My wife and I are full-time RVers and we make it a point to search out five star rated campgrounds. We have found very few, but this one most certainly makes the grade! The owner and his wife have turned this average campground around in the four years they have owned it into a world-class vacation spot. Absolutely beautiful on the banks of the Israel and Connecticut Rivers, just across the Vermont state line on US Highway 2 in Lancaster, New Hampshire. Gorgeous well-kept, well manicured and has all the appointments and amenities you would ever want in your travels throughout New England. The owner is a retired Navy Captain and his attention to detail and high standards is evident throughout the park-we will most definitely visit riverside Campground again! We drive a 2015 45' Tiffin allegro bus. - Deines

This campground was formally know as Beaver Trails Campground. Now under new ownership. New owners are making improvements. Very well maintained campground, clean with grass mowed. Very clean campground. Nice pool area, but closed for the season. There is also a children's playground. There are seasonal RVs here, but very well maintained without trash around them. The seasonals here are for recreation and traveling works. Roads in campground are gravel and well maintained. Our site was level. Water pressure was 80+ psi. 50 Amp service was stable and good voltage. Leg 1 - 120v. Leg 2 - 120V. Our site had new power panels. Sewer connect at ground level. Making it easier to empty your sewer hose. Satellite reception in the open pull thru sites good. Verizon cell service was good. Verizon 4G was 19.94 Mbps download, 5.56 Mbps upload and a ping of 64. There is a gas station next door with convenience store, gas and diesel fuel at reasonable prices. - ETB

The dryer was broken, the site was sand and the sewer bubbled over at our site. There are several permanent trailers, RVs that need to be removed, and cleaned up.
The river has very little water just a small place to swim. The power went out at our site 3 times. It's very hard to drive thru and park. The staff is wonderful and the owner did give us a discount to stay: $40.00 a night for 3 nights. - Sabrina421960
Jul 2016 - $25.00
This is an older campground. Only electric we could see was 20 amp. Since the campground is close to the White Mountains, this isn't all that bad, but could be at least 30 amp. Most sites are fairly level, but all are grass and our 15,000# fiver sunk in a bit. Store is good and facilities are clean. While sites are close together, they had few here so there was no crowding at all. - Walt Bennett
Aug 2015 - $41.00
This is a huge park with amazing views of the White Mountains. Other reviews mention being too close to neighboring sites and noise and commotion from other campers. During our stay, there were very few occupied sites so that was definitely not an issue. We found it to be peaceful and quiet. Interior roads are paved but rough in spots. Sites are grassy but most are level. - Heart

Six night stay. Had to cut short our stay by one night but was too short a notice to get any refund. The park was clean, neat, and well thought-out. Although it was just me and my wife this would be a great campground to bring kids. Paddle boats, canoes, playground, pool with water slides, giant chess & checkers, shuffle board. Laundry room was perfect. Bathrooms were spotless. Mosquitoes were thick at our site that was right on the water. Management was great and the store had good selection of items. - germaneighter
Sep 2018 - $35.00
$54 per night but we averaged $35 for our 4 night stay with Passport America discount. W/E50/S/C/I Our campsite was in a wooded area with nice separation between sites and looked straight out at a beautiful lake. The grounds were well maintained and the internet was the strongest and most reliable I have ever had in a campground! Needed a couple blocks to level. This location is convenient to Mt. Washington and other attractions. Would definitely stay here again. - Teddi2
Jun 2018 - $57.00
Park was located on a mountain next to a lake and very beauitful and peaceful (before the kids got out from school). The park was clean and every campsite was secluded by trees and shrubs on 3 sides - very private. We had a lakeview waterfront spot that was spectacular!! The management went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The fresh muffins and coffee in the morning were an added bonus. We would definitely come back and recommend this campsite to all!!! - Ellery

This is NOT a resort! Just an average campground. As stated earlier, this campground is not designed for anything over 35'. Sites are good sized and fairly level. The campground is well maintained with gravel roads and grass/gravel sites. Utilities are well placed and function as designed. Wi-Fi is poor to none, depending on location of site. Verizon service is weak and very slooow. They do have two nice pools, one of which is heated. Definitely not a good value for the price. - lllkrob
Aug 2014 - $45.00
While listed as big rig friendly, it isn't. The turns within the campground are too sharp, tree overhangs are many. If you are 40 feet or longer, look elsewhere. Many seasonal renters who were quite friendly. Has two pools and two hot tubs. A buffet breakfast is set up every morning for $8 for adults. Landscaping is tasteful. Internet was very slow or non-existent. Would not return. - EdGuru
Aug 2011 - $37.00
This campground is located across the street from Santa's Village amusement park so it attracts a lot of families with small children. For those families, this would probably be a 10 as it is neat with clean restrooms and nice looking swimming pools. Unfortunately we didn't realize this when we pulled in for a one night stopover. While we do like children, there were just a lot of them, many tired from a long day and some without adequate parental supervision, so a lot of crying, shouting, and other commotion well into the evening. So if you have small children and want a great place to visit the amusement park, this campground is for you. If you want a peaceful evening, then suggest looking elsewhere. - GAnnie

Can't complain - a very nice campground. We had an 18 foot trailer. Our site was right beside laundry. Only draw back was at night very bright light shined in camper all night, but we blocked it out the best we could. People very friendly, very nice pool, Santas Village down the road. Would stay again, but would request a space couple sites away from laundry. - HappyCamper67

This is our first time staying at Fort Jefferson Campground. We chose this CG because it is in northern NH, and had hoped for a northern NH camping experience. Unfortunately it is another CG that caters primarily to its seasonal residents. Our site (98) was at the end of a row of sites, completely open with no shade whatsoever. With my rig set up the kids had barely enough room to play on our own site. The constant onslaught of kids on electric cars & bikes got old. I understand that there isn't much room to roam, but these cars going by every 5 minutes (starting at 7:00-7:30 AM) makes it impossible to enjoy a quiet coffee in the AM. Even the owner (I assume it is the owner, he is the only one driving around on a "Gator" vehicle, no other gas powered vehicles on the property) drives around the whole place giving his kids rides....all afternoon...EVERY DAY. It is enough to drive you crazy. If you don't believe me, try it out for a weekend...you will see. The bathroom (one for the whole place) was consistently dirty and ran out of TP almost every day. The showers (albeit free) had very inconsistent hot water. The park next door (Formerly Six Gun City, now called Fort Jefferson Fun Park) and the CG are owned by the same family. I understand the need to stabilize income, and open to seasonals (its happening everywhere now), but this is getting out of hand. The "clique" atmosphere takes over at these places, and makes us traditional campers feel as if we shouldn't be there. I'm not saying the folks weren't nice, but when you go to do the one thing there is to do (the pool) and it is overrun with one family (we learned that one family has 7 seasonal sites here, all with 3+ children each....you can imagine the size of this group!) it definitely puts a damper on your plans. The people were nice, the facilities & sites were subpar, the CG was mostly occupied by local seasonals (most lived mear minutes away). Fort Jefferson Fun Park was entertaining for the kids, but it is not even a shadow of what it used to be. It kills me to see a great little park die slowly like it appears to be doing. I wish they would partner with other local parks & businesses to help improve their situation. If you ever wanted to see Six Gun City, or if you remember it from your childhood, you better check it out before it is gone forever. Sants Village is just a 10 minute drive away too... Bottom line, we will not be returning to the CG. - BigNuge
Jul 2012 - $22.00
The draw of this campground is Six Gun City, same owners and they offer length of stay passes. Many seasonals that seemed mostly neat, no build structures. Sites are tight and you can only do so much with Six Gun City which is geared to the very young. New owners are expanding and improving so in a few years could be better. New bathhouse would be a great direction to go as the one they have is very dated. - Justafan

We have stayed here 2 times over 3-4 years. Would stay more if we were not living in GA. So much to do here. The owners and seasonal campers are very friendly. We were invited to pot luck and bingo. Two campers took my husband fishing with them. It is a small campground. There is a clean laundry with 2 washers and dryers. Water pressure was good. Fire rings and tables at the site. - mzc

Quiet campground at the time we were there. Mostly seasonals that are immaculately kept. Beautiful grounds. Clean, heated pool. Very well maintained. Dog friendly. We would stay here again. - sbradley
Sep 2013 - $30.00
WIFI only available close to the office is the only reason we did not give this campground a perfect 10. Everything else was absolutely excellent. We had a large pull-through site that was easy to navigate. Every evidence that the owners really care about the place and their guests. All was neat and tidy. Utilities all worked fine. Owners were most friendly and helpful, providing great tourist info and local knowledge. About 7 miles off the thruway, the location beside the river was perfect - quiet and calm. Location was ideal for us, just north of the main tourist areas - Mt Washington, the Notches, Bretton Woods, the Conways. We would definitely return here. - User3784

This is a delightful campground with very helpful and friendly management. It is located a few miles out of Concord and is very quiet. The sites are large, and there is grass and trees between you and your neighbor. There is gravel at each site, and it was the most level place we have been. We took a factory tour of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, visited a creamery, and bought cheese, and visited the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe. We recommend this RV park highly and will go back and stay longer the next time. - rolling homeless

The Twin Mountain area is in a remote part of Northern New Hampshire, with the local attraction being Mount Washington. This KOA is typical of all their parks. It was clean and the staff was helpful and courteous. Also typical of all KOA's is the price - somewhat high (even though I have a KOA membership). When you check in, an employee guides you to your site and helps you to maneuver into position. I found the Wifi to work reasonably well and the cable TV (mandatory, since this is in the mountains) was good. Although our site was at the front of the park with shade trees on both sides, they have a newer section in the back of the park that is open and sunny, if this is what you prefer. Our site was level with both a picnic table and fire ring, although we didn't use them. A good park to visit if you don't mind paying the price. - farmboy25

Located in New Hampshire's scenic White Mountains is Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA. In true KOA fashion, this park has all the amenities one has come to expect at KOAs: pool, dog park, large playground, and a well-stocked store. The park also has its Gemstone "Mine," where participants can pan for gemstones or arrowheads, and the Barrel Express with daily rides for children. This large park is divided into several different sections; we stayed in the deluxe patio area. Check-in was accomplished quickly by very friendly staff and we were escorted up the hill to our pull-through site with perfect satellite reception. Our gravel site included a concrete patio, stone fire ring, barbecue, and an ornamental patio table and chairs. In addition to a variety of RV sites, the park also has cabins available as rentals. While we were there, an EF 0 tornado quickly and unexpectedly blew through our section of the park, tearing off awnings, knocking out power, and downing trees. The staff, and also the staff of nearby RV parks, immediately came back to the park and worked long into the night to clean everything up. By the next morning, you could hardly tell that anything had happened. It was amazing! The owners of this park certainly have a staff of which they can be very proud. - HRTravelers

They have very poor wifi coverage. The front office staff is minimally helpful and unconcerned. - Cape Coral Cruiser
