This campground was purchased by new owners maybe a couple of years ago. Nice couple. Sites are okay, nothing fancy. Lot of seasonals. You cannot use your own washer/dryer due to their septic system. Do have washers/dryers on site. Nice pool but we didn't use it. No cable but we were able to use our satellite. Before booking, ask about your site since there are quite a few trees. Quiet overall. - Lover of Cairns
May 2017 - $50.00
New owners here are very nice and friendly. Campground is very quiet this time of year. There are train tracks nearby but this did not bother us, we love hearing trains. Sites are large. Many sites are seasonal and campers were all working on cleaning up the sites or adding decks etc. Pool looked nice and the owners were busy getting the place ready for the season. All the hook ups were great and modern. Bathhouse was older but very clean. - Happy Camper X2
Aug 2015 - $40.00
Very wooded park, good roads and level sites. Boat launch available and fresh water pond on property with beach. If you want cable TV, you need to borrow a converter box (Xfinity) with a $25 refundable deposit. No OTA signal to speak of. No WiFi but good Verizon cell coverage. Mostly seasonals in travel trailers and park models and a handful of transient sites. Try to get in the sites numbered 25-29.
We stayed here to visit the grand kids who live nearby. They came to visit for a day and we sat on the beach then had dinner. Visitors pay $5 per adult and $4 per kid under 14. I thought this was a little steep. The beach wasn't all that good.
We decided we'd go back again but we'd try to get the sites on the edge by the beach (25-29). These were more secluded and in better shape. - jplante4
Jul 2019 - $50.00
We reserved a site here without checking the reviews. We usually do for hotels and other things. It was a last minute decision and we booked it in haste in fear of not being able to find a campground in the region. Bad decision. I wish I could say nices things, but it is hard. We liked that the campground was wooded and the location of our site. Our site was spacious enough. Other sites seemed much tighter and other areas much more crowded. We stayed for 6 days (too many). Everything others said is true. Not well kept, dirty facility, dirty dump station, garbage bin overloaded at the entrance next to an abandonned camper, wifi almost non existant, no cable tv (even though they left the cables hanging on the site. The river is muddy, narrow (almost like a brook in some areas), shallow and messy, we had brought our kayaks - only went out once... I think they are still dirty even after many wash. They promote that they rent canoes and bikes... haven't seen the bikes and the canoes must be from 1975. We didn't try the pool - given the condition of everything else, we figured it was not worth trying. Washrooms were not really clean - and ever heard of toilet paper holder that actually spin? Pay showers - we didn't use, pretty disgusting looking - we decided that short showers in our camper was the way to go here. Many seasonal campers (I really wonder why) form a little community here. Some of the trailers have been there for years and haven't been washed since. Very noisy over the weekend with people playing loud music, kids shouting and parents also shouting and swearing. This could be a nice place, but the owners don't seem to care much. They'll take your money and that's it - and it was expensive too. We didn't get a weekly rate, nor a 7th day free as advertized. Almost 400 CAD. Will never return. Walmart parking lots are much nicer and cleaner. - Teddy Pooh
Jul 2018 - $35.00
This was by far the worst campground we have stayed in. We booked for month of a July and were assured we would have a 50 amp site. On arrival we found that they had not updated the electrical as planned. The dirt roads had pot holes so large they could swallow your vehicle. The owner had all the equipment necessary to repair but never did. It was so bad it was torture to come and go from campground. Trash around campsites and dumpsters made the place look unkempt and was never picked up. Sites were not level and collected rain water causing mosquitoes to be unbearable. We ended up leaving early it was so bad. - Angela_Remi
Aug 2017 - $60.00
Pot holes everywhere, no restaraunt, showers out of order, urinal didnt flush, not worth the money, great for over night but any longer forget it! No cable, when they say limited wifi they mean it. Not very well maintained or clean! Was told when making reservations wifi was being upgraded .. not inthe area we were in! - Camper6772
Aug 2017 - $50.00
We went in with high hopes but our bubble was quickly popped. The owner was nice and she helped where she could but there was a lost reservation so check-in took a while. The pool had clear water but the sides and the bottom were very dirty or stained or something, cleaning or painting is needed. The sites were it rough shape as far as them being neat and clean and level. The utilities were fine but the sites needed grading, brush cleared and probably a number of trees removed. Many of the seasonal sites were cluttered and spilling over into neighboring sites. There was a nice entry road and the playground looked nice but that was about it. We were hoping to find a gem close to home and close to the beach but that did not happen. Maybe with a lot of TLC this could be better but to be real good a re-design of some of the sites would be needed. - Happy Camper X2
Jul 2017 - $40.00
Staying in a tent is uncomfortable enough! Without the creepy landscaper coming around to see if your "alright dear ". The campsite was full of roots , very hard to set up a tent. The campground is old and run down with no sign of fixing it. The bathroom lady was very nice and tried hard to keep it clean. But we won't stay here again !! The pool is falling apart, nothing for kids or adults to do, too many old people. The owner is a crabby lady and mean. Hire someone else to do the work around the campground!! - Campground star
Jul 2019 - $44.00
This is not one of your fancier parks, which was fine for us. There's mainly seasonal folks there. But they and the owners made us feel very welcome. They have a nice pool and very nice covered pavillion area where the owners provided a free breakfast on July 4th and an awesome potluck on the 6th along with a great fireworks shows. The owners couldn't do enough for you. The bathrooms aren't much. But overall it was a great place to stay, close to anything you would need. If in the area we would definitely stay there again. - Foochyfi
May 2019 - $44.00
STAY SOME WHERE ELSE is my best advice. The Brook as they call it looks like a running sewer. The grass is so tall you can't get anywhere where close to the edge. Snakes in the high grass, WET all the time. You can see into the back bathrooms thru the outside boards. They tell you you have to MOW the parks grass around your site. Just let a rock hit someone and see who gets sued -YOU. The new owners are very hateful to people. There are slabs of sharp concrete in the walking path to the sewer brook. - joecampers
Aug 2017 - $42.00
Owners were very nice, but: - They could have told us the road was closed because of roadworks. We did not see a sign saying it was open for access. We learned this when we spoke to the police officer at the other end 0f a long, hair-raising detour through narrow, twisting and poorly lit back roads, which added half an hour and several miles to our journey. - The access road just inside the park is in urgent need of repair. It's very bumpy. - There may be lead in the fresh water. However, gallon jugs of spring water are available free at the office. - Unbelievably, there is no store on-site and it's a fair walk to the nearest convenience store. How difficult would it be to install vending machines at least? Fortunately we were well stocked up. - There were a lot of carelessly parked cars, making the narrow roads even more difficult to negotiate. - Our plot was tiny and we needed assistance to back in. There was an eight-foot plunge just behind our vehicle. We will not be returning. - AlisonS
Aug 2019 - $71.00
Stayed here a few times in the past but this was our first time in our new trailer! Absolutely love this campground and would highly recommend paying them a visit. Great place for a seasonal stay! Lots to do close by. Bring your own kayaks! The pond is beautiful specially when the lily pads are flowering. They DO NOT rent golf carts - Highly recommend bikes but very doable to walk to where you need to go. Lots of seasonal families that have been going there for years! - NHN2PUPS
Jul 2019 - $55.00
Beware when making a reservation at this campground using the Passport America program. They will only give you the discount if you book through Passport America. Which we did. But when we arrived at campground the front office informed us that corporate Passport America doesn't communicate very well with the campground, therefore they only had us booked for 4 nights versus the 14 days we requested. This was over the 4th of July period so we had booked months in advance to make sure we had a spot. We eventually were able to stay for the entire 14 days but it was quite the hassle. The campground is basically built in a swamp so the flies and mosquitoes are fierce. The dumpsters were extremely far from the campground and were only accessible by car which is very inconvenient. There were lots of activities for children and two nice pools. There are mostly seasonal campers here but on the whole they were friendly. We would not stay here again due to the whole booking hassle and the bugs. The roads need some serious work as there were many, many unavoidable potholes. - lesinga
Aug 2018 - $64.00
The pretty blue-color pond shown on their website is actually a vegetation infested pond and we were cautioned not to swim in it, not that we would be interested from the appearance anyway. There are many full-time seasonal campers, many very old trailers and areas surrounding are unkempt. We were in A01, across from the pool where loud music was played all day, and our site was surrounded by three-dirt roads heavily trafficked by golf carts and vehicles which made a constant dirt cloud surrounding our site. It was Labor Day weekend, but we made our reservations 2 1/2 months prior to our visit and were told this was the only site available, probably because of the numerous full-timer/seasonal sites. We have stayed in many campgrounds and some better than others, but this truly was a big disappointment and honestly misleading from their website and Park Reviews. Their new Camp Store is nice and the Camp Registration, Camp Staff are friendly and helpful. There were lots of kids and games scheduled for the kids. It was a surprise to us that it is listed as an Encore Thousand Trails RV Resort, as most of those we've seen are much nicer. We would not recommend this campground and will not be staying here again. - Bill and Karen Smith
Aug 2019 - $52.00
Great park! Great place for kids, with all the activities and amenities.
Sites are very large. Only complaint would be lack of a pool. Reminds me of resorts and campgrounds from my childhood. - Fran_Dawn
Jul 2019 - $57.00
Great location in New Hampshire. Easy to get too. the campground was well laid out, its about 1 mile in from the entry way and office. Nice country store, small put put golf. Nice walking trails. grand kids loved it, great site with spacious fire ring. very comfortable location, and campground. site was big enough from our 44' MH, roads we at time tight but maneuverable. we would defiantly stay here again. - Chief55M
Jul 2019 - $52.00
50 amp, FHU pull-through site. This campground has over 400 sites and most of them are seasonal. Park is well maintained, heavily forested and has many amenities. We asked for a basic W&E site since we were only spending one night here but nothing was available. At these prices (prevalent throughout the northeast) you would expect WIFI and cable TV but not here. Several OTA TV signals were available. We would not return, the prices are too high. Interior roads could use better markings and if you should happen upon anyone else there would not be room for both vehicles. - Bob & Stephanie
Sep 2017 - $40.00
If rated on customer service, this place would be a 10. Sadly, this park is in the process of being sold to developers. It is a convenient park but not designed for larger rigs. Watch out for low wires. - Charisma1965
Aug 2015 - $45.00
Not a campground by any means, more like a trailer park. No teen activities little to no activities for younger kids or any activities are put on by other campers/residents Campground employees are quick to Yell at you for going to fast yet they pass you on their 4 wheelers, that's another thing. 4 wheelers are constantly going all over the campground like its a ATV park. Yet they are not allowed unless you're part of the click. One of the owners is more than happy to tell you it's quite time while roaring around the camp at midnight waking my kids with the sound of his 4 wheeler.
The public restrooms are a filthy outdated mess. WiFi only at the office with no place to sit or any privacy. With so many campgrounds out their I will never bring my family there again.
Don't waste your money. - Happy sober camper
Jun 2015 - $45.00
Horrible experience! When i called to reserve a two week spot, the woman on the phone took a five day payment. Upon arriving at the office to check in, we were told that our chosen site had been taken and were given another site and were not allowed to choose where. We were told that we had to use their power convertor (which unplugged and spoiled everything in my fridge and defrosted everything in my freezer). The bathrooms reeked of mildew. The showers were pay showers with tiny heads that only sprayed a mist, and you could not adjust the water temperature. When I went to the office on day three, the woman behind the desk... the same one who checked me in said, "Checking out, correct?" Shocked i replied, "No, when I phoned and checked in I told you we needed a spot for two weeks." I was then informed that someone took a seasonal spot and i was given two hours to pack up and leave AND find another place to stay. Please note this campground is located next to a prison, the dirt roads are poorly maintained and only fit one vehicle at a time. The only positive thing that i can say is that the fishing was great. Lastly, they had two activities listed but both were cancelled. Another camper told me that they plan and cancel most activities. Do not ruin your vacation by staying at this disorganised slum of a campground. - country camper69
Jun 2017 - $23.00
We stayed for one month. Camping area was grassy; had electric, water, sewer. Internet service; no cable. Staff and other campers friendly. Pay showers, key for restroom. Nice beach and lake. Close to many attractions in N.H., Maine, Massachusetts. - pamMJR
Jun 2014 - $38.00
Clean Beach, beautiful little lake and swimming area. Picnic and grilling area right on the beach. Gated entrance for security, lots of seasonal folks who are very nice to weekend campers. Owners are very nice and helpful. Close to other NH attractions. - clundberg99
Jul 2008 - $40.00
Older campground with only about 14 Camper sites and 7 tent sites. The rest are seasonals. The pond was big and had a nice beach that was open to the public. The staff seemed like they were just doing their job. Our site was cramped for our 30' travel trailer. They could have spaced the campers apart better that were their this weekend. We were put between two campers that new each other and would cut thru our site, even under our awning. There were empty sites available. This campground is very close to Canobie Lake Amusement Park which is were we spent our Saturday. This is one reason I would go back there again, but that's it. - B. P. Donelan
Jul 2019 - $50.00
Front desk person was very nice. The sites were so close together than we had 2 ft past our awning until the next site. The site behind us was directly under our windows and we specifically heard them lean against us. The sites are all covered in wood chips so when you have a fire in the ring you are continually putting out fires that spread from under the ring. We offered to pay more to move to a larger site and was told they were full but yet the 4 days we were there they had many other sites open the same size with an open site next to that. There were also people directly behind to have 6 feet behind - tplsrd
May 2018 - $55.00
The layout of campground was okay. Was told by person answering phone, the head lady there, they had WiFi throughout the place. they knew the dates we were going to be there. NO WiFi. Just an excuse. We needed it for work. Bathrooms never cleaned for opening. Black mold on wood partitions, toilets. Luke warm showers. Same conditions in other bathhouses. Definitely needs updating, and cleaning. Pool wasn't open yet, it was too cold anyway. But pools are very small. Lots of highway noise. The sites are very small. Neighbors fire ring less than 6' from our window. Water was shut off on one morning, I guess for repairs. Was never told and The person in charge didn't seem to care. Just more excuses. Smell of urine around the campsite. Will never stay here again. - Bev Wey
Sep 2017 - $45.00
Pulled up to our site, the road was flooded with about 2" of water because they were draining the pool. We camped in a 33' fifth wheel across from the playground. It was very difficult to back into the site. It was uphill from the road, our camper barely fit in the site. Bath house was terrible, dirty, you had to pay for a shower, put coins into a rusted slot, to take a low pressure luke warm shower, nothing nice about bath house at all. Power horrible, was in the danger/red zone with nothing running at all! Dated 30 amp service, no breakers on the box. We couldn't use our A/C, (we tried and it dropped even lower). The site was horrible, filthy, with garbage on both sides, cigarettes everywhere, broken glass, trash! The site was an uneven pile of gravel and the front of the camper dropped/sank .75" overnight. The cost is really expensive for what you get. The pool area and the playground seemed very nice. This could be a really nice park but our experience was horrible and we would not return or recommend it to anyone who values their RV due to the electric being so poor, not even for an overnight stay. - SteveandAnn
