Level back-in sites. Adequate but older facilities. Watch closely for the park entrance as the sign still reads "Tarry Ho." - rfmscat
Sep 2018 - $54.00
This is a quiet, clean campground, with gravel roads and level, grass, back-in sites. There is a swimming pool, river access, small playground, and open grassy area to walk dogs. Poor OTA TV reception, but campground WiFi worked fine. Sites are fairly roomy, with a few sites large enough for big rigs. We would stay here again.
Sign for this campground still said "Tarry Ho". This was a good place to stay while exploring the White Mountain area. - FranM

Also called Tarry Ho. Level spot, 50 Amp sites are in a sunny open area. Plenty of room for big rigs. Tent sites along the river are very pretty. Decent spacing, good power and hookups. Good WiFi. Quiet at night. Lots of room to walk the dog. Convenient to lot of attractions without being right in the congestion. - Motorhome girl

Very rustic park with narrow interior roads that are mostly sand. Lots of tree overhang and branches extending into roads. Staff very nice and helpful. Close to Mt Washington. - traveling the use
Jul 2016 - $48.00
Level front to rear an issue. Back in grass site up hill to rear. To level had one front wheel off ground. Tight turns out of campground. - Casy
Jun 2016 - $43.00
Previous posts are on point. Good location, large, level, shady sites with easy hookups. Cable worked well. Staff efficient and helpful. Wi-Fi only worked (work being a relative term) at office and wasn't worth the effort even though they provide a desk. Other posts grumbled about the interior roads. These grumbles were well deserved. I did manage with a 33 ft class A without difficulty. I would stay here again for the location and site benefits. - plove

The sites here are all pull-through, and the roads are easy to navigate. The owners are very friendly. It's a quiet park, good area for walking dogs, quite a nice distance back from the road - their cabins are in front of the RV spaces. Small building with the washers and dryers. In the heart of the White Mountains, gorgeous views all around. Each site has good length for all big rigs, so can accommodate all, and your tow vehicle as well. - pamcameron44
Sep 2018 - $36.00
Great little CG behind the Motor Court, long, fairly level gravel & grass pull through, with FHU w/ cable, there is only 30A electric, but all hookups worked well. We had a site at the end of a row, which appeared to be the most spacious. There are no bathrooms or showers, but with FHU's, we really didn't need them. A nice place for touring the area. If in the area again, we certainly would stay here. - bukhrn
Jul 2018 - $40.00
We had a great stay at this clean, reasonably priced RV Park in the heart of the White Mountains. Enjoyed a long, pull-thru site with plenty of room for our 45' RV and towed SUV. The owners were very friendly and we enjoyed meeting their cute dog "Charlie". A very nice playroom with a well appointed store and a pool table. Strong wifi in the playroom with a slight drop off as you got further away. We enjoyed the mountain views, walks to the river out back and swimming in the biggest pool in the area. We will return again. Great Job! - Harles

Oct 2018 - $50.00
The Twin Mountain area is in a remote part of Northern New Hampshire, with the local attraction being Mount Washington. This KOA is typical of all their parks. It was clean and the staff was helpful and courteous. Also typical of all KOA's is the price - somewhat high (even though I have a KOA membership). When you check in, an employee guides you to your site and helps you to maneuver into position. I found the Wifi to work reasonably well and the cable TV (mandatory, since this is in the mountains) was good. Although our site was at the front of the park with shade trees on both sides, they have a newer section in the back of the park that is open and sunny, if this is what you prefer. Our site was level with both a picnic table and fire ring, although we didn't use them. A good park to visit if you don't mind paying the price. - farmboy25
Aug 2018 - $74.00
Located in New Hampshire's scenic White Mountains is Twin Mountain / Mt. Washington KOA. In true KOA fashion, this park has all the amenities one has come to expect at KOAs: pool, dog park, large playground, and a well-stocked store. The park also has its Gemstone "Mine," where participants can pan for gemstones or arrowheads, and the Barrel Express with daily rides for children. This large park is divided into several different sections; we stayed in the deluxe patio area. Check-in was accomplished quickly by very friendly staff and we were escorted up the hill to our pull-through site with perfect satellite reception. Our gravel site included a concrete patio, stone fire ring, barbecue, and an ornamental patio table and chairs. In addition to a variety of RV sites, the park also has cabins available as rentals. While we were there, an EF 0 tornado quickly and unexpectedly blew through our section of the park, tearing off awnings, knocking out power, and downing trees. The staff, and also the staff of nearby RV parks, immediately came back to the park and worked long into the night to clean everything up. By the next morning, you could hardly tell that anything had happened. It was amazing! The owners of this park certainly have a staff of which they can be very proud. - HRTravelers

Sep 2018 - $35.00
This is a heavily wooded campground in the scenic White Mountains of NH. The staff was friendly and helpful. At check-in we were given a campground map that was hand drawn on a sheet of paper. Never seen that before, but we easily located our site. After the office you climb a hill to the sites, the pavement ends. All sites are back-in and the interior roads are hilly and gravel and quite tight. It was a little difficult backing in with my 35 ft MH, a bigger unit might have some trouble. The sites are sand/dirt. They are wide, but shallow, and quite level. Surrounded by trees, it is very private. The vast majority of the sites are seasonals, but no park models. The hook-ups are at the very back of the site so you need to back-in all the way. There is no cable or Wi-Fi, and very few antenna stations. The water pressure was strong, but the voltage dropped to quite low levels at times. It was rather cool when we were there and I would have liked 50amp service, but they only have 30amp. We enjoyed our time here and would not hesitate to return. - Martini
Jul 2017 - $38.00
Owners very accommodating - converted our site to a 30amp before we arrived; spacious sites, lovely setting, quiet, clean, near what we wanted to see. WiFi and cable can be sketchy, but, hey, maybe that is a good thing sometimes !! - Barbara Aileen
Aug 2015 - $35.00
This campground is mostly seasonal campers. The staff is nice and welcoming. This campground is in need of some TLC and updating. The showers are fiberglass and walled with painted OSB as are the restrooms. They were clean but dated. There are no lights in the laundry room. The site was good having trees/foliage etc. separating the sites. Some tree trimming would be in order. The WiFi was spotty at best Sometimes we got it, other times not. Seems to be a bandwidth problem). Forget TV reception, one station at best. We also paid an additional $10.00 per day for 2 additional adults. State taxes are also high. Still, a pleasant experience. - DXRFLYER

Jul 2011 - $16.00
First of all, reaching the campground was laborious as the road was not maintained and full of potholes and broken blacktop. The camping area itself was small and road very narrow. The sites were small and it was difficult to fit just two average tents. The drinking water was BROWN and disgusting. The pit toilets were rank and not cleaned regularly. The camp host was not around and could not be asked any questions. We had my sister visit and there is no parking area so she waited at our site since we could not locate the woman who was the host. I walked to her (very nasty and messy) site several times and gave up. Later she comes screaming at me in front of my family members like I was trying to sneak the extra car in there. It definitely put a huge damper on our small family gatherings. We had rented 3 sites between us so we could get together. I will never stay there again, nor will I recommend this place to my friends or my camping group on facebook. The National Parks should get rid of this person. No wonder the place wasn't full on a big holiday weekend. - Tooder
Aug 2007 - $16.00
For a public area that is in a National Forest, this campground has not received any upgrades or renovations in years. The vault toilets are up to date but are being pumped once every (2) two years. These literally gag you unlike those of the State Parks which are quite tolerable. The Campground Host is Hot & Cold with her Rude and sarcastic manerism. This campground is managed by a company called Pro-Sport. Very disappointing for such a beautiful spot in the White Mountains. - t.c.fal.sr

Aug 2017 - $18.00
Nothing much has changed. There are still potholes that fill up with water. It was very quiet. No one but tenters came in the 3 days we were there. Rustic sites that are for the most part level. I backed out into the entrance road that had some erosion from rain storms. This is my third trip there spread out over 10 years and it hasn't changed much except for the new office. - mrracechaser
Jul 2016 - $18.00
OK for those with a self-contained unit, would not stay there otherwise.
Weeknight rate is PA of $17.50, Friday and Saturday rates are $35. Sites are lovely, heavily treed (careful with those slides) and very quiet at night. Most sites are spacious but some sites are eroded and need levelers. Other reviewers have commented on the bathrooms, nothing has changed. Washers and dryer are outside the bathrooms, under an overhang and exposed to the weather. One washer had a large spider web over the coin insert, the dryer was unplugged. No OTA channels but Verizon worked fine.
Exit road had major rain ruts that would cause issues for many RV's. Hubby U-turned our Class A to exit out the "entrance" road.
Really nice folks at the office but we probably won't be back. - Mom_of_Two
Sep 2015 - $18.00
Price reflects PA discount. Previous reviews amply describe this rustic park. The owner was very helpful but not very conscientious about campground upkeep. The gravel roads have deep potholes and the single washer and dryer are exposed to the weather and didn't look functional. Both bathroom doors have large screen openings, providing limited privacy. Our full hook ups worked fine, but the forest canopy was too dense for AT&T reception and the only place to get WiFi is apparently beside the office. However, there's a very nice library just a few miles away in Bethlehem with free WiFi. On the positive site, this park is reasonably priced for PA members and close to some beautiful country. - Camera Buff

Jul 2009 - $34.00
I'm rating a 7 because of the price. Be careful of the fees that they list on their rates page off of their website. There was a fee for staying during a holiday time, fee for our pets. If we pick up after our pets, what is the FEE for? We have 2 dogs: $10 a day for the dogs is crazy! $35+$10+$3 for the holiday fee, then there is the state tax and the new 9% tax. We paid $200.00 for a 4 night stay! Thats crazy for a DENSE, wooded camp site. There is only Natural amneties to this campground. Nothing man made, like a pool. The state park is nearby and it offers amenities of hiking, views, info area and snack bar. Trails at the campground, river area for swimming. Showers needed to be regularly cleaned more often between people I feel, HAIR EVERYWHERE in the showers. The site was beautiful though. The sites are tight. I don't recommend anyone coming in here pulling anything bigger than a 20' trailer. We couldn't use the dump station, because it was too tight and hard to get to. We would have had to exit the campground, then go back in to reach it: then its hard to turn around once you are there. The sites are tight/dense, great for tents of course. Don't leave wood for the next camper, because the crew that works here takes it! Why?? I don't know. We may go back sometime. - freeloaders
Aug 2008 - $32.00
We spend 2 weeks on the road and this campground stands out the most. We had so much fun here. This was very scenic. They had wild life everywhere. Moose in the River, Bear in an open field. This park was extremely clean and well cared for. The bathrooms were very clean and the camp store was always stocked with everything I needed. The staff was very friendly. It was very easy for me to maneuver around. If I had a motorhome or fifth wheel would want a site closer to the store. I drove all the way from Toledo, Ohio and can't wait to come back someday. This is by far the most Scenic campground I have ever been. They also have tons of trails close by with waterfalls everywhere. You will not be disappointed. - Chadwick

Can't complain - a very nice campground. We had an 18 foot trailer. Our site was right beside laundry. Only draw back was at night very bright light shined in camper all night, but we blocked it out the best we could. People very friendly, very nice pool, Santas Village down the road. Would stay again, but would request a space couple sites away from laundry. - HappyCamper67
Jul 2014 - $36.00
This is our first time staying at Fort Jefferson Campground. We chose this CG because it is in northern NH, and had hoped for a northern NH camping experience. Unfortunately it is another CG that caters primarily to its seasonal residents. Our site (98) was at the end of a row of sites, completely open with no shade whatsoever. With my rig set up the kids had barely enough room to play on our own site. The constant onslaught of kids on electric cars & bikes got old. I understand that there isn't much room to roam, but these cars going by every 5 minutes (starting at 7:00-7:30 AM) makes it impossible to enjoy a quiet coffee in the AM. Even the owner (I assume it is the owner, he is the only one driving around on a "Gator" vehicle, no other gas powered vehicles on the property) drives around the whole place giving his kids rides....all afternoon...EVERY DAY. It is enough to drive you crazy. If you don't believe me, try it out for a weekend...you will see. The bathroom (one for the whole place) was consistently dirty and ran out of TP almost every day. The showers (albeit free) had very inconsistent hot water. The park next door (Formerly Six Gun City, now called Fort Jefferson Fun Park) and the CG are owned by the same family. I understand the need to stabilize income, and open to seasonals (its happening everywhere now), but this is getting out of hand. The "clique" atmosphere takes over at these places, and makes us traditional campers feel as if we shouldn't be there. I'm not saying the folks weren't nice, but when you go to do the one thing there is to do (the pool) and it is overrun with one family (we learned that one family has 7 seasonal sites here, all with 3+ children each....you can imagine the size of this group!) it definitely puts a damper on your plans. The people were nice, the facilities & sites were subpar, the CG was mostly occupied by local seasonals (most lived mear minutes away). Fort Jefferson Fun Park was entertaining for the kids, but it is not even a shadow of what it used to be. It kills me to see a great little park die slowly like it appears to be doing. I wish they would partner with other local parks & businesses to help improve their situation. If you ever wanted to see Six Gun City, or if you remember it from your childhood, you better check it out before it is gone forever. Sants Village is just a 10 minute drive away too... Bottom line, we will not be returning to the CG. - BigNuge
Jul 2012 - $22.00
The draw of this campground is Six Gun City, same owners and they offer length of stay passes. Many seasonals that seemed mostly neat, no build structures. Sites are tight and you can only do so much with Six Gun City which is geared to the very young. New owners are expanding and improving so in a few years could be better. New bathhouse would be a great direction to go as the one they have is very dated. - Justafan

Sep 2018 - $40.00
Three major points about this park. No pets allowed. There are no trash cans. And, at least in September, the restrooms are locked. This park is basically 7 tightly packed sites with hookups at the edge of a parking lot. In the middle of some amazing scenery, the view on the four sides of our coach was...parking lot, coach, grass berm, and another coach. For $40, I would expect a lot more. What I got were a lot of rules that didn't seem to be enforced. No pets in the park, even though there were plenty of people taking their dogs on the hiking trails. Some weird rule that all 3 hookups had to be hooked up. And a guy who tried to steal my wife's phone when she took the dog for an early morning walk. Anyway, this place was just a $40 parking lot with hookups. Plenty of hiking, an aerial tram, and a small lake (with beach). Also the ski area in winter. - AnnP
Jul 2018 - $40.00
We stayed here for 2 nights, one night in campsite #7 (in our eyes, the far superior site because you are on the end with lots of space on the site -- did not have the crowds another review talked about) and one night in campsite #2 (one of the worst sites, as it is very cramped and claustrophobic). While the campsites are actually IN the parking lot on the edge, the general location is spectacular. You are at the base of Cannon Mountain right by Echo Lake. There is a small campstore there, public bathrooms, the lake to swim in, paddleboats and canoes to rent, a paved 8.7 bike path to the Flume Gorge, and countless hiking trails nearby, both easy and hard. Also Cannon Mountain has a gondola you can ride to the top in summer. It's in an absolutely beautiful area in Franconia Notch. The campground is right off the highway and very easy to get in and out. Sites are tight but paved and level. While the campsites themselves aren't the most scenic, the area makes up for that. Note: the site was big enough for the trailer, but we needed to park the truck in a parking spot in the lot. We stayed in a 26' trailer. - A New Chapter
May 2018 - $40.00
Yes the site is located in a parking lot so you will be seeing lots of traffic arriving through out the day. Also they like to walk the parking lot and check the campsites but nothing was touched at all. TV reception was good! Phone wasn't so good (I didn't miss it much). There is lot to do or not - it's your choice. We biked the bike path which is right around the corner from the parking lot and it was amazing! We will return hopefully when the weather is warmer to jump into the beautiful lake. - wastin_time
