This is a good location for big rigs. Good access, clean. Laundry facilities located in the barn with the game room. Equipment was working well. Restrooms were clean. Chuck and Laura helpful with local recommendations. We were camped in a large open area. There is also a wooded area if that is your preference as well as tents sites along the river. DH was able to wash the coach and car. We would stay here again. The location is very peaceful. Negatives: there is no over the air TV access because of the Campground location. The pad where we were parked had some gravel. Because of the rain, the ground became soft and our jacks and tires sunk into the ground. More and thicker layer of gravel would be great. Our coach sustained dings when weed whacking was being done when stones were thrown up. Not good customer care. Thus the "satisfactory"rating for customer service. WiFi is present around the office/game room building.
Be sure to follow the directions to the Campground from the website. The Rand McNally directions send one down a road that leads to a cover d bridge and 3 ton maximum. We
camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Motorhome.

Dollar General and grocery store/meat market down the road on Hwy 10 are very convenient. Excellent meat. The food co-op in Keene is excellent. Be sure to stop at their deli. Yummy food.

You need to get across the river from route 10 to get to this campground that lies at the end of Pine Road. Even our motorhome GPS (that knows our size and weight) tried to direct us over a covered bridge with 3 ton and 8-foot limits. The best bet is to follow the campground website's directions or to follow the small green campground directional signs that point the way to the bridge over the river. When we arrived, we found an extremely wide-open and spacious facility run by exceptionally friendly hosts. Our site was full-hookup 50-amp and all utilities worked well. There is no WIFI at the sites, although it is available near the office. About a half mile up the road from the campground is an entry to the Ashuelot River Rail Trail that provides a relatively smooth bicycle riding surface into the town of Keene four miles away. You can connect there to another rail trail if you are looking for more distance. There is a decent restaurant just north of the campground on route 10 and many other choices in Keene. We camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Motorhome.

Well-kept large park with helpful owners. Site for all types, from tents in the trees, spots along the Ashuelot River, and open fields for dish TV folks. Available utilities vary but our full hookup worked well except when the whole town of West Swanzey went dark after a bad storm. Game room in the office building. Verizon signal was weak. WiFi available only near the office. Get arrival directions from the office - mapping programs will take you to RV-impassible covered bridges (there are 6 in the area). Good grocery stores and shopping north on State Road 10. The Ashuelot River runs slowly alongside the campground. Swimming is encouraged, and catchable fish are rumored to be upriver. Canoes and kayaks are available for a fee. Hiking in the Dickinson Memorial Forest begins at the rear of the Campground; use bug spray. The well-maintained packed dirt and gravel Ashuelot Rail Trail can be reached by paved roads for biking or by hiking through the forest; road with covered bridge is 3 miles north and the town of Keene is about 7 miles away. Trail to the south peters out to a mud path through unmowed grass. See the very knowledgeable campground owners for details about the many hiking places in the area. We camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:
Angie's Pizzeria, a couple miles south on State Road 10, had pies made with fresh peppers and mushrooms. To the north, JimEddie's restaurant had a large smoker out front but baby back ribs without the pink meat associated with smoking. There are several shopping centers north and west of the SR 9/SR 10 intersection. Flights of local whiskies are offered at the New England Sweetwater Farm and Distillery, 8 miles south on Main Street in Winchester.

I love this campground!!! The owners are very friendly and work so hard to maintain their campground!! In addition to being the cleanest campground I've ever been to, the location was perfect for me. The Ashuelot River surrounds the campground for kayaking, canoeing and swimming. The adjacent forest is beautiful and it abuts the best rail trail that leads you right into Keene, NH. Great for walking, running, or biking! Overall it is just the best and I'm looking forward to my week stay in July!!! We camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park on a huge acreage of lawn surrounded by huge trees, right next to a river.
We have been to dozens of RV parks in the last couple of months and hundreds over the past 30 years, and this is a new favorite. What sets this park apart?
Two things: one, the owners don't just put out a bunch of fliers about local places to visit. When we were checked in, the owner found out what we specifically like to do and offered advice that fit our preferences. Second, this RV park has an off-leash, non-fenced area way off on the side of the park (away from sites) which was perfect for our 3 large dogs to stretch their legs. The owners actually tell you about that, too.
There is some highway noise nearby, but it was insignificant and not noticeable. We
camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The owner, Chuck, was super friendly and helpful. Provided information for attractions to see in the area. The park was spacious, very clean, and quiet. Plenty of room to maneuver any size trailer or Class A. Very reasonable laundry ($2 for wash and $1 for dryer). If you like exploring covered bridges, this is a place to stay, with six in the near-by areas. We spent a week here and would come back in a heart-beat. Great place to stay. Our site did not have sewer, but Chuck does have a honey-pot that he will be happy to service your unit. We wanted a fire on one evening, and good ole Chuck delivered a nice stack of wood to our campsite. We camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very well maintained campground. The owner is very friendly and makes it a point to remember your name. Every time he saw us he asked if everything was ok. The sites are level grass with plenty of room in between campers. The utilities worked fine. We had W/E/S, 50A. We could not get the WIFI signal at our site. We did go up to the office to use it though and it worked fine. This is a very family friendly campground. They rent kayaks/canoes/etc. and will shuttle you up the river to launch or you can launch right in the campground. The river runs right next to the campground and the there is a very nice rail trail that you can access from a trail right out of the park. I really wanted to rate this park a 10, but the real negative to this park is the road noise. You can't even see the road as the river and trees are in between, but the road noise is pretty loud. We would definitely stay here again. They are planning to add more W/E/S sites, which will be nice. There was no shade at the FHU sites, but trees are planted so it is just a matter of time before they are shaded. We camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very casual and laid back campground.Under new management from what I understand.New owner tries to make things easy for campers but may be slightly upfront if you didn't hear or understand something he said. RV sites were in the open field with lots of sunshine. Sites were set up intelligently with 15,30 and 50amp services. Water of course also.Nice lazy river flows next to campground where my dog could go swimming.I believe there was a game room for kids and the office did have some supplies if you forgot or ran out of something. There was no swimming pool. There was some trails in the woods you could walk on. I would consider camping here again. We camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Right on the river in a small New England town. Don't let the drive in scare you, keep going. Campground was beautifully maintained with large freshly mown grass pads, the dogs lounged in comfort. Water pressure was low which meant switching on the pump to shower but that's the only minor negative. Dump station conveniently located at the exit, but had electric and water at the site. Overall a great quiet place to relax that we stopped at by chance. Very convenient to Keene NH which had a good food Co-op. We camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

There are 7 sites with w/e/s and 12 sites with w/e and the rest are excellent tent sites. There is one cabin and a second being restored. A small game room as well as a playground for small children is available. The campground is well groomed and well kept. There is fishing and canoeing/kayaking on the Ashuelot River. It is a very quiet campground and well managed. There is a lot to see and do nearby, from theater to stock car racing. Nearby is the city of Keene and Keene State College, lots of stores and eateries. We camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Motorhome.

A simple campground, no frills, just your quiet, beautiful campground. If you are looking for activities to fill your children's day this probably isn't the place. They have a small playground and arcade but no organized activities. This is the type of campground we are drawn to, no golf carts flying around, small and very friendly staff. I would not hesitate to go back to this little gem! We camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very Happy. This campground is very quiet. No activities this time of year but rec hall with some games and jungle gym for kids. Really, better campground for singles and those w/out kids. Nice, big spaces. Full hookup sites are a little smaller. 1 bath house was clean. Very friendly owners who help where needed. Nice and close to local cities w/beautiful site seeing spots. Check out Pumpkin Festival this time of year. pumkinfestival.org Close to fairgrounds which bus you into the festival. Festival was awesome. Food was incredible and very inexpensive. Gotta see this during the day and at night. Loved the campground and the quietness. We camped at Ashuelot River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
