Overall Rating:

This campground has two personalities: (1)quiet and peaceful from Sunday afternoon through Friday afternoon and (2) rowdy and loud during the weekends. PROs: Lots of trees/green grass Relatively quiet during the week. After 11 PM the campground gets pretty peaceful. Decent cable(no HD) No sewers, but tanks are pumped twice a week for weekly, monthly, and seasonal campers For Monthly or long-term campers you are given an electronic pass for the gate ($25 refundable deposit). Campground is bordered on its west side by the Delaware River,so it's very convenient for boaters and rafters. CONs: Although there are signs posted in several spots in the campground about NO LOUD MUSIC with threats of expulsion for violators, on the weekends there are always units that blare music that can be heard 100 yards away - and farther. It goes on for hours and hours so obviously nobody is willing to enforce this rule. Visitors are charged $10 each no matter what time of day they come. (A nearby competing campground charges $5 after 5 PM). The office staff is often unfriendly/uninterested. The rules state that all dogs must be on a leash, but several times I was approached by unleashed large dogs while leash-walking our two small dogs. Thankfully these dogs were not vicious, but still it's unnerving to see a 75-pound bull pit galloping directly at your two little dogs. Too many campers (mostly tenters)have no reservations about walking though others' campsites as a shortcut -even though the written rules state that you are violating someone's "home" when you do this.We finally roped off out campsite during the July 4th weekend. 30-Amp power only. No WI-FI repeaters. If you are not sitting near the pavilion,it is very difficult(or impossible)to get a connection. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Location! Location! Location! We chose this campground because of its close proximity to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreational Area. It did prove to be good for that. The campground is quiet despite how many units are in it. MANY seasonals. There is a boat ramp to the river. Diesel is available nearby. Easy access from I-80. Friendly check-in. Showers are coin operated but didn't use them. WIFI is available at the pavilion. Our site was down the hill and wifi reception was occasionally available. Grass sites. 30 amp only. Honey wagon available on Monday and Friday. Leveling required more blocks than we have ever used. Overall, we were fine. Served the purpose. However, WIFI is important to us. The rate is too high for the services available. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall, we had a good experience, even after a little bit of an issue upon our arrival. We stayed on Oak 41, friends had Oak 39 and Oak 42. Oak 39 is meant for a smaller trailer and does appear to have a low spot which could hold water, but even after the rain we had we didn't notice any standing water. Oak 41 and 42 are very similar in size. They are meant for longer units, we have a 43' 5th wheel. These sites sit about 1 foot lower than the road. Being grass, it can be tricky getting into the site and worry about wheels and jacks sinking, but if you use boards under your tires or jacks, no issues. We did have difficulty getting into our site because the 4WD wasn't engaging on the truck, we we got a little stuck, luckily we were far enough into our site that we just dropped the camper where it was and enjoyed our weekend. When we left, no problem getting the camper out of the site. Our site was definitely spacious as plenty of room behind our unit to put down our ramp door and open our 3 slides. Sites are not perfectly flat, but you will need to do some leveling, but not too much. It is a very crowded campground, especially the tent sites, which all seemed to be nice and well used (not in a negative way). They offer port-o-johns throughout the tent area so you don't have to make the long trek up to the bathhouse in the middle of the night. Staff was very friendly and I was constantly seeing maintenance crews working around the the campground. Upon leaving, they were starting to go around and clean up the fire ring areas. They were picking up trash from the tent area, but it appeared if you were in a camper you took your trash up to the dumpsters, which we didn't see as a problem. The pool was very crowded so we didn't bother to use it. Though everyone we noticed in the pool seemed to be enjoying themselves. When we were there, Verizon had no cell service. AT&T services was full 4G. Make sure you put your jacks on boards or blocks so you don't sink. Even recommend putting tires on boards, though we did not do this and didn't have any issues when leaving. Overall, we all had a good time. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This was our fifth stay here, and the most pleasant. Most of the office staff are pleasant and helpful. The same is true of the maintenance crew. This year we were blessed with cooler weather, which makes for a much nicer experience when you are limited to 30 A. electric service. As mentioned in last year's review, a few 50 A. sites for us bigger rigs would be a nice upgrade. Our site was quite level, even though there was a lot of muddy ground due to quite a bit of rain. It wasn't a big problem. but we had to remove our shoes after walking outside. We were parked under some big, old walnut trees, which provided lots of shade. We got used to the occasional walnut bouncing off our roof. The only real negative experience was an RV with three couples who got very drunk and were disruptive until at least 3 AM. When the management heard about this, the drunken idiots were told to leave when they tried to book an extra day here. To me, it shows that the management is serious about civilized behavior in this campground. TV cable is limited to 20 channels, but that was more than enough. WI-FI is located up near the office but, with my booster, I could usually access it during weekdays. The weekends are much busier, and with the influx of kids I had to use my mobile hotspot. It is costlier this year to have visitors -- $10 each as a "facilities fee," but I would guess this is because some campers have abused using the facilities, which mostly consist of the pool and the miniature golf course, which has actually been upgraded since last season. In closing, there are not that many decent campgrounds in the area, and this one has the nicest scenery, location, service, and the lowest fees, at least for longer stays like ours. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Motorhome.

On the lower camp sites you hardly hear the traffic on 46. Most of the upper sites are park model trailers, cabins and campers who haven't been on the road in years. Nice quiet campground except if they are mowing lawn or pumping out. If your kids will be playing basketball, volleyball or on the playground Oak 6 might be a perfect site, you could watch them from your picnic table. The heated pool looked good but it was too wet and cool while we were there so we never got to try it. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The office has a good selection if you forgot anything. They serve breakfast, lunch and diner if you forgot everything. There is Marshalls Farm Market about a block south, easy walk unless you buy a lot of produce, pies, home made sausage and bacon and fixn's.

This has been our most pleasant stay at this campground. We used to have to buy $1 tokens to get back into he campground after the office closed. Now you can get an electronic pass with just a refundable $25 deposit. Big improvement !

I also have seen improvement in the friendliness of the office staff. They are much more pleasant than they used to be. I guess all those negative comments were finally listened to.

As noticed in previous reviews, there is no on-site sewer, but they do come and pump out your tanks on Mondays and Fridays.

This is the first time we have camped here in a bigger Class A, and we could only run one AC at a time because they only have 30 Amp. Wiring at least some sites with 50A would be a really nice thing for those of us with bigger rigs. It didn't help that we stayed here during record-breaking heat !

DRFCG is really two different campgrounds. From Sunday night until Friday afternoon, it is pretty quiet here with a lot of empty site. The weekends are rowdy, with a lot of tent campers, but security is pretty much on the ball and quiets down those who get too rowdy.

WI-FI is pretty much restricted to the public buildings at the top of the hill. Our first two weeks here I was able to access it fairly well with my WI-FI booster, but then the signal strength seemed to fade.

Cable (via DISH Network) TV is very limited, less than 20 channels with only SD and kind of weird oversized picture.

All in all, this campground has the best rates in this area ($700 per month), and we will, no doubt, be back next summer for a month or so. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Motorhome.

This is our third stay here. Being in the Northeast, rates are high. For ten days, it cost us over $440.

The park has a lot of old growth trees, which make it very pleasant. We always reserve the corner space, which is quite roomy.

There are no sewers, but they will pump you out twice a week which works fine.

The office staff is not particularly friendly, which is something they need to work on. Grounds staff is much nicer.

When the office is closed (5 PM on weekdays), you have to have a token to raise the gate to enter the park. These tokens have to be purchased at the office for $1 each. With the rates they charge, they could well afford to simply GIVE you a token for each day you book.

A bigger problem is when you have visitors, they will be charged $8 EACH to enter the park. This is supposedly a fee to cover "use of facilities." The only real facilities are the swimming pool (which is quite nice) and the worn out, filthy, rotting miniature golf course (which costs an ADDITIONAL $1 each to use).

However, since the campground is so close to our daughter and grandkids, it's just too handy a location to pass up. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice place to stay. The Delaware River is nearby, and the rural setting is quiet and restful. The staff is friendly with the exception of the younger girl who checked us in. Sites are grass, but we found a level area in ours with little effort. The place has a ridiculous number of speed bumps. Pets are supposed to be kept quiet but the owner's dogs could often be heard barking. There are a LOT of picnic tables which people keep moving around while you're out for the day, so we had to move them to get back into our campsite. My biggest negative would be that the gate will not work when the office is closed (5 PM), so you have to buy tokens for $1 each or you can't get in. It just seems like a really cheap thing to do. Why not just GIVE clients one token for every night they book? In spite of that, the place is well run and well organized, and we would stay here again. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We checked in on Friday afternoon around 1 PM, since we booked weeks ago we paid in full and thought we could drive to the site. Not so lucky, we were greeted at the entrance gate where a staff member asked us our name and wrote some information and then were told to go the the office to check in. So to the office we go, were asked how many kids and adults, I informed them three adults and no kids. Another $24 for your guest please (then accidentally charged us $92). Really? OK, with that done they informed me that the 30 amp service is for lights only. No electric heaters, water heaters or air conditioning. Everything is extra. Check in took about 30 min before we went to our site. Once at the site we hooked up our electric and water, the utilities worked fine over the entire weekend. There are over 50% seasonal campers here. Sites are tight, almost rally like where your awning comes close to touching your neighbors slide. Fire wood is $6 per bundle (6 pieces) you are not allowed to bring your own in, you must buy it from them. The Delaware River is so nice looking there. Oh, make sure you do not get a site up by the road, there are lots of loud motorcycles that drive along Route 46. Sorry but we did not use the bathhouses or showers over the weekend. We were on Oak 57. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We didn't have high expectations, as this place gets mixed reviews. I'm guessing they don't write their own. We had a large group (some were from the north Jersey area which is why we selected this park), and all were set up together. The sites were not very level, but they were clean. The kids had an amazing time playing games and they actually kept themselves occupied! The staff was fine and we didn't require their attention except for checking in. Since we were all self contained and it was pretty chilly, we all used our own bathrooms and showers. I didn't even bother to look at theirs. We did have a good stay, but probably won't return especially in season. I'm sure it gets really crowded. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Just returned from a weekend stay. We stayed here several years ago and enjoyed this campground so decided to go back with our new RV. The staff was great upon check in and offered us a variety of sites. Since we had a lot of rain, I walked down to look at the sites and the site we reserved was wet and muddy. The staff told me to pick from several other available sites and just let her know. We found a nice site by the river. We also liked all the free activities for the kids. They had a great Halloween party for the kids including pumpkin painting and hayrides which were all free. I don't understand some of the comments on this site about the staff. We will definitely return. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sites in the "Oak" area are way too tight. They seem to have signs posted everywhere you look with big NO's on them. I felt like I was visiting the department of motor vehicles office. Then there is the rule book as thick as the Webster's Dictionary, containing just common sense NO's. (NO ASSEMBLY OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS ALLOWED.) In my opinion, they aren't very customer focused. They should spend some money on paint instead of all the "NO" signs. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Extremely crowded! Very expensive for what it is. Arrogant, unhelpful and unprofessional staff. Police activity on the grounds. Other guests were uncontrollable, rude and loud and almost nothing was done about it. Inconsistent application of rules. The campgrounds are old, unattractive and the whole place literally looks like either a concert is about to take place with tents and rvs all over the place haphazardly and NO privacy, or like a refugee camp. This is HANDS DOWN the WORST campgrounds I have ever been on. We camped at Delaware River Family Campground in a Tent.

Great location along the Delaware River. Boat ramp and shore access for fishing, canoeing, etc. Basketball and Volley Ball courts and a large open playground field. Helpful friendly staff. There are a number of seasonally rented sites and a large number of tent sites. RV sites are nice size, with picnic table and shade trees. There is a free dump station and also honey wagon service ($10). On Saturday night there is a free movie on the campground TV channel. The equipment in the laundry room was clean but aging.
