago. Nice couple. Sites are okay, nothing fancy. Lot of seasonals. You cannot use your own washer/dryer due to their septic system. Do have washers/dryers on site. Nice pool but we didn't use it. No cable but we were able to use our satellite. Before booking, ask about your site since there are quite a few trees. Quiet overall. - Lover of Cairns
May 2017 - $50.00
New owners here are very nice and friendly. Campground is very quiet this time of year. There are train tracks nearby but this did not bother us, we love hearing trains. Sites are large. Many sites are seasonal and campers were all working on cleaning up the sites or adding decks etc. Pool looked nice and the owners were busy getting the place ready for the season. All the hook ups were great and modern. Bathhouse was older but very clean. - Happy Camper X2

OMG! DO NOT STAY HERE! I'm not impressed with the poor customer service. We were given a site for a 28' trailer that we could barely fit on with weeds up to our knees! Not even trimmed before we arrived and no fire pit! I wasn't going to do a review until we were hassled to go to the office to pay $6 for a day guest!! We understand rules, but it's the way it was enforced! Go elsewhere this place is a waste of money!! - Kbella
Jul 2018 - $30.00
If you're not a long term resident, or here to play golf (9 hole par 3), this is not a great park. Even then I wouldn't rate it very high. The roads and sites are very tight with tree limbs that should have been trimmed long ago. They made a big deal in the 'rules' about not trimming limbs since they will do that, but obviously they don't. Our site had a speed limit sign that was poorly placed right next to it. Even though the overall site was a decent size & level, all of the trees made it feel very closed in. The fire pit was an old washing machine tub and not really usable. We did manage to find a hole between the trees to receive Dish satellite but I wouldn't count on it elsewhere. There was NO CELL OR WIFI reception. The original part of the park is not designed for big rigs, but there is a new expanded area which is much larger and better laid out....unfortunately they didn't put us in there. The train in the distance was not too noticeable. Since there aren't really any amenities, we thought the place was not a good value. - Hands For Him
Jun 2017 - $40.00
I really liked this park. Super friendly and helpful staff. The golf course will challenge any golfer Tight course which rewards straight shots. Greens are fast and true. Be sure to make a reservation if arriving in a motorhome . - Dave Kain

The pretty blue-color pond shown on their website is actually a vegetation infested pond and we were cautioned not to swim in it, not that we would be interested from the appearance anyway. There are many full-time seasonal campers, many very old trailers and areas surrounding are unkempt. We were in A01, across from the pool where loud music was played all day, and our site was surrounded by three-dirt roads heavily trafficked by golf carts and vehicles which made a constant dirt cloud surrounding our site. It was Labor Day weekend, but we made our reservations 2 1/2 months prior to our visit and were told this was the only site available, probably because of the numerous full-timer/seasonal sites. We have stayed in many campgrounds and some better than others, but this truly was a big disappointment and honestly misleading from their website and Park Reviews. Their new Camp Store is nice and the Camp Registration, Camp Staff are friendly and helpful. There were lots of kids and games scheduled for the kids. It was a surprise to us that it is listed as an Encore Thousand Trails RV Resort, as most of those we've seen are much nicer. We would not recommend this campground and will not be staying here again. - Bill & Karen Smith
Apr 2018 - $90.00
MH in shop. Rented one to be picked up. Overnite here in a cabin. Very nice, deck, fire-pit. cable TV, queen bed, all utensils, stove, coffee pot. Very comfortable. They had "little homes" but not available during our stay. Will be back with our MH> - Long Island Mac
Sep 2017 - $90.00
We stayed in a cabin for one nite, as our motor home was in the shop. The cabin was really very nice. Kitchen with all things needed, fridge, stove. sitting area with cable TV (a lot of channels). Bedroom and full bath. Deck around with Gas BBQ, and a fire pit. Never stayed in a cabin before, but this exceeded our expectations. If needed, would stay in the cabin again. There were building "tiny homes", which we didn't check out. Plenty of RV sites as we drove around the camp. - Long Island Mac

We are 8 that camp together. I liked this place very much and would go back. The only thing is, people drive fast through out the campground. They don't bother you about putting your fire out at a certain time. You can have fun and enjoy yourself without being bothered by all the strict rules. One couple in our party did not like that M80's went off at 9:30pm about 3 times during the weekend because it upset their dog. But I enjoy it. We are all 50+ They have paved roads sites are a good size and level. - meister
May 2017 - $70.00
In our numerous years of camping,This is by far the worst campground we have ever been to. This is not a family campground this is nothing but a party zone. There is absolutely no regulations or security in this campground. People speeding around in cars or golf carts(some drunk, also children) radios blasting, there is no regard to pedestrians and their safty. People yelling and partying until 3:30 in the morning with no regards to children on the next site over trying to sleep. Calling security was a joke, only get a message mail box is full, could not leave a message. The people next to my sister, playing with lighter fluid in the fire, also smoking so much pot that my sister and her young children along with my pregnant niece and her 10 month daughter could smell it in their tent trailer. Again calling security was a joke, got the same message. There were also broke bottles from people drunk and tossing their bottles off the golf carts. These broken bottles were there from Friday until we left on Monday Memorial Day. This is definitely NOT a family campground. There is no "quiet time" as specified. No wifi and no cable. We would never return to this campground! The only good thing is they do have clean restrooms and showers and the site was big and level. - Fletcher_11

Oct 2016 - $37.00
This campground is in a wooded area with lots of trees immediately off the roads on both sides of the winding roads to get to your campsite. Although the park advertises it has big rig access, this is a lie. The trees are so close to the winding road that big rigs cannot make it through without hitting some trees. I damage a window awning. It also only has 30 amp electrical hookups and not 50. I will not be back with my 40 foot motorhome. - F_Jecks

Calef Lake was the first camp ground my family (2 adults, 4 kids) went to after purchasing our Travel Trailer. It was close to home and for that reason we figured it was a good place to try out camping. The people there are very friendly, both the staff and long term campers. The camp ground was very clean, with the site being raked down prior to our arrival. The second time we went, they put wild flowers in a plastic vase out on the fire pit. The beach is raked down daily and it is a nice sloping grade for young kids, with a dock the older kids like to play on. There were a lot of other kids on the camp grounds, giving a mix ages. The camp ground got really quiet at or just after 10pm. For services, the water pressure was good, we didn't have any problems with the electrical or sewer. There is a second pond for fishing, however be prepared to loose a lot of hooks as there are a lot of trees in the water. The overall camp ground is small but quaint. The kids enjoyed bike riding everyday. The camp ground is small enough that they passed the camp site every few minutes making it easier to keep track of them. The dumpers, while are on the way to the beach tend to fill up quick and have a foal odor in the immediate area. The roads can be tight to maneuver larger trailers through the park. All in all, my family really enjoyed the camp ground, and we plan on making regular trips back in the years to come. - NHChris

This was by far the worst campground we have stayed in. We booked for month of a July and were assured we would have a 50 amp site. On arrival we found that they had not updated the electrical as planned. The dirt roads had pot holes so large they could swallow your vehicle. The owner had all the equipment necessary to repair but never did. It was so bad it was torture to come and go from campground. Trash around campsites and dumpsters made the place look unkempt and was never picked up. Sites were not level and collected rain water causing mosquitoes to be unbearable. We ended up leaving early it was so bad. - Angela_Remi

Pot holes everywhere, no restaraunt, showers out of order, urinal didnt flush, not worth the money, great for over night but any longer forget it! No cable, when they say limited wifi they mean it. Not very well maintained or clean! Was told when making reservations wifi was being upgraded .. not inthe area we were in! - Camper6772
Jul 2017 - $15.00
Disgusting trash bins on the way in, how easy would it be to section them off with a gate to hide the garbage. First impressions are everything! A vast amount of uncontrolled poison ivy everywhere. This pool should be condemned to the public as there was hair/bandaids/bugs floating in it and the water was green and cloudy. The pillow pad is never open. The river is to shallow to canoe in. The playground needs serious updating, and the so called "arcade" is in the dark and hot attic above the store. The bathrooms were dirty, there was no soap in the dispensers and there was only 1 stall with toilet paper. The showers did not work. The activities listed on the sheet that my grandchildren were very excited for, sadly very few occurred. The appearances of the workers is very unprofessional with cigarettes hanging out of their mouths with stains and holes all over their clothes. The location of the park was wonderful, but the park itself is rundown, poorly managed, and extremely understaffed. Many children in the pool were unsupervised and rules do not apply to everybody as far as speed limits, bike helmets, quiet hours, and road directions on one way streets. - tb279358

We went in with high hopes but our bubble was quickly popped. The owner was nice and she helped where she could but there was a lost reservation so check-in took a while. The pool had clear water but the sides and the bottom were very dirty or stained or something, cleaning or painting is needed. The sites were it rough shape as far as them being neat and clean and level. The utilities were fine but the sites needed grading, brush cleared and probably a number of trees removed. Many of the seasonal sites were cluttered and spilling over into neighboring sites. There was a nice entry road and the playground looked nice but that was about it. We were hoping to find a gem close to home and close to the beach but that did not happen. Maybe with a lot of TLC this could be better but to be real good a re-design of some of the sites would be needed. - Happy Camper X2
Jul 2017 - $40.00
Staying in a tent is uncomfortable enough! Without the creepy landscaper coming around to see if your "alright dear ". The campsite was full of roots , very hard to set up a tent. The campground is old and run down with no sign of fixing it. The bathroom lady was very nice and tried hard to keep it clean. But we won't stay here again !! The pool is falling apart, nothing for kids or adults to do, too many old people. The owner is a crabby lady and mean. Hire someone else to do the work around the campground!! - Campground star
