Great place if you want to retire. I don't know what's louder the campers or the crickets. It's lights out at 8:30....pretty awesome. - Scooby1
Jun 2015 - $25.00
We first chose Pine Haven because of the location to most of what north New Hampshire had to offer. It is about a 45 minutes to an hour drive to many of the great sites. First off, this is a campground and not a resort, so if you are looking for resort style camping, this is not for you. What you do get is a wonderfully run campground by some wonderful people. We had planned on staying two weeks but extended two more weeks to have some work taken care of at Camping World. We looked at five other campgrounds closer to Camping World, but none of them were as nice as Pine Haven.
The owners take amazing pride of Pine Haven and it spreads to all the people that stay there. The seasonal campers are by far the nicest group of people we have met since we started full time traveling six months ago. The sites are large, private, and well shaded. Water and electric were ideal, Wi-Fi had some issues, but being taken care of by the staff. There was minimal cell service for Verizon so several times we had to drive a few minutes down the road so our calls wouldn't drop (obviously not something controlled by the campground, just an FYI). Bath houses are old but clean, laundry is in a covered porch, needs to be updated and has cold water only.
There are events for children and adults, which usually have great turnouts. It is very quiet, even when fully booked during the 4th of July weekend. Typical noise during the day, no disturbances at all, and completely peaceful at night. If you plan on coming here for a weekend party blowout, go somewhere else.
The nightly rate is based on a monthly rate for our stay. If we return to New Hampshire next summer, we will definitely return to Pine Haven. - pfogleboch

This campground is a hidden gem among the campgrounds in NH. It is clean, fun, and friendly. There is much to do in this area and discover. You could hike in Tenney mountain area or shop in local antiques or bargains. If you care to travel a little the White Mountain attraction are not far. Your hosts/owners are gracious and more than helpful for all your needs or information. Sites are level and more wooded with w/e hookups at river. We stayed in a pop-up. - Hargus

As with all my reviews I like to qualify my taste in campgrounds because that tends to influence your rating significantly. I love woodys shady sites with lots of privacy so if your a RV resort concrete slab pave road type of camper this is not the campground for you. But if your like me and like the woods and the feeling of being out in the deep woods sitting around the campfire this place is AWESOME ! The campground is very small and very basic no fluff here. There is a beautiful rambling brook that splits the campground down the middle on one side is the tenting area. The tenting area is one of the best I've ever seen. Beautiful large VERY private sites, many that run along the river. If your into riverside "deep woods feeling" type of tenting this is the place. There are really no activities to speak of they do have a excellent basketball court and a basic mini-golf and small playground BUT if your into hiking they have an excellent hiking area that gives you beautiful outlooks and there is tons of hiking in the area as well. Lots of other tourist attracts close by too. Majority of the sites are small rig type of sites there are a few that can handle larger units up to 35'. We camped in a 35' 5th wheel right on the brook electric and water no sewer. The site was beautiful, quiet, private, nice round stone fireplace, and the sound of water running over the rocky riverbed all day and night. If you looking a for a nice quiet relaxing place this is it, nothing fancy just nature. The store was small and provided basic needs. The bathroom was rustic but clean. One glaring negative, the dumpstaion is on the wrong side so you have to navigate a u-turn to dump then again to leave. I don't quite understand why the don't rectify that situation. We will definitely be back, its an excellent quiet relaxing campground for just hanging out or using as a base for all the fun things to do in the area. - Quint
Jul 2007 - $33.00
The website and its description of the campground is quite misleading. The brook was stagnant as was the thickly weeded pond, so swimming was not an option. They had a new basketball court and mini golf course. My children, both under 6, were not allowed to use the mini golf. The rec room was closed during posted open hours. Bathroom facility although clean was very small with two toilets and two shower stalls. We stayed one night of our planned three. Management did refund our money for the other two nights. - Lucas874

I really like it hear, it is a nice little campground with a pool and splash pad. Office staff was great each and every time we entered the store. Other campers were very friendly an nice which always makes it nice. Being a holiday weekend we found the place to be very quiet which was great. Also our pull through site was very large, long and wide with bushes between sites. On the negative side for us, maybe not everyone, there is little to no cell service in the area and we know this going in. When this situation happens we rely on WiFi and cable. Unfortunately not all full hook up sites have cable and the cable sites were taken when we booked back in Feb. The WiFi was weak and not working for a good paper of the weekend. They told us at checkin that it would be slow since the park was full. If any one of these three were available it would have been better. My wife said on the way home that there are enough great campground with all three so she will not be in a rush to return which is too bad since it is a nice place otherwise. - Happy Camper X2
Aug 2017 - $48.00
This was our first stay here and will not be our last. From check in to the end of our stay we truly enjoyed this campground. We had a site that backed to the brook and the brook led to a river. It is a very quiet, quaint place. It was very peaceful and beautiful. The owners were very nice and they kept the place clean and quiet. We saw one or two patrols at night but there was not much for them to do as everyone was quiet. We were able to enjoy the heated pool which really hit the spot and we also went blueberry picking just down the street. They offer various activities throughout the weekend for those who want to participate. There are a few seasonal's here but they are kind off off on their own in 2 locations of the campground. We checked out the bathrooms to find they were very modern and clean. Our site was plenty large enough and all the connections worked well and were placed in a great location to be used. We enjoyed our stay and will return as there is plenty to do in the area. - Happy Camper X2
Jul 2013 - $41.00
Very nice place, very friendly staff. Has a couple of playgrounds, one near us on the sites near the river. Extra stuff for the kiddies - the Mining Adventure and panning for gems, a pool and a splash pad. Lots were a wee bit small on the river but staff had talked to us ahead and were very helpful in their recommendations for a site big enough for our trailer. - SharonW.

Jul 2017 - $73.00
The campground itself is very nice, the sites are large, however it is very hilly in some spots, and backing in a 34 foot trailer was tricky. Make sure if you're bringing your own equipment, you bring a pressure regulator for the water, as the water pressure was very high. The staff was very nice, and unlike some of the reviews I found, I never felt the religious overtones that some spoke of. They give you a small pamphlet when you check in, and invite you to a chapel service on Saturday night. That's it. Wrist bands: I listened to a staff member explain to another guest that they are for the protection of the registered guests, and to keep strays from using the facilities. Ok, I can accept that they felt they had to do something, but here is where I took issue. If you LOST your band, it was $10 per day for your remaining stay. So they clearly have the opinion if you "lost it", you're sneaking people in. A stretch, but ok... Now, if it breaks, and they are wax paper, its $10 to replace, even if you still have the broken one. Why? Is the paper that expensive? If I'm a registered guest, you know I've paid, and I still have the band, why is it $10? Just screams of a money grab there. If you're reading this, you likely are a connected person to technology. Be aware, other reviews are not kidding, there is NO CELLULAR RECEPTION on any carrier. There is wifi (slow and finicky) at the pool. - Beej1024
Jul 2017 - $69.00
I have stayed at Moose Hillock Lake George and liked it so we went to try NH location this season. If you are looking for place to disconnect and get away from your life, this is the place. It's not really close to anything. You have to drive 30-60 minutes to get to anything outside of campground which got kinda old. The campground has zero cell or wifi coverage. There is a choppy wifi at pool but not great. The pool with slides seems to be the big attraction to this park and it is nice and heated as well. no roads are paved, all dirt with bumps and potholes. Our site was overgrown with trees and weeds and in need of some maintenance. I don't think I saw one level site in the whole park and I walked most of it. It's a pretty rustic place which is cool, sometimes. Didn't see any type of security patrol which is discouraging being there is zero cell service, so if you had an emergency your are on your own. Still had a nice relaxing stay but I don't think I will be back. local roads were closed due to roads washed out, so called office from road to see best way to come in and they were no help at all which is also disappointing. - DieselJunkie
Jul 2017 - $67.00
Ok let me start by saying the pool facility is amazing. Kids had a blast in the pool. It was the major attraction to this campground for us. Other pros are that the camp store is well stocked and we had perhaps the nicest and most spacious site we have we have ever had. Fire pits are absolutely awesome as well. The cons are that this place is built on the side of a mountain and many of the sites are a serious bike uphill to get "home". There is absolutely no Verizon cell service there other than an occasional 1x bar. They say the have wifi but it is only at the pool house and is near non existence on bandwidth so other than minimal work, don't expect to do anything of significance if you can get on at all. I also didn't like their "bands" like a theme park that you had to wear your entire stay or be prepared to pay a big replacement price. Store items were also a bit pricey. Perhaps the biggest con for me was that this place is located in the middle of no where... 30 minutes minimum to get anywhere you want to be or go to get things. I would say staff was not welcoming or friendly by any stretch. Not sure we will return again. - Matt7571

Very nice park. Near main road, but very quiet at night. Convenient to area attractions and interstate. We were there a bit off season, we don't really use amenities like pool, etc. They have recovered nicely from major flooding a year ago. Pride of ownership shows. WI-FI was sketchy at times but good overall. Would stay if in area again. We stayed in a motorhome. - Kurt D
Sep 2018 - $40.00
Nicely maintained campground, owners and staff friendly and always available to help. Provided good information of places to go and answered any question we had. River borders the campground. Nice area to walk around the campground, trail along a field and a treed trail. Level dirt/gravel site with grass to enjoy the outside. There is a small store, a pool and a game room with a pool table and other games. There was a chili cook off while we were there; unlike some other campgrounds, the seasonals were friendly to us. Lots of things to do nearby and explore the White Mountains. Recommend this campground and would definitely stay again. We were there for 2 weeks. - TravelingParkers

Aug 2018 - $40.00
We stayed at this campground while visiting friends in the area. I must say the site is better suited for tenters. The access road and roads within the camp were narrow and rough. Numerous pot holes make it easy to maintain the park speed limit, that much is certain. This campground is on river bottom land so be ready for lots of bugs and lots of sand in your rig. Our site was level sand next to the bath house. It was a water and electric site. Utilities were located at the rear of the site, making it necessary for me to drag out my 50' hose. Electric was steady with good voltage. Water pressure was good. We visited the dump station upon leaving the park, and as mentioned in other reviews, it was difficult to navigate. All in all, we were not impressed with this campground and would probably not stay here again. - Airstreamers
Jul 2017 - $38.00
This is a nice quiet family oriented park. Lots of tents and trailers but very quiet at night. Roads are OK but not great. Lots of low branches for motorhomes. Site was good with 50 amp and water. Dump station is convenient and clean. No wifi and we could not find any TV stations even on our antenna. Verizon hotspot worked well. Office staff was very nice and actually came out while we were at the dump station to see if we had any issues with our stay. I explained that our only issue was some low hanging branches for our motorhome. The manager stated that she would have the trimming service that they contact with raise the limbs although to be honest there are not a lot of motorhome site available at this park. We stayed here in a motorhome and would stay again. - RayN

Management was friendly. The dump site was a bit awkward (natural lean away from receptacle and a tight turn to the right to exit) but adequate. - SCClockDr

Nice RV park that is tucked back in away from the busy highways. There are many seasonal campers but their sites were nicely maintained. New ownership as of 7/18/2018 who are working to improve the park. The areas for short term guests have electric and water hookups in a nicely treed part of the campground. No circuit breakers on pedestals. Restroom and shower facilities were very clean but had pay showers. Small pool and playground that appeals to kids. There is a nice stream bordering the property. - linnemj
Aug 2016 - $38.00
One of the best parks we've visited, great location, tall pines, wonderful perennial gardens, quiet, tended by very conscientious park hosts, several of whom stopped by to chat, as we were enjoying our campfire. We stayed two nights, the second night's stay - late arrival- around 8PM, was unforeseen due to unexpected tire issues and the host on duty was a bit snippy, as we couldn't locate an easy staffer to register with. he later apologized. The facilities were immaculate. This park is well off the main roads and was as quiet as one could possibly wish. We strongly recommend this park. - Dondi-496
Aug 2009 - $30.00
My husband and our two dogs chose this spot as the place for our maiden voyage. The campground was very clean and welcoming with lovely flower beds scattered here and there. The brook was cool, clean and refreshing! This is a great place for families with young children to enjoy the simpler pleasures. We enjoyed hearing and watching the young children at play. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and hope to go back very soon. - Trish R.

Great park with nice big waterfront sites. Or huge field is you want sun rather than shade. Rent float tubes, kayaks and canoes. Good general store. Close to all white mountain attractions. - Rbertalotto

Wifi is at office only! No mini golf. Nice sites. Young lady at desk seems not happy. River is clean and nice. - Camper6772
Aug 2014 - $40.00
Wi-Fi only available at office. No cable and very wooded, so little chance of satellite view. Extremely friendly owner of campground. Very quiet at night, little to no road noise. There is an extremely infrequently used train track and trestle. As a matter of fact it gets used as a diving area into the river. The campground has a great setup for canoeing, kayaking or tubing on the river. Store prices are not out of line. The campground electric boxes and wiring appear relatively new, and we had no electric issues. The only downside to the campground is that it is all dirt. Roads and sites are dirt, and the owner states that they are prohibited from paving or restricting water drainage or creating any run off into the river. Location is right off the interstate which is incredibly convenient, and no the interstate is quiet and hardly ever heard in the campground. Overall a nice peaceful campground. - Cbones

Sep 2016 - $30.00
It has been almost 10 years since the last time we stayed at this campground. We have noticed some improvements, but there is so much more that they can do to make this place great. We stayed on site 12 which was a tree lined site close to the ball field. We did notice that the site had tree berries all over our site, picnic tables, etc... The power was sufficient and easy to get to. The water faucet was on the ground and was a little difficult to connect my water filter to and the pressure was a little low. The sewer outlet was slightly elevated and made for more work during discharge. We were able to get Wifi as well as At&T service at our site. The campground is well spread out and sites for all types of camping. All of the interior roads are dirt (dusty) and have significant pot holes. - clw_man
Oct 2015 - $32.00
We came here for the Columbus weekend to close out our camping season. Friends of ours recommended Branch Brook and met us here. We arrived in a driving rainstorm. The interior roads are dirt and in need of "maintenance". Our site was under water for the most part and there were tree stumps everywhere. I had to work to squeeze our 38' trailer in around them. The site was large and private. The area is awesome with lots of attractions. The price was certainly reasonable. This is a large campground with a lot of open space and I can see why the seasonals like it. It would definitely grow on you if you were a regular. There is so much upside, however, it is a bit rundown and it appears the ownership is not too interested. As a matter of fact, when we got there, we just went to our site and didn't check in 'til the next day (we got there mid-afternoon). Nobody seemed too concerned about collecting our money. Overall, it was a good weekend, the weather cleared, we got out and about, and the campground was actually quite pretty outside the obvious cry for updating. We would return if there weren't so many better options (at this time) in the general area. If someone took a real interest in this place, it could really shine. - Litespeed

Sep 2012 - $27.00
As previously stated new owners are friendly and working hard on improvements. New pool was open. Owners were waiting for pool heater to be hooked up which will be a nice touch. We had a nice site with privacy but theses sites are vanishing quickly because the owners are putting in a lot of seasonals. I doubt that if we wanted to stop here next year we would find an adequate site for our 37' RV. Cable lines were lying on top of the ground as well as water lines and sewer pipes. Labor day weekend was noisy. Folks next to us were loud after quiet time and started using foul language in their conversations but they were all gone in 2 days. Holderness is where they filmed On Golden Pond. The tenting area was nicely set in the woods. Won't stop here again since all the good sites we saw are being converted to seasonal. - rv4rob
May 2012 - $35.00
This campground has new owners who are doing a good job of bringing it up to date. They put in a new pool which was not ready when we were here Memorial Day weekend but which I understand was ready the following week. They are also doing a lot of landscaping. Our sites were fine. We were travelling as a large group and got 5 sites together. The kids participated in the activities that were offered and really enjoyed them. Dogs were welcome. One warning, there were lots of mosquitoes. I did see on their FaceBook page that they sprayed sometime after we visited. I would stay here again. - sbradley
Aug 2007 - $37.00
This was a campground with lots of seasonals. The dump station and showers were out of order. "Just been inspected and approved by Woodall's". The campground was noisy and sites very close together, in-fact my neighbor on the drivers side had his fire roaring within 8 feet of my dining slide. No monitoring noted by owners. - t.c.fal.sr
