Site sloped down from the rear to the front so entry stairs very high. Sewer cap behind the pad at the middle of the pad. Rear tires at the end of the pad. Thirty feet from sewer compartment uphill to a 7" pipe, not a 5". Unusable. Obviously never looked at an RV or talked with anyone. Envelope at gate says drop envelope at Bld C39. No map. Our site was on a poorly marked and gravel road. Been to numerous bases and camps. This is the first I would never return to. - Navychop
Sep 2017 - $25.00
Nice park. Large concrete pads with (mostly) elbow room between the sites. Nicely mowed and manicured lawn. Blazing fast Wifi. It is quiet with some shady, some sunny sites. The base's location is very close to catching train or ferry for NYC and the Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore came as a very pleasant surprise to me as it was new, clean, active with parallel boardwalks and pavilions. Gorgeous homes across the street. A real pleasure to go see. The base is small and the NEX isn't much more than a 7-11, but it is well kept and security is tight. There are a couple of things I would warn you about. When you first drive in to the base you will see a very strange entrance. Go left and make the big loop around to the big building. Yes, you'll drive in to the building to get ID'd. They will check the ID's of everyone in the vehicle. That's the first warning. The second warning is this. You'll be instructed to turn right on T-1 and if your assigned sight is 9 through 15 to make the first right off of T-1 into the park. Do not turn on that first right unless you're only 10' long. Go about 75 feet further, turn right then 75 feet and you'll see a gravel pass through to sites 9 through 15 that is actually wide enough. That first right is only about 10' wide with curbs on both side and a fire hydrant on the corner. You'll see what I mean when you get there. The sewer hook ups are at the back/wrong side of the sites. No bid deal, just have a long sewer hose. We enjoyed the park and the area. - jomark

We stayed here for two weeks, including over Labor Day, and were pleasantly surprised by the experience. Upon arrival at the gate, we were given a welcome packet with our site number and information on where the office is to check in after setting up. When you arrive, you will pull in through a large building which is the ID check. Stay in the right lane, since the left is for commercial deliveries. The sites are long and paved and very easy to back into, but the connections are not placed in the best spots. The power pedestal is located at the back of the pad, and was a stretch for the length of our cable, so check your power cable before you park. The sewer connection is the worst I've ever seen, it is located in the middle of the pad right under where our axels were. I had to crawl under the axels to connect the sewer, and had to remove part of the piping from the plug because it was sticking up four inches high. That aside, everything else was great.
It was quiet and you have enough room to not be on top of your neighbors. Although we did have an issue with one neighbor who had guests over and blocked our parking access, so I had to go ask them to move, even though they were sitting outside and watched us pull up and still did nothing until I asked. The utilities worked well, no cable TV, but over the air channels were fine and wifi is standard Navy GoWifi. The laundry room has three washers and dryers and all worked well. It was perfectly located to visit our family and be able to catch the train to NYC. There is no commissary or exchange on base, but a Super Walmart is about 10 minutes away, and I recommend visiting Delicious Orchards just up 34 for great baked goods, fruits, vegetables and deli meat. The base is small, but we still had plenty of areas to walk our dogs without worrying about traffic.
Aside from the connection locations, it is a very nice campground and we would definitely return. - pfogleboch

Sep 2019 - $40.00
Very nice and shady. Sites are not laid out very well. If you have an odd # site you have to ignore the one way signs or you'll have hook ups on wrong side. Some sites are very tight. All are pull through, but not typical pull through. The sites are parallel to roadway so your back is to the road and your front has a large area for fire ring and picnic table. Site was dirt/ grass but level. As others have said bring lots of hose. Rangers are super nice. Easy checkin. They sell firewood at check in. No cable. No wifi. But we got a few stations over antennae. Great kayak lake. Walmart etc less than 5 miles. Shower house needs a good scrubbing. - Jan Orlando
Jul 2019 - $40.00
Great county park with all pull through sites. We were in D-6 in our pop-up (W/E) (would be fine for up to a 30 foot travel trailer) a short walk to the restrooms, playground, laundry and showers. Bathroom and showers were in working condition and the area is air conditioned. Our site had lots of room with a nice fire ring and table. Great hiking trails and a short walk to the day use area that has areas to sit around the lake. The rangers patrol the campground and were always at the check in station. Other sites we liked were D 4,6,8,12 and C 2,4,5,7. Like others have mentioned, bring 100' of hose to reach the spigots. - bug512

We stayed in Pine Cone because we had to be in NJ & it was the closest to our family. This place should not be able to call itself a resort. Dirt & sand roads & sites, potholes & puddles all over to get around. Trees & shrubs not trimmed to accommodate a 45' bus. Tight turns to get to site with trees in the way. Scraped the awning of the bus on one of the trees. Getting out of the site was no picnic either. I had to hold back tree branches so that my husband could make a wide turn to get out. Most people in the "resort" live there permanently with sites that look exactly like that. Site was small with a tree close to door, no room to move around. Site was not long enough or wide enough. They should not tell you that they can fit a 45' bus, if they can't. We had to stay for 18 days & we could not wait to leave. It was $350/wk. We have stayed for an entire month in other campgrounds for what we paid for 18 days here. Never again unless they do some major work there. We stayed off season so the pool was already closed for the winter. Camp store was satisfactory, nothing special. Tennis court look old & not maintained. We did not use the showers or laundry. - Denise58
Sep 2018 - $60.00
Grouchy personnel, small lots, overflowing dumpsters, nickel and dime you at every step, trees encroaching RV paths, pine sap covers your RV by the time you leave. I only stay here because I have to. Cable TV sucks, Internet virtually unusable, you pay extra if you have a washer/dryer, you cannot use sewer totes for non-sewer sites, you must use their honey wagon for a fee. - VagabondLove
Jul 2017 - $53.00
Park is very sandy and uneven. Do not go after a rain storm. My problem is that during the night, my electricity went off. Went to the front office and called the emergency number five times with no answer. I then knocked on a campers door who was familiar with the park and he showed me a breaker box that had possible "tripped". It worked but where was the help from the front office. Spoke to the front office the next day and it was like no big deal to them. She says she was at the gym and didn't receive any calls. Stay away from this place. - Troy650

Jul 2017 - $25.00
We stayed here for a week because of its location. It is the closest campground to the beach in this area of NJ. Having said that, we will probably not stay here again. It is just not designed for a 30' motorhome.
We knew going in there were no hookups, but access to the dump station required contortionist maneuvers. Originally, we were going to use the campground showers and bathrooms, but they were just awful. It was incredibly difficult to get level. This campground is better for small rvs, tents, and pop ups. - Full-Time-RVer
Apr 2017 - $25.00
In over 2 years of full timing all over the US where we stay primarily in state parks this is hands down the worst we have been in. It's too bad since there are very few state parks in NJ that will allow RVs over 25' but that was the least of our problems. Add $5/day/pet and $17.50 "service charge" for a campground with no hook ups, no water available (see below) and an unacceptable women's showers. Registration is at a site 3/4 mile BEYOND the entrance to the campground in an area that cannot accommodate large rigs (we are 33' and could not have) The site we reserved (#4) was supposedly big enough for a 33' rig-it was 33'6" long-rutted and sloped, dirt, sand and small branches as a surface; and 11' 9" wide (between trees that would not allow extension of an awning) We were able to change though the site was still sloped-end to end and side to side. First attempt to get water from the pedal operated spigot was unsuccessful. The water spews from the pedal area but not the spigot. 2nd attempt at a further spigot-water still comes from pedal area but also from spigot UNTIL a hose is connected. Then it spews from the pedal area and every other opening on the apparatus-up, down and out, EXCEPT the spigot. The third spigot next to the bathhouse has no water at all. A call to the office brings the "full time maintenance man" within 15 min who proceeds in the face of a pump (#2) apparatus taped from bottom to top, to say "it needs to be fixed." To be fair, he was very nice and took us to the maintenance garage where we were able to fill our tank. The trip to the showers the next morning was as disappointing. 3 showers-2 had only cold and of those 1 no pressure since the shower head. The handicapped shower had warm water for about 10 seconds of the 15 sec push button allotment but ended with lukewarm with water spraying from both upper and lower heads and no control. I don't like to write bad reviews but we could not recommend this place at all. - edc1951
Apr 2017 - $25.00
Not sure how this park got such good reviews unless it was for location and/or activities. $25/night (for non-NJ residents) and a $5 reservation fee and no hookups. I have to wonder what they're doing with the money, because it's certainly not campground improvements. The bathrooms are clean but in dire need of updating. Broken shower heads, no shelving in sink area, scratched mirrors, etc. Even though they say bears are active in the area, the dumpster lid was broken in half (perhaps the result of the bears?). I only saw staff in the campground twice (and that was probably for cleaning). Noise from the interstate is audible but bearable. I probably wouldn't stay here again. - MSSW

Jul 2018 - $24.00
My husband and I have been staying here for over a month, before we get on the road. We are newbies, in the midst of renting out our home and getting ready to retire. We have found our stay here to be very pleasant and conveniently located in central NJ. Our site is clean and neat, maybe a bit close to our neighbor, and found some dead branches over us that need to be trimmed, but other than that we really do not have any complaints. The management is quite excellent and responsive. This is a good, safe family place, with lots of summer activities for families. There is a decent laundromat available here. Lots of nearby shopping and there is a Laundromat in town, if you wish to save some $ on laundry. - J Muench
May 2018 - $33.00
This was a nice resort, but we didn't use the facilities. They have 2 pools, bocce ball, basketball, mini golf, activities in the summer. We were there on a rainy week. Being all sand, it made for a mess walking the dog. I will say we got in and out with our 40' rig, but it was very difficult. There is an escort to help and he was very helpful. Lots of trees, no satellite, they had cable, we had fhu 50 amp, unhooked by office, verizon signal on and off, wifi available. Appreciated the recycle bin. The traffic noise is there if you are parked in back. Our spot was quiet. Spots were roomy, but felt crowded as they were every which way and no sense of privacy at all. - dorcol
Oct 2017 - $59.00
Wooded park but road noise is evident. Jet traffic into and out of McGuire. A lot of rules (walk dogs only on your site, can't use your washer/dryer, no pitbull or pitbull mixes), seemingly ignored and not enforced. A lot of seasonal sites. Narrow roads, tight turns. Ok for an overnight.
Follow the web site directions rather than the GPS. Roads leading to the campground are good. - jplante4

Big rig friendly with level sites. Campground was 7 miles from highway but easy drive. WiFi, showers, laundry, and dog park was good. Cable was good but could not get satellite due to trees. - Fulltimersrv
Apr 2019 - $75.00
Camped early in the season, so it was relatively quiet. Nice camp store and friendly staff. Campground roads are a little tight for a very large rig. Just need to pay attention at the corners and watch the leaning trees. - Mike Corl
Oct 2018 - $28.00
The sites are large and wide, with sandy soil and lots of trees. We didn't use the restrooms or laundry but I did investigate and they were spotless. Pool was closed as it was end of season. The store is well stocked with friendly staff. My grandchildren did visit and joined in on crafts, a hayride and trick or treating. Very restful and peaceful at night. - RickyTs

Every weekend is a theme. Great place for kids. We can take our electric golf cart and 2 dogs with us camping. They rent golf carts. Olympic size pool, 5 acre lake, camp store, daily activities. Down the Street from Great Adventure. Open April Till November. Let the Office know what size camper you have so they know your camper will fit into the site. Rally field is secluded area, you can walk, ride, bike, golf cart to activities, store, etc. Close to some beaches. - Gottobefree59
Aug 2019 - $65.00
Holy cow, is this place disgusting! We took our niece and nephew on their first camping trip to what we thought would be a nice local campground and we could not have been more wrong. The first thing we saw when we entered the ground was the pair of overflowing dumpsters. If the sight of it wasn't enough, the smell sure did the trick. Hoping it was a one off issue, we continued. When my niece saw all of the run down RVs, many listing to one side in the soft, sandy soil, she asked if this place was "safe". I could not assure her that it was. But it was really the dueling confederate flags that sealed the deal for her. All this before we even got to the site. So for the sake of brevity, I will say this. The site was horrific. Garbage everywhere and absolutely nothing between us and our neighbors who themselves did not look too thrilled to be getting company. Needless to say the excitement of our trip was rapidly fading. I went back to the office and ever so politely requested a refund. Without a hint of hesitation,I was given just that. Even they aren't going to argue that the place is a mess. I firmly believe the only way they survive is because of their proximity to Six Flags Great Adventure which ironically enough, is the Timberland Lake Campground of amusement parks. - Adrian'n'Rocky
Aug 2019 - $163.00
Worst service ever. Came in with my 3 kids and when i went to my camp site there were people in my camp site. There was animal droppings everywhere and the parks for kids were filthy. Bathrooms were a mess. When i went to the office they gave me such a hard time and told me that i had to leave after i had already paid! At first they said they would not refund me. But after i told them i would take it to court they gave me my refund. Sad about the whole thing was that my kids were so excited and were devastated when i told them we had to leave. Most worst experience ever!! - von torres

Jun 2018 - $25.00
We spent the summer of 2018 on site #76. Our monthly rate was $745.00 and our electric was .17 cents per kwh. The site was a pull in and set up for a cabin or motorhome. Since we are in a 5th wheel, our hook-ups were on the wrong side. Fortunately we had enough water and sewer hose and Artie, the owner, lent us a 50 amp electric cord extension so we were in good shape. The entire area is heavily wooded which made satellite TV reception very difficult but helped keep our air conditioning needs down. Internet reception on the park WiFi was impossible at the site but we were able to pick it up if we went up near the office. We were way on a cruise for two weeks and between the terrific staff and some wonderful neighbors, we felt very comfortable leaving our home there while we were away. Crystal Springs was a very nice place to be and we would stay there again. The monthly rate was a bit steep considering our site condition but the area and the staff helped make up for that. Hopefully the pool will be finished this year and we will be able to enjoy it if we get back there again. - Helen C
Nov 2017 - $85.00
RV Resort?? More like the LAST RESORT. What a pit. One (barely working) shower for whole campground. No laundry, no amenities other then a overgrown pond.
Only good thing I can say about the office staff is they're rarely there: so the abuse they espouse is kept to a minimum. AVOID THIS PLACE unless of course it's your LAST RESORT.
Lots are very close and have a fire ring. Site surface is dirt. - Jeff AP
May 2013 - $20.00
This park is mainly privately owned RV lots, with park model units ( they look like log cabins). There are a few RV lots, but most are in disrepair. The developer is presently in a legal battle with the HOA, thus all rents have to be paid to the County Sheriff. Our rate is based on a monthly rate. I would stay away from this park until legal issues are resolved. The wireless worked well; TV is very poor; the cable is just an old fashioned CATV. - BillI

Jul 2008 - $18.00
We stayed at this park during the 4th of July. It is a run down trailer park more than an RV.Their are small children running around all day unsupervised with a lake and is very noisy all day and night. While we were there there was a car chase involving two drunks and one of them drove his truck into the lake. Cable did not work, water lines were full of air, bathrooms and showers were filthy, laundry room always flooded and machines not working. The worst was the geese every morning and the tons of crap they left at your campsite. We would not return if it was free. Would not recommend. - scb
May 2008 - $25.00
We drove through this camp ground. Lots of full time campers with some very old campers. The grounds were not kept up at all. Nice lake. Pot holes in the driveway area that you could lose a small car in. Talked to some locals and they said to stay away due to plenty of drugs and convicts. - Jodee
